Chapter 83 - Corrupted Beasts

The pod lid started to close shut, and my mind started to enter the game world.

When my eyes opened, Iona was lying with me, my body wrapped in her arms. I was surprised at the possessive feeling I was getting from her sleeping body. I couldn't free myself with my strength either, making me learn one of the downsides to being so low on strength. My movement woke her up, though, and I smiled at her as her eyes opened. She smiled back with a lazy, happy grin.

I kissed her lips, looked at the scales lining the top of her head, and swiped a small amount of hair decorating her face. Her smile grew, and she let me go. I could feel her half erection in her under armor and felt an urge to release her until I remembered where we were.

A cough from above us resounded in the area, and I turned to see the other ladies looking a lot more alert than Iona and myself. I slightly blushed, but I was slowly losing that shame as I stood and stretched. The small skirt I was wearing showed off my ass to the ladies as I picked up things around the camp.

I realized as I finished there were now three semi erections surrounding me. The s.e.x.u.a.l tension was building in our base camp as three Futanari women watched their main s.e.x.u.a.l outlet show their bodies off. I blushed with the implications of my thoughts as inside the game; I hadn't had s.e.x in over a week. Fidel kept a cold look, but her boner wasn't hidden very well. I could see the tinge of a blush as well when she turned away.

Iona wasn't shy about it, and neither was Viccy, who had a smirk like she was winning. I slightly blushed at the thought of why she was 'winning.' But Gloom's voice put a bucket of cold water on the s.e.x.u.a.lly tense atmosphere. "Ladies, We are still in a den. No matter how much we all want to peg the Subbubus, we need to finish this today. Every day we stay here, they might get reinforcements."

The statement turned us all serious, and we finished packing up the camp without my ass being molested under their gazes. I missed the gazes in the back of my head without realizing it. The Camp was cleaned up quickly, and we were ready to enter what we hoped to be the last area of the lab.

I got my neutral spell ready as Iona got prepared to open the door. When I nodded, she opened, and a rush of adrenaline coursed through my veins uselessly as nothing came from the other side.

We all felt a letdown as we filed in. We could barely see, and Gloom lit a torch. We all gasped as dead animals were scattered on the ground in a pit, and on the far side was another door. From the bodies, a black mist came up. The corruption permeated from the bodies, slowly rising into the air. A vent system was black that seemed to move somewhere on the opposite side of the room. The smell was horrible, and no one was in the room. There was a bridge to the other side. We all held watched out and walked over under the torchlight, and I hoped to god that methane wasn't a thing in this world. Gloom put out the touch quickly, though after a moment.

"Make a light," She told me, and I nodded, changing my chant. Soon a tiny light produced more light than the touch, and I let it hover above my head. I held the little mana needed to continue it as we further neared the bridge to the other side. We started to cross over, watching for any threats. We found nothing as we crept forward with extreme caution.

When we reached the center is when we heard growling. We stopped, and I used decided to chant more light sources. Soon four lights went out ahead and around us. They were illuminating the corpses of hundreds of animals. Gloom cast more spells on us. "Ladies, We need to move; otherwise, the prevention magic might wear down with this much corruption." We started to move across the room, picking up speed. Still, the growling continued as we finished crossing the bridge.

We were all on edge, but we reached the exit door without incident. Iona opened the door and motioned us inside. We followed her in and found ourselves in a Darkroom, but I sent the balls of light out. We all gasped in surprise as we saw a large wolf growling. Black corruption permeated out of its skin, with the light entering its eyes. It loud out a loud howl in the large room we found. The howl echoed off the walls, and I covered my ears as it hurt.

I noticed I took damage, as did everyone else with the howl. Gloom was the first to react, chanting her healing magic as Fidel opened up her bag. "Buy me time," She said to us and pulled out her pack that I have never seen open before.

The Corrupted giant wolf finished its howl, and I noticed it crawl towards us. "It might be injured," I commented, and I decided that light, for now, was the best I could provide. I started to chant, and I began to light up the room.

As the light in the room began to shine as the Wolf crawled forward, we had no time to think. Iona ran ahead and met him before it could reach the group. Gloom started to cast heals on Iona as Viccy pulled back her bow and released an arrow at the Giant wolf.

In the meantime, Fidel pulled a bag out of her pack and a knife. She held out her palm and drove the knife into the center of her palm while gritting her teeth. I stopped watching her, and I took a lookout for how the situation was unfolding.

As my lights reached the destination, I realized many things were going on. First, the roof of the case forced the wolf to crawl. Second, The wolf was dying before we even got here. Third, the corruption from the other room was being concentrated into the wolf endlessly. The vent was dumping it onto the wolf. Fourth there were signs of rotting flesh on the sides of the wolf.

Viccy's arrow hit the eye of the wolf and literally bounced off onto the ground. "Viccy, Attack its sides. It's rotting there!" I told her quickly. She looked at me, startled, before nodding and running off to get an angle for hitting the rotting flesh.

Meanwhile, the Wolf attacked Iona for the first time, swiping out with its giant paw towards her. Iona vaulted over the large paw, much to my surprise, her hand touching the paw for a split second as it traveled under her. The wolf instantly followed up, snapping at her with its maw. Iona used her previous momentum to roll out of the way at the last second.

Viccy took her first shot making the wolf howl giving us all a second of pain but, more importantly, a moment for Iona to recover onto her feet at that moment. The rotting flesh was all over its body, but mostly in places, you couldn't attack without being on top of the Wolf. The situation wasn't looking good for us.

I started to hear chanting from Fidel, and a mist surrounds her. Fidel's chanting started to become louder, and the wolf turned attention to Fidel as another landed in its rotting flesh. Still, those dead eyes gazed at her, and the Pressure on Iona disappeared.

I quickly realized what was going on, and I yelled at Iona, "Taunt it!" Iona didn't wait, and a roar erupted from her mouth, echoing around the room. The wolf stopped its crawling action and turned back to Iona.

Iona jumped back as it tried to bite her again. The claw of its dead paw hit right afterward. It cut through her damaged armor and cut her stomach. She screamed and backed off as Gloom dosed her with healing spells.

Meanwhile, this was happening. I finished chanting something more than just light for everyone. It was something simple, and I flashed the wolf in bright light. It was simple, and the wolf Howled again, releasing pressure from Iona as she recovered. Still, each howl hurt us all, and Gloom tried to keep up.

Then we all heard Fidel's chanting become loud yelling. "Sy, Hi, Glo, Ta, Pa, FERO, HERA!" The nonsense words of magic in this world finish, and I turned to Fidel. She now had chains of lightning wrap around her in arcs and shooting off of her. Her bleeding hand started to pour blood onto the ground before she used her other hand to pour the contents of the bag onto her open wound.

The wolf seemed to be no longer blinded as its paw lashed out at Iona one more time. Iona jumped out of the way with a second to spare when whatever Fidel was doing finished.

"Lightning Cage!" She screamed. Suddenly her body became electrified, and from her open wound, instead of blood, lightning erupted from it. Instead of hitting the wolf that couldn't see, it surrounded it with bars of lightning, creating a cage around it.

The wolf seemed to ignore the bars that now seemed to be closing in on it. The paw swiped out again, hitting the lightning cage, and it yowled in pain. Fidel's voice lashed out coldly. "We have a minute to kill it. Move NOW ATTACK WITH EVERYTHING!" She screamed.

None of us needed to be told twice. I took out the sword and ran forward to a rotting spot, as did Iona and Gloom, who transformed on the way over. Viccy continued to shoot as many arrows as she could. Fidel stood watching, focused on the cage, and I realized this was a channeled spell. We all were cutting into the wolf digging in as the lighting allowed us to pass, but every time the wolf attacked, it would get hurt. The lighting closed in on it soon to touch its skin. The wolf refused to attack us anymore as the lightning got real close.

We mindlessly attacked the wolf, and we all started to tunnel into the flesh of this corrupted wolf. The Wolf began to cry out as we all worked our way in through its rotting flesh. Still, the bars got closer, and as we hacked into the wolf with everything we could, Fidel's voice yelled, "Five seconds before you run from it!" I hacked at it two more times before I backed off while my ear's hurt from the howl the wolf let out.

We all escaped except Viccy, who continued to turn shoot arrows into the small caves we made. Rotted blood littered the floor, and Wolf's howls were weaker than before. Seconds after Fidel's hands clapped together; blood dripped from the union of her hands. "Collapse!" She said with a hint of finality. The lightning hit the wolf's rotting flesh and burned its way in. The Wolf's howl weakened even more, no longer causing harm, but the lightning diminished. The smell of burnt rotting flesh erupted into the room, and Iona ran forward as the wolf hadn't died. Its paw lashed out as she neared, and Viccy shot arrows at the burnt areas of the wolf's rotting flesh.

Each hit seemed to make the wolf weaker as Fidel crashed to the ground. Gloom re-engaged, and I sent another blinding illusion at the wolf, feeling exhaustion as I over-taxed my mana reserves that were rapidly depleting along with my stamina from hacking at the wolf for too long.

My vision started to blackout, and my system told me I had one stamina left as the Wolf let out a loud, mournful cry and laid its head down in its paws, closing its eyes.
