Chapter 54 - Resumes

I fell asleep with sweet dreams after my talk with Victoria. I got up and dressed in some workout clothing to start my day. I had a smile, and Victoria was exiting her room as I did mine. She was smiling like I was, and she came up to me. We started our day with a morning kiss that got a little heated before being broken off. We smiled together as we took a step back. I felt tingly all over.

We went together down to the Gym. Gabby hadn't entered yet, so I just got started with the workout routine. Victoria got started, as well. The remote put on some workout music. I was ten minutes into a run when Gabby entered and started to stretch. Inside we started to sweat as our muscles moved to the beat. After an hour and a half, we started to finish up our workout. I left to start a basic breakfast for us. I was happy we were going to find someone to cook for us soon, though. None of us were amazing cooks.

Gabby and Victoria came out from the gym as I was halfway through making breakfast. They sat down with smiles as I finished up. I plated the food and placed a portion each in front of them. I sat down with my own with a smile. The sweat was dripping from our workout from us all. Victoria grabbed large bottles of water for each of us to down while eating.

We ate in relative silence. Honestly, we were all sweaty and tired from the workout. I guarantee we would all pop back up after a shower. I finished eating and went to the shower to clean the grime off myself. Both Gabby and Victoria did the same. After I finished the shower, I dressed in something for the pod. I didn't go straight away and went to my computer. I saw Victoria in the room with a laptop talking at a conference. She was dressed casually while everyone else was dressed in business suits. I ignored them and went to my computer to look over my emails. I saw some reports about the growth of investments. Some about my businesses, but all those went ignored as I pulled up the three resumes.

Chris did his job no matter how slowly. I like the guy, and I wanted the same speed he found Gabby. I opened them up and took a look at the first resume. I believe it was a woman by the name of Li Wang. She was a nutritionist with some renown. She was looking to leave the main celebrity scene after a bad break up with a model. Chris added a note here that, in the interviews, she said she was never in a relationship with the Male celebrity, but the wife was the one making baseless accusations. She wanted to leave the scene because the news was blowing up on her, though. She wanted out once and for all. This was a black spot on her record, and honestly, I couldn't care about the celebrity shit. I didn't want private stuff getting out. I need would to make contact with some of my contacts in the media for the real story. I thought about her, and the rest of her resume was stellar. Chris would not have forwarded her without a lot of checking into this.

I set that one aside and pulled up the next. It was a chef leaving the scene. He was a five-star chef that was looking for something less stressful. He had two kids and a wife to look after and thought this was the perfect pick up. I wanted something to live in, though, and the applicant said that was fine. Either he could live with us and see his kids and wife during the day or commute early. His food reviews were amazing, and this man probably was taking a downgrade in pay to do this. My main problem was that a five-star chef in my home was a bit overkill as well. The more I thought about it, the more this became apparent. A nutritionist or a dietician would help Victoria too. She would be able to talk about the effects of the pod with them. This killed two birds with one stone.

I put the resume aside for now and looked at the last resume. Based on the name, it was a woman named Lexus. She was a Dietician with years in the sports area. She had years of experience with Tennis players, Boxers, and MMA. The list actually went down. She was looking for somewhere to settle down, not in the game anymore. The reasons for that were unclear as I looked over Chris's files. She was an unknown person. I looked at it frowning. She had the experience and expertise to make the salary I was handing out. Her resume was good as well, but I wouldn't say I liked it that much.

This left me with Li Wang. I decided that I won't choose in a vacuum and waited for Victoria to finish her conference call. I didn't even have to wait long. She was done two minutes after I turned to her. She smiled and walked over after shutting her laptop closed.

"Anything interesting?" I asked. She kissed me and shook her head.

"Nah, Just getting some equipment moved and all that jazz. The experiments being here made some people question things. I told them where they could shove it. You don't look happy with the resumes Chris sent you."

I sighed, "No, not really. The first is a Li Wang, Sounds like a woman, not that I care. But she has a black mark. The Second is a man that I forgot the name of. He is a bit overqualified. He has a family, though, and they will not be moving in. He doesn't fulfill the basic requirement, in my opinion. Then there is Lexus. I think a woman as well. She makes my instinct react, though. There a reason she is leaving her industry. Even Chris couldn't find out why. That probably means there a story I will not like. Is the problem with her or one of the athletes? I am not sure, but I don't think I am willing to risk it. That leaves Li Wang. I have to say I am disappointed with Chris this time."

"Well," Victoria looked over my shoulder at the resume for Li Wang. She frowned and then nodded. "I understand. Look into some of your media contacts, see what they say. Check if everything kosher, and maybe tomorrow night, we can invite her. Don't stay too long on those emails. Iona and Gloom are waiting. She smirked, and we kissed again. It was refreshing our kisses, and she broke away back to her laptop. She had a wicked smile as she looked at things. My spine shivered, but I ignored it as I sent out emails to my many contacts asking for information asap.

I heard a couple of mischievous giggles behind me as I finished. Victoria was up to something. I walked over, and she closed her laptop with a mischievous smile. "Let's go game, Rick!" She exclaimed, and I nodded. I felt that something was going to come of this. We passed by Gabby, who looked to be about to go out for something. She told us to have a good day of gaming as we passed.

I was in my room shortly after as the pod lid slowly closed above me. Another day as Elli, I thought with a smile.

I awoke to a crusty body dried on s.p.e.r.m on me. Time for a shower, I thought. I got up and felt a presence behind me. I felt them as I entered into the shower behind me. It was going to be a fun morning, I thought.
