   Chu Shuangyan mistook Siyu’s astonishment as fear. She suddenly turned complacent and coldly snorted, “ Ground beetles 1 like you could only curry favors with people of power. I suppose you have never heard the name ‘Fifth Master Lu’, right?

   Siyu: …… what a coincidence. Not only had she heard his name, she was also very familiar with it.

Riel: the IQ and EQ of supporting characters in Chinese novels are always questionable. From which angle that astonishment looks similar to fear? Furthermore, they always grab every chance to ridicule the FL, only to be face-slapped chapters later. Can’t they just interact nicely?

If the ending for CSY, is for her to be cast away from her rich life and her glory-filled job in the entertainment circle or the usual ending for evil side characters with no character development for CSY, I’d be so mad and disappointed.

土鳖子 – ground beetle –  it means several things; 1) someone who’s behind the times, 2) someone who’s simple or isn’t really cultured, 3) someone who can’t open their eyes to reality, 4) someone who did something bad but yet pretends to be good, 5) someone who takes advantage of the sweat of other people or student returning from abroad. With regards to context, I think the definition most appropriate is most probably 1,2, or 4?
