Chapter 126: Battle of the Long Night

"Leader!"

All the women hunters surrounding worried with their leader's condition. Previously, she was right in front of the explosion. She is tough, but who would have thought what would happen if she received that unpleasant attack just like that?

As the smoke from the explosion just now slowly dissipated, one person stood up straight despite receiving an attack as big as just now.

"Sylvia!" Veora immediately ran to their leader. "Are you okay?!"

Sylvia didn't look like she had any injuries. But she is trembling while holding the Blue Sky Sword. Trembling with anger.

"I should have killed that piece of shit right away."

The tone that Sylvia used sounded calm, but there is deep anger within it.

It's rare for Sylvia to be that angry.

How is it not?

There is a strange unpleasant crazy man infiltrate her town that she guard and threaten the lives of her people.

It was really surprising. During the festival, the town is on the highest alert and its safety is guaranteed.

Successfully infiltrating it would mean insulting the system and the town's leaders.

"Get me one of that broadcasting device!"

___________

Everyone is in confusion.

There is a strange crazy man successfully infiltrating the town and declares war (maybe) with them. Then from his previous position, an explosion occurred and there is no more news about him after that.

Shortly after the explosion, from the three points outside the town, black smoke emitted 1 boss dungeon and 2 boss regions.

That never happened as long as Floor 2 is completely conquered.

Killing one of them is not an easy work. Let alone three.

Suddenly, the broadcaster glasses tube is on again. Now broadcasting the leader of Shield Town, Sylvia Shield herself. She seems to be in the place where the strange, crazy man was.

"Listen, Hunters! There is no need to be afraid of that shitty black hunter's threat. Those three boss monsters weren't a big threat to the town as long as we are in Guild Protection."

The words from Sylvia Shield were a little unpleasant to hear. As she is the town's leader. But everyone does not have high hopes for her because they already know her nature.

Plus, what she said was true. As long as they are in Guild Protection, their lives will be guaranteed safety.

"But of course, it does not apply to people who are outside the town."

On that moment, everyone is in the town. There are about 9k of them. Of course 4000 of them live or own tents outside the town.

Sylvia Shield didn't want to notice it, but maybe their temporary shelter are being destroyed by the bosses.

"However, as long as we didn't trigger them, they will not attack us. So those on the outside must be safe as long as they don't – "

Right before Sylvia Shield could finish her words – there is an explosion from the north.

The guards on the north wall saw what was going on, and they got goosebumps.

There, Sylvia muted the device and directed it to the sky. Leaving the people in curious. Then she received a transmitter from the north guards.

"Report! The Lizard King head to the north outpost! It seems there is something that triggered him!"

The reporter guard talk while shivering.

Sylvia expected that to happen, though not so fast.

"How is the condition?" asked her.

There is a gap of five to ten second the guards become silent. Then they made a strange sound that seemed scared.

"Talk, what happened to the north outpost?" asked her again.

"T-t-th-there are lizardmen-thing in the outpost."

"Lizardmen-thing? Talk more clearly!"

"They chopped up everyone on the north post. Then the chops of those people turned into some kind of warrior of darkness(?)"

The guard's words didn't make any sense. But Sylvia didn't expect things to make sense either.

After that, she closed the communication and turned to a few of her subordinates.

"Command to other four-wind direction guards to look at other outpost and report the situation."

The several subordinates appointed give salute, then immediately running to their position inside the office.

"What will we do to save them?" asked Veora.

The people at the outpost, who are all guards of the town, are indeed only a little. But she is still worried about their condition.

"They could no longer be saved."

Veora expected Sylvia would say that. But she still was not ready to hear it.

Most likely the lizardmen-thing is from the Black Hunters group led by Jared. It is also very likely that they already take control of another outpost and massacred the people in it.

Veora didn't want to think about that terrible thing too much. As they have to be calm and think about more people in the town.

Sylvia is back to the broadcasting device.

All the people immediately focused back at her.

"All the situation may be confusing. But we all hunters. We are born to fight this world's game. Now, as this town's major, I ask your cooperation to solve all this situation together. For all Platinum and Gold Hunters, or even above it, let's meet in the North Hall of the Guild. Of course, this is an invitation. Whether you want to come or not is yours to choose."

Sylvia ends the broadcast and immediately head to the west district, to the guild.

But when they passed the town's gate border, she stopped her right hand.

"You stay here. Look after the church. Don't let anyone passed you."

That becomes Sylvia's last words before departing.

Veora didn't know why her leader gave her that order. The only thing she needs to do is do the job well.

____________

"Aiden, what about us?!" "Yeah, should we head back to the committee office or what?!"

All the strong Hunters had gone to the guild to fulfill their summons.

On the other side, the four young knights confused on where should they go?

"Let's get back to the church."

However, their leader has decided their destination.

Don't want to ask why? They immediately ran to return to their home.

Arriving in the middle of the city, there are many hunters gathered. They all put on their expensive equipment, ready to fight.

Inside the North Hall, the Diamond Hunter of the town must be leading the conference.

They are curious about how the meeting is going, but their priority now is the church.

"Hold up, youngster!"

When they want to pass the town's border gate, they got stopped by one certain familiar female hunter.

"Miss Veora!"

The four of them wore committee clothes, but Veora could immediately realize who they are.

"You boys are, the sword class disciples?"

"Yes!" "Please let us through!" "We want to go back to church!"

Veora wants to allow them. But then she will defy her leader's order. Plus, because of the incident with Jared before, she isn't sure that the four of them are the real ones.

Veora understand on orders given by Sylvia not to let anyone pass her – get into the east district. If this is the case, it will be very dangerous to the east district.

"Miss Veora?"

However, the four youngster realizing Veora's doubt and asked.

"Why, Big Madam?" "You know us, right? We are the church children!" "Please let us through."

The twins wanted to rush in. But Veora immediately stopped them with her sword to prevent their way.

They got shocked on the East District Superior's strange act.

Veora feels very guilty for what she did to them. But she has no choice.

"Please, understand. For now, no one could enter the east district in Major's order."

The Big Madam has said that, and they can't argue with it. Because that is the Major's order.

"Harry, Henry!"

Aiden ordered them to step back and talk about it.

"What's with the nonsense order?!" "We just wanted to get back home!"

"Hey, calm down. We all want to come back. But things like this are normal for a leader to protect her territory."

"What do you mean, Aiden?" asked Kane.

At that question, Aiden looked up, looking at the explosion that had occurred within the town before.

"Aware of another intruder."

The three of them got shocked at the statement.

"So they think." "We are the part of those black hunters?!"

"Most likely, yes. The previous strange crazy man not caught by the radar barrier. Then why should they trust four youngsters to go to the most important place of the town?"

They are a little angry at that statement, but it made some sense to be accepted.

"For now, let's just stay in this district until the situation become calmer."

Aiden's wise choice made his three friends feel at ease.

Until something happens in the sky.

"Hey, look at that!"

One person pointed at the flying Deadly Vulture that is a moment earlier got shocked by some kind of dark fire balls.

The Deadly Vultures scream in anger. Then, when it flying towards the church, it let out blackish green powder along with its hideously shaped fur. All of those things had a negative effect on the ground where they fell, and they fell right on top of the church.

Everyone suddenly hysterical at that.

For the four young knights, they got goosebumps and reflexively run to the town's border gate and faced its guardian once again.

"Big Madam, please!" "Our home and family are in danger!"

Veora knows that and understands the youngster's feeling. "But what can only four of you do?"

"We are church's sword!" "We will protect it to the end!"

"Church's sword?"

There is a tone of vicious curiosity to the question.

The twins immediately realized that they just said things that exaggerate their figure.

[Church's Sword: is the Shield and Spear of the Church. None other than the Sword Saint]

For they talked like they are in the Sword Saint's level –

"Isn't that very arrogant of you, Sword Disciples?"

Veora is one of those Sword Saint's follower. The twin's word before is like an insult of the person she adores.

"We are sorry." "We did not mean to say that."

Veora knows they accidentally said that. Being controlled by spirit and worry made them very rushed into doing something.

There, the smartest of them stand forward while holding his folding stick backwards. Quietly surprising, he made the folding stick floating in midair.

"I ensure you, Madam Veora, nobody mastered Sword Castering in this town apart from us and Master Arsen."

Veora hadn't seen it yet, but she did know about Sword Castering, which could make the sword float solidly in the air.

Unexpectedly, the other three sword disciples followed their leader's steps. Trying to convince Veora that they are the children from the church and not anyone else.

That method silenced Veora and made her have to trust them.

The four young knights await the superior's decision. That time, whatever was decided, they prepared themselves to be ready to accept any decision.

"Alright, you can pass."

Finally, they being permitted.

"But, if there is something happens to the church, make sure to give a report to us."

The four young knights broke their smiles. Gives salutes, then immediately runs to the east district.

Behind, Veora felt great guilt towards her leader.

"That is why, I'm counting on you, young knights."
