Chapter 87: Dark Clouds underground

Underground City / Downtown

Mini Guild Building / Hall

Major Office located behind Guild Building. However, the access to enter is now closed without reason.

Mini Guild Building only has one hall, and the hall being filled with confused people.

"Let us get in!"

"Why we are not allowed to enter the Major Office?!"

Everyone in the aula keep asking the same thing on, "why we cannot enter the Major Building?"

The only Guild Receptionist in charge can only give an answer: "Sorry for the inconvenience. The access to the Major Office is now closed under the Key Holder authority."

Major Office building is 5x bigger than Guild Building. That is public buildings everyone can enter.

Key Holder is a person in charge of guarding the building. He is also the Major of Underground City, a Diamond Hunter. But now he hides inside the Major Office building and prohibiting anyone from entering.

Outside of the guild building, almost all the people of the underground city gathered there. That includes Diana's group.

"Looks like we can't enter the Major Office."

Diana had expected that. With the emersion frequency of the fog, underground folks will be gathered in downtown.

But there are a few odd things as the time is going on; The fog begins to change its colour to dark, like dark clouds. The dark clouds couldn't reach the guild building area, including the Major Office.

That is also the reason why people gathered in mini guild building area.

Mini Guild Building doesn't have Guild Guardian. Because mini guild building actually not exists in this underground in the first place. It exists now because of past Legend Hunters and Staff Saint hard work.

"How is it, Miss Diana?" asked Elisa.

Diana could not think of anything when the situation that confusing.

"Dark clouds in underground? Locked major office?"

It seems like the situation will lead them to a trap, and the trap is pointing right at their head.

"Time to change the plan. We need to get the two of you out from this city."

That sudden change of plan surprised Elisa and Liam, especially for Liam.

"But, what about my dad?!"

Diana looks at Liam with a sturdy face. "I'm sorry, Liam, but we can't begin to search for your father when the situation is like this. We need to secure you two first."

"But I don't need protection! I can protect myself! I even want to help if there is something I can help!"

Liam denied Diana's proposal. That made Elisa shocks a little. Well, that was natural because Liam is a growing up young man.

But Diana cannot allow such selfless choice of act.

"Listen, Liam, we still don't know what is going on. We can't even find what was going on with this city right now. There is no choice but to wait until the fog is gone. However, while we are still doing that, enemies we don't know about will surely attack us. We are in the middle in this underground, and with all this confusion, it is the perfect place and time to slaughter us all. That is why, I want to secure you two first, then maybe, I will give you quest to call all the Hunter in other mountains. Understand?"

That was a fully detailed explanation. Liam cannot argue with anything Diana had said.

"If you understand, then we must take leave quickly when we still can see the road."

Diana starts walking back to the terminal. Elisa follows her, but the young man in the group hesitates at first.

Major Office /

"Hhhnnnggggg!"

Inside the major office, inhuman behavior is being done on the Major.

"How do you like that, ha?!"

"Hhnnnngggggg!"

A few Black Coat people enjoy themselves inside the Major Office. One is lying on the sofa, one is sitting relaxed in Major's chair, and one is enjoying tormenting the Major.

"Stop torturing him. I'm starting to feel bad about him," said a woman in the black coat group.

"Just kill him already," said a heavy voice man.

"Haha, no I won't! Didn't you guys remember what we had to get through when we conquering this underground?! After we conquered it, and lost a lot, those motherfvcking folks, and this piece of shit can life a peaceful life! But! They casually left us heroes in the darkness! When they can life a peaceful life! Well, yes, that's a good thing because that means our sacrifice paid off. But still! They don't seem to appreciate the sacrifices we have made! Isn't that so selfish?!"

The man who likes to torment the Major has a really high temper. That is why he always scream when talking.

"Uilya!" calls the high temper man to his female colleague. "You lost your lover because he takes part on conquering this underground city, right?!"

Uilya starts screaming hysterically when her lover got mentioned.

"Stop mentioning about him, you fool! You make me sad, dumbass!"

The high temper man didn't give a thing to Uilya feeling.

"See!? We lost our lover, our body part, and even our life! But look at this piece of shit when we asked about his responsible on the sacrifice we have done!"

The high temper man untied the mouth of Major.

When his mouth was released, Major took a breath first. Losing two arms and a leg that had just been cut off drained him to death.

When he finally calming down, Major has a thing to say for them. "You are crazy."

"SEE!"

The high temper man kicked the Major fell to the ground.

The Major still being tied in his torment chair. In lying sideways position, the speed at which the blood exiting the severed body part accelerated.

His mouth finally untied, and he can scream to seek help, but losing so much when being tormented made the Major lost his sense of life too. He gave up on his life. Now he just waiting for death to take him away.

"This is why I hate them so much! Conor, let's just execute the plan already!"

In front of the office window, stood a disabled man using a stick. He gently looked out of the window, looking at the bewildered crowd of underground people, seeking an answer on what was going on.

"No, not yet. We must let them feel the horror much longer, before we give them a more gruesome death.

"You're so cruel as always, huh!"

"Well, between the four of us, he is the one who lost much more."

"Pain makes someone stronger. Suffer makes someone cruel."

In the horror that was unfolding, the four of them hid in the shadows. Waiting for the right moment to launch their attack.

__________

Liam still doubting if he should obey Diana's order.

There, Elisa tries to persuade him.

"Come one, Liam. Don't worry, we will find your father. Ars might be not with us, but I'm sure he is doing what he can do."

Liam still doubting, but then he remembers the Greedy Young Master that on their side. The strongest person he know after his father.

Liam finally raised his head. "I'm sorry. Alright, let's go."

Their group finally enters the fog once more.

"Miss Diana, is it just me, or the fog is getting darker as we go deeper?"

Diana realized that even before. Plus, she couldn't feel any fresh air that should be entering the underground. It was like the only ventilation this underground has being closed.

"Hold my hands, you two."

Diana and Liam did what Diana told them to.

As they go deeper into the dark clouds, towards the end of the underground city, to the mine cart terminal, Diana finds it harder to see.

Until she realized what place they are in.

Your balance starts to waver as you keep trying to stay awake.

The surrounding darkness continues to grow darkest. You even start to hallucinate when a few silhouettes see you walking.

Then you ask:

"Why did this phenomenon occur suddenly?"

You are very familiar with this phenomenon because it is the same phenomenon as the one in the Floor 2 Abyss Pit. A Saint you know calls this phenomenon; the Void.

This phenomenon is known to eat up your soul if you don't have strong faith.

All black figures that see you walking are part of that phenomenon. Apart from the darkness that seemed like it was boundless, all black figures were an even more dangerous existence. They will continue to follow you from behind as you move forward.

You continue to hold tightly the two hands holding onto you. Wish they had fallen asleep by the time you escorted them out of the dark.

[In the Floor 2 Abyss Pit, no Abyssal Mana can enter. Because of that, Abyssal Citizens will feel sleepy and fall asleep when passing this place.]

You hope that diversion has an effect on the two youngsters you brought with you.

You feel a little guilty because from the start you know that you have to go through this phenomenon to get out of Underground City. But you feel you have no other choice.

You feel the path you are taking now is easier than what you will face later. Where the two youngsters you bring will see an even more gruesome sight.

[We don't have a choice but to move forward]

You keep repeating that word mentioned a certain Saint as you continue to move forward.

[This Void is our strongest enemy. But gladly, we don't have to fight them.]

You keep going. Even though the black existence that sees and follows you continue to grow.

[The existences within the Void are abnormalities. They are seeking the truth of what happened to them; I believe.]

All the gazes from those existences asked the same thing.

"What have we done to deserve all of this?"

But you don't have the answers to all their questions. You can't even answer the simplest question in the world, 'why were you born in this world?'

Putting all those things aside, you keep moving forward.

[Believe, there will be the end of this darkness. Believe.]
