The Way of The Dao

872 A Taboo Technique?

A figure suddenly appeared above the sky of a small town, staying among the clouds without anyone being able to notice him.

Ling Tian's gaze fell upon the town and his spirit sense completely scanned the place. The power of the Sacred Heavenly Scriptures enveloped his body, allowing him to fly silently.

Having traveled through space, moving by way of the spatial principle, Ling Tian arrived in a few hours at the place where Tang Jingtian was when he reported to Mu Shen.

"Things with brother Shen were already settled, so brother Jingtian is missing..." Ling Tian said as he quickly scanned the small city, noticing that the strongest aura seemed to be at the golden core realm.

Seeing that the previous situation had taken an expected outcome, Ling Tian did not want to get involved with them anymore as they had a lot to talk about, so he left quietly knowing that Mu Shen and the women would be fine from now on.

Ling Tian had left several cultivation resources in the storage ring, as well as artifacts and spiritual tools that would help them escape if any unpredictable arose like what happened to the Guiyan family.

The thoughts of these two brothers to become strong was understood perfectly by Ling Tian, as he had also wanted to become strong very desperately in the past. Therefore, he left Mu Shen everything that could be of help to him to take his own way with his women.

Now only Tang Jingtian was missing; Ling Tian would do the same, see how Tang Jingtian and his wives were doing, make sure they were well to finally go on with his own thing of returning to the east state when he knew that his disciples had already left the south state.

"They are not here..." Ling Tian frowned when he found no trace of Tang Jingtian and the girls, but he could faintly sense a bit of their faint auras, indicating that they had indeed been in this place.

The spirit sense concentrated on the traces left by Tang Jingtian and company, picking up a faint direction leaving the small town.

Ling Tian quickly followed the trail left by Tang Jingtian.

"Primordial Inner Chi Origin Realm?""

Along the way while following Tang Jingtian's aura, Ling Tian muttered while keeping a frown.

The book Mu Shen had found about the [Cultivation Instantaneous Burst Secret Technique], it was a skill that allowed the cultivator to obtain a strength exceeding their own cultivation base in an instant, in exchange for entering a weakened state afterwards and the time varied according to the constant use of the technique.

Surprisingly it was a high-level technique, so the more one managed to master the technique, one could even manage to increase one's strength by almost two great realms in an instant, also depending a bit on the current level. But in return for this, if one did not master the technique correctly, the cultivation base would be harmed and damaged, and in severe cases, the cultivation base would be reduced by several levels to the point where the base would be destroyed and one would become a cripple!

Ling Tian did not keep the book and instead left advice on the technique to Mu Shen, as he had found it himself and it was his right to decide what to do. Obviously Ling Tian advised him about not using this technique if it wasn't necessary, and that he had to study it and master it to perfection if he didn't want to have problems with his cultivation base in the future.

However, what had Ling Tian most intrigued was that he had vaguely recalled a bit of information about the Primordial Inner Chi Origin Realm when he saw the [Cultivation Instantaneous Burst Secret Technique], but he wasn't sure if it was a cultivation method, a divine level technique or skill.

The only thing Ling Tian was sure of was that this is a taboo technique!

"Taboo cultivation technique? I only know that these secret methods or technique are so powerful that even the highest level techniques in the same world cannot compete with them... but the consequence of using these techniques is that you will face the wrath of heaven forever and die without a doubt."

Ling Tian took a cold breath the more he thought about the name of this taboo technique, as this was the only thing he knew. The tiny sliver of information that came with the name of this technique expressed very well that it was a real taboo technique.

Even in the records of the Immortal World, Ling Tian did not find much much information about these taboo techniques or methods, as they dated back several ages, even being recorded as legends since no one had ever encountered any of these techniques. But what little he did find was that supposedly individuals who cultivated these kinds of powerful techniques achieved tremendous power that could even shake the heavens at their pinnacle, being invincible among their peers, but because of that, the road they had to travel was utter hell!

If in itself the general path of cultivation is something that goes against the heavens, facing obstacles and overcoming adversities of any kind, these common paths in the end are nothing compared to those who decide to enter the path of taboo!

The strength granted by these techniques or cultivation methods go directly against the heavens, even granting the opportunity to face the heavens themselves on equal footing if they were to succeed in cultivating in depth!

That is why the heavens would not endure let alone accept the strength obtained from these people, so the will of the heavens would fall directly upon these individuals until they died before they reached their limit!

Therefore, these kinds of powerful techniques were considered taboo techniques, because they are forbidden by the heavens!

The more Ling Tian thought about it, the stranger he felt. Why would he remember this kind of forbidden technique? In his past life he cultivated this taboo technique? Could it be that... he had to cultivate it in this life as well?

Ling Tian did not know more about this taboo technique, let alone what it consisted of, but at this moment, his deepest intuition urged him to remember about this technique, as if he wanted him to use it.

"I really don't have any other different options?" Ling Tian smiled bitterly, wondering if what he perceived from his intuition was the way to go.

Ever since he awakened his dragon soul, his past life, vague memories containing information and feelings began to surface at certain times, which stunned Ling Tian and left him somewhat unsatisfied at the same time. He did not control or decide what memories to receive at those moments, he even tried to read various things or concentrate on certain techniques, hoping to receive some information related to what he read, but all was in vain.

And although if he tried to concentrate deeply he could attract a shred of information, it was not enough.

Ling Tian could only wait for these causal encounters and moments to happen more frequently, that way, he would have more information from his past life and thus more powerful techniques that seemed to be of a divine level, such as the exercise of the [Tai Chi Technique].

Perhaps he could even awaken another very powerful force or ability, as well as the ability to summon the [Void Sword].

But Ling Tian shook his head and sighed; somehow, the will of the heavens towards him was not normal from the beginning, nothing similar like any ordinary cultivator, he even had the feeling that the same will of the heavens followed him everywhere since he entered the path of cultivation, waiting for the moment when he lets his guard down or is at his worst to crush him in an instant. The latter has already happened to him several times.

It was as if the heavens really wanted him dead at all costs even though he was currently a cripple, putting aside his body strength by refining his body and of course, the Sacred Heavenly Scriptures.

If Ling Tian decided to learn this taboo technique and cultivate it, he is practically declaring his full conviction to directly face against the heavens, and the outcome can only result in one winner: overcoming the might of the heavens, or his own death.

However, Ling Tian strangely felt that the will of the heavens had diminished lately, as he did not feel eyes on him all the time. But this only made his intuition intensified, increasing the sense of danger gradually.

"Uhm... well, it's not like I wasn't in conflict with the will of the heavens from the beginning, and judging from everything that's happening and how it will develop in the future, it's clear that if I really want to become stronger unlike what I've achieved in this life and the previous one, the path can't be any easier or weaker, especially if I have to go to the territory of the gods..."

Ling Tian sneered and snorted, getting rid of the bad thoughts and worries for no reason and further reaffirming his mentality.

From his beginning to the supremacy realm, Ling Tian did not have an easy path, especially with his mediocre and common talent for cultivation, where he had to try dozens of times harder than others to simply manage to make a small step in his cultivation.

Heaven's will didn't help either, as his heavenly tribulations were always stronger and more horrible compared to others in the same realm, often with one foot at death's door.

If his heart intuition expressed to him to cultivate taboo techniques, especially if they came from his past life, then for some mysterious reason it will be.

The deep and mysterious intuition of his heart has always saved him despite all things, guiding him even through the difficult and painful but necessary path, and after the last event in the Immortal World where he inflated himself with a bit of arrogance and ignored it, resulting in his current situation by losing his cultivation, Ling Tian was no longer going to doubt his intuition and would always keep it in mind.

If it wasn't for his intuition, Ling Tian would have died more than thousands of times even before ascending to the immortal world...

"My intuition could come from my past life?" Ling Tian suddenly wondered for the first time.

With the vague and few memories he has obtained, Ling Tian recalled that in one of his memories it seemed that he also had that intuition that something might go wrong back then.

The intuition that warned him of future danger seemed to be almost the same as the one he currently has.

However, with the experiences one gains over time, and the cultivation also reaching a high level, one could develop a kind of temporary danger intuition, although it would not be like his, as it would only warn him of danger at the moment and not from long before.

"Or perhaps it could be an inherited innate ability?"

Ling Tian recalled memories of his seemingly lost childhood, wondering if perhaps this intuition was inherited from one of his biological parents, or someone in his family. Memories of his biological family and his childhood were slowly coming back to him.

"I will most likely know when the time comes, but first I will have to recover my cultivation base or decide whether to redo my cultivation with a different method."

Ling Tian put aside unnecessary worries, knowing that they would only do him more harm than good, so he concentrated on carrying out his more important current goals.

Ling Tian's jet black eyes glowed coldly as he looked up, piercing through the white sea of clouds and noticing that the small dark cloud at the very top was slowly growing larger, even seeming to affect other small clouds nearby as they began to turn slightly gray.
