Chapter 20: Request

The next morning, Kate opened her eyes and looked at the somewhat close ceiling in front of her.

She blinked her eyes.

Memories of yesterday’s experience appeared inside her mind, telling her that whatever happened was not a dream. It was something that she truly experienced and will have to face in the future.

‘I’m still a cat.’

Kate looked at her paw and sighed deeply.

If only it was possible, she wanted to turn back into a human, especially her human body. She’s already 21 years old and had her own life...

‘Right, mom and dad.’

.....

Kate recalled her parents and jumped out of her small house. She looked around and realized that Kyle had already gone out even earlier than her.

Without waiting for anything else, Kate rushed out of the room.

She was glad that Kyle didn’t close the door or she would have to figure out how to open the door first. It was not easy for a small cat at this height to open the door that had such a high handle.

“Meow.”

Kate looked around and smelled pleasant smell from the dining room.
She didn’t hesitate and walked to the dining room and saw Kyle was already there, holding a cup of coffee in his hand. His other hand was holding a remote TV and there was a TV at the other end of the dining room, broadcasting the recent news.

“The disasters that occurred all over the world had caused devastating result. Many small animals, which believed to be small mammals and also some other type of animals, mutated overnight.

The lightning strike happened at 12, causing everyone to fall asleep. When we all woke up, the world had changed. These mutated animals didn’t seem to listen to our words and caused a lot of catastrophe as they....”

Kate looked at the report of the mutated animals on the TV before walking towards Kyle. She didn’t really care that much about what happened in the outside world.

“Meow.”

“You’re awake, Little Kitty.” Kyle glanced down and picked Kate effortlessly. The small cat was really easy to pick up. “Eat first.”

Kate looked at the bottle of milk that Kyle had prepared and obediently drank them. She really hoped that she could grow up fast enough so that she could eat other things.

She didn’t want to drink milk all the time, alright?

“Meow.”

Kyle knew that the little cat couldn’t drink too much, so he put the bottle away and saw that the little cat was now moving around. It seemed as if the little cat was eager to leave, but she looked conflicted.

He was amused.

This little cat could really make him amused from time to time.

“Meow.”

“What is it?”

“Meow.”

Kate repeated again and realized that her methods of communication was so bad. She thought about her bag that Kyle brought along and quickly ran to the living room.

Best

“Little Kitty?” Kyle was speechless.

This little cat really couldn’t stay silent in one place. He began to doubt his decision for taking care of the cat, but thinking that she was still quite useful and trustworthy, he decided to leave it be.

Trusting an animal was easier than trusting humans.

He walked to the living room and saw that Kate had dragged a student card taken from the bag that he tossed there. If he was not wrong, that was the bag of that missing female students.

“Meow.”

Kate put the card in front of Kyle.

Kyle took the card. “You want to see her?”

“Meow.”

Kate shook her head.

Kyle frowned and lifted up Kate. He saw her pointing to the address column and there was a bizarre guess inside his mind. “You want to go to her home?”

“Meow!”

As if to stress that Kyle guessed correctly, Kate didn’t hesitate to tap him once with her tail just like how they communicate yesterday.

Kyle was silent.

He looked at the little cat on his hand, feeling that the world was somewhat strange. He took a deep breath.

“Just how much do you like that girl that you want to see her at her home?”
