Chapter 60: Little Confrontation

West Station / Guild Building

South Hall / Morning

Day after the battling the Catastrophe /

Every active Hunter gathered in the meeting will record new data about the Catastrophe Event that just happened, and the Evolved Father Tree.

Lucas, Shawn, and Jordan are the three leaders who chaired the small democracy meeting.

Ian the Silver Warhammer and his party are guests only allowed to watch, or provide opinions and suggestions when being asked / permitted.

The female moderator who sits among the leaders cleared her throat, signaling that they would hold the meeting.

"All right, please pay attention, we will hold the meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to record new data about the Catastrophe event that happened yesterday to this floor, and the new boss, namely the Evolved Father Tree (temporary name)."

The moderator does something on the holographic monitor that everyone can see. She opened a document file called [Catastrophe (Event)].

[Catastrophe: A major event that occurs at least once a year that befalls a region. This event will bring up a very strong Catastrophe Boss. This event always leaves a lot of damage. This event will always get more difficult every time a Big Update patch (every year change) occurs. The factor for the emergence of this disaster triggered by [Catastrophe Omen] infecting someone. [Catastrophe Omen] believed to be obtained when someone or a party of Hunters spam a raid in an area.]

[<<<<<Staff Saint>>>>>]

"The note above was first recorded by Saint Staff, 6 years ago. And last modified a year ago. Do leaders have instructions to change / or add data regarding the notes above?"

Lucas, Shawn, and Jordan began to remember if there was any new data they could put in the log.

Shawn, who mostly monitored when the fight occurred, raised his voice.

"For now, it looks like we should separate the records regarding the Catastrophe that happened on the Lower Floor from the one on the 1st Floor."

Jordan agreed with the statement. "The 1st floor only has 3 hunting areas and two small settlements. This actually minimizes the possibility of Catastrophe. We also don't know if Catastrophe will hit this Floor again next year."

Lucas also has something to say. "Most importantly, we must make a ban so that no one or any party wants to spam the raid on this peaceful Floor."

Everyone already knows that the Catastrophe this time caused by Greedy Young Master. Together with Randy's Party, they spammed raids at Giant Leaf Woods.

"Besides, why did they have to spam raid in a small place like this? If they are that strong, why don't they just go to the 3rd Floor?" added Lucas, expressing his frustration.

"Let's put the Greedy Young Master aside," Shawn took over the meeting. "For now, just make a new record regarding [Floor 1 Catastrophe], with a description like this."

[Floor 1 Catastrophe: The arrival of this disaster being triggered by [Catastrophe Omen] infecting a person. When [Catastrophe Omen] is in Abyssal's protection, or outside the 1st Floor area, Catastrophe will target Abyssal Citizens who are outside Abyssal's protection. It is not yet known whether Catastrophe will mess around blindly, or calm down because there is no target they can aim for]

Everyone seems to agree on the record with the interim data.

Jordan has a question. "The last sentence on the note ... ah, no, it's nothing."

Previously, Jordan wanted to doubt whether that last sentence is needed? However, because the moment was still ambiguous, and its certainty was unknown, no one denied the existence of the last sentence in the notes.

Shawn looked around, and no one intended to give instructions. But somehow, Lucas looked at him with a questioning expression.

"Hey," Ian finally spoke up, "Greedy whoever it is that I heard a lot today, did he really conquer the Catastrophe alone?"

Ian couldn't believe it when Lucas said that the western Hunter party conquered Catastrophe. But it's a different story if there is a third party with a mysterious figure he has never heard of.

"Well, why did we have to lie? If not because of him, maybe the three of us and all the Hunters who took part in the battle yesterday wouldn't be able to sit here," Shawn replied.

"We might be able to save the residents of the Gates Village and the Agricultural Village. But in return, the entire village and also us will definitely get destroyed if that person doesn't come," added Jordan. "If you ask me, I still can't believe it tho, because before he was on the 2nd Floor, and he said he climbed Adam Tree and jumped over the Abyss Pit to get back to this Floor."

Such stories could only be heard when the Saints were still active, and Troy the Gluttony, the First Emperor, was still living on the 2nd Floor.

Ian would either laugh because he doubted the story, or laugh because of a lie that sounded serious.

Because the topic of the meeting was slightly off the mark, Shawn took over again.

"Very well, since no one has any more instructions regarding the [Floor 1 Catastrophe] record, I will assume that we all agree with the writing and ratification of this note."

Note takers - Writer Specialists, who sits at a separate table next to the meeting table, jot the temporary notes onto a piece of paper. Then the paper being handed over to the guild reception desk.

A few moments after the note was received, all Hunters' Hunter Bracelets sounded a sign that there is an incoming notification from the Guild itself.

[<<<<<Floor 1, West Abyssal Hunters>>>>>]

The new sentence in the note indicated that the note had gone through the legalization process and had been approved by the Guild.

"Very well, after the meeting regarding the note-writing of [Floor 1 Catastrophe] is over, we will continue to the next session. Writing notes Evolved Father Tree (temporary name)."

"Above is the note that Leader Shawn had written in advance. Do the other two leaders have instructions regarding the above notes?"

Lucas, Jordan, and everyone else looked amazed and shocked at the same time by the note.

Jordan has a question. "Shawn, where did you get this complete data?"

Shawn expected someone to ask that question.

"Before that, I want you, especially someone," Shawn pointed to Lucas, "to control your emotions while the meeting is still going on, outside of that it's up to you. Actually, I got that data from Sir Hwang, and the Greedy Young Master directly."

Lucas remembered, yesterday afternoon, his colleague came to Hwang on top of the corpse Evolved Father Tree. He didn't think that the jerk he hated was also there.

Next door, Jordan was in awe of the name giver. "But, Grandfather Tree, I couldn't have thought of a name this cool before."

Ian laughed wryly. "Difficulty 7, Intelligence 6, and Unlimited Regen. You must really have a hard time dealing with a boss like that on this Floor."

Jordan laughed wryly, too. "I didn't go against that giant, but hearing the AOE damage he did just gave me goosebumps."

"Lucas and his boys probably wouldn't have survived without Randy," added Shawn.

Again, the topic was slightly off the mark, meaning no one wanted to give instructions.

"So, can we legalize that record?" asked Shawn to confirm.

"How about it, Lucas?" Jordan asked Lucas. "Nothing? So we all agree on the writing of the note."

The writers immediately processed writing notes regarding the new monster data. After that, they submitted the second new record to the Guild.

New data regarding the [Grandfather Tree] records sent into everyone's Hunter Bracelet.

Lucas hadn't wanted to talk because he wanted to confirm something. Then, when he was sure of his decision, he finally spoke up.

"I don't really mind anything."

Lucas's voice caught the attention of those near the conference table.

"Oh, you finally want to speak up?" asked Jordan happily.

"But, let me say this." Lucas took a moment to pause before continuing. "Fck you, Shawn."
