Throne Of Time

Chapter 67 - 66 - HVT Escort (1)

'The heroes intercepted a hidden vehicle transporting an HVT from an underling of the League of Villains. My job is to protect this vehicle from possible attacks and safe-keeping the item or person until the extraction point.' Kurumi's clone thought about what she got ȧssigned as she went out of the group hiding spot.

'Do they want me dead?' thought the clone.

It's not to blame her. This mission is not something a single person can face. Facing an entire raid of heroes, it's suicide unless you are the strongest person in the world with the power to nullify every other power.

There will possibly be tens of heroes, each with its unique Quirk and intelligence.

But right after she denied this idea that came to her mind, it's not possible to want her dead, at least right now. She has too many uses for them, and eliminating her right now would only be counterproductive.

This thing means only one possible situation.

'They want to test me...' the clone was shocked at this idea; she would have never expected someone to test her—especially not this late in this organization.

'Are they not scared I will reveal about them to the heroes?' She can't help but think about this thing.

Even if she doesn't know some specific secure information, having been part of this group for some months now, she knows a lot, and every piece of information she has is valuable.

"Interesting," this time, the clone spoke since there was no one near her.

After that, she immediately contacted her own body. She knows the group will never spy on her, not even checking the phone, not to mention this is a separate phone that not even the group knows its existence.

After a few rings, someone on the other end finally accepted the call. Kurumi's clone knows that the original took her call. For this reason, she spoke about what she obtained, or in this case, given.

The reaction of the original Kurumi was the same as what the clone thought it would be. After all, they are the same person, and what they feel are usually the same things.

"Do the mission. You don't have to care about hiding your abilities. Use them openly, and show a bit of what this organization can do to the heroes' eyes. They will not do anything. After all, you completed the mission. At the same time, you will get their appreciation," the original Kurumi said on the phone. The clone was silent, listening to what the original was saying.

After some minutes, the call was interrupted, she got to know everything there was to know, and the only remaining thing to do is complete this mission.

HVT? She is curious. After all, HVT stands for High-Value Target. It can be a particular object or an important person.

Both of them must have importance to the leader's eyes, but at the same time, it can be a useless thing for him just put there to test her. Every possible thing here it's possible to happen.

Even if the unknown can lead to uncertain events, it's a nice touch to a monotonous life.

. . .

"So that is the vehicle?" Kurumi's clone observed the black SUV parked in an alley.

There weren't many guards around it, probably around two or three, each with a black suit, but each of them had extremely serious gazes, and from their behavior, no one of those three is weak. Their bodies reveal someone that practiced combat.

For this reason, the clone walked slowly towards them, "alarming" them in the process.

At the precise moment when they saw Kurumi's clone near them, everyone got immediately ready to attack, but what Kurumi's clone said blocked them in their places.

"Ara ~ Ara ~ what a funny gathering we have here, do you perhaps ~ have ~ a ~ HVT ~?" the clone said in a joking tone of voice.

Just that the clone words made everyone decide to attack her, even if they can't decide who she is, the other party's words were dangerous. She could have been both from the hero party and another rival.

With a solemn gaze, a crimson red long-haired woman stomped with her feet on the ground. Her pink eyes had killing intent in them, to which Kurumi's clone smiled.

From her feet, spikes larger than even one meter, made of the ground, emerged, rushing towards Kurumi's clone speedily.

The clone became shadow with her magic, dodging thus the attack, but not even a fraction of a second later, another person, a guy with short silver hair, attacked her.

He waved in the air with both of his hands. This action caused what seemed to be ripples in the space. After that simple gesture, considerable pressure arrived on top of Kurumi's clone.

This time, even if in shadow form, Kurumi's clone smile was gone because it's no air pressure but space powers. How can she not be familiar with space? She has an attack that causes space shocks.

Kurumi's clone calculated that he must have done his best without leaving a gap in his abilities seeing the guy's solemn eyes. Space powers are not a joke. Even if space is not at the level of time powers, it is still a power that can't be controlled easily.

Still, even this attack did not do anything to her, she is not immune to space attacks, but this level can't harm her.

After "playing" with them enough, the clone finally emerged from the ground.

Smiling, she said, "I was sent here by the League of Villains to help to escort this High-Value Target."

Like machines, everyone put their defenses down when the clone said the League of Villains sent her. No third party knows that the League of Villains is behind this HVT. The heroes know only that a villain group has to escort a precious and probably dangerous target. For this reason, they stopped attacking.

The only person that before did not say anything, this time went ahead, to face the clone.

"We have waited for enough. I hope you are not a dead weight," the man said in an icy-cold tone of voice before turning back towards the SUV entering in from behind.

Kurumi's clone stayed silent, looking at that person. She did not say anything. The only thing that moved was her eyes that looked at him.

The other two people that attacked her did not say anything. One went in the driver seat, while the other jumped in the back, like the presumable leader.

For this reason, the clone went ahead and entered the SUV together with the one that went to drive. In a not so fast way, the SUV joined the street and started traveling towards the destination.

In a building, a person looked at the black SUV leaving in the street calmly with binoculars. After seeing that the vehicle went away, he stopped looking.

Taking out a phone from his pocket, he called someone, "Yes, the SUV left.... According to the plan, the operation can begin!"
