27 – Departure Mark (1)

The rain pours. Not drops from the sky, but rain made of earth. Bi Yan was already running forward.

He must have used up all his strength, because his body was tilting sideways. Fortunately, thanks to her speed, she barely caught it.

His eyes were closed, and his arms were blackened as if they had been burned. For a moment, she feared he would never open his eyes again.

Despair filled her eyes, and hostility soon began to creep into them. The eerie red glow was directed at none other than the Heavenly Horse in front of her.

His condition was far from normal. His body was already covered in wounds, and judging from the blood coming out of his mouth, he had suffered internal injuries.

I can kill him now.

I will kill it.

I will kill it for real.

The uncontrollable killing intent reared its ugly head again. She wanted to run at him right now, to tear him limb from limb, to shove her hands down his throat and rip him apart, but she couldn’t do that. For in her arms right now was her Master, who meant more to her than anything else, and she knew it.

Bi Yan gritted her teeth. She forced out the killing intent that had spread like wildfire. She didn’t want to lose her Master because of a momentary emotion.

Watching the scene, Tianma laughed. How could he not laugh, the Heavenly Demon suppressing his life for the sake of a mere man.

“I originally intended to make him pay for his betrayal…… but I changed my mind.”

“What are you trying to do?”

“I’m saying that I will spare your life. “

I wasn’t exactly in the mood for it, but more than that, it felt good. It had been a long time since I’d fought someone who didn’t back down.

But he didn’t want to spoil the afterglow with petty murder. The titan laughed and turned his head away, but behind his back, Bi Yan shouted.

Truth be told, she hadn’t been able to understand Tianma’s behavior for a long time. Sometimes it acted like a mimic, and other times it charged like an angry bison.

“What the hell do you want?!”

It was the same now. You say you’re here to kill a traitor, and yet here you are, with such a perfect opportunity in front of you, and you’re just going to walk away.

Why? Why? She couldn’t understand it. So, she turned to Tianma and asked the question. Tianma didn’t even look back.

“How can a sparrow know the will of a phoenix?”

“…….”

“Still, for old times’ sake, I’ll give you some advice.” Still, he didn’t look back, but the energy radiating from his entire body seemed to speak for him.

You didn’t have to look at his face to tell: he was smiling. As if he was enjoying all of this. Next, Tianma advised Bi Yan.

“Never leave behind regrets.”

“What do you mean…….”

“Do what you want to do.”

Don’t care about trivial things like what the world thinks of you. Just do what you want to do. That’s what Chen Ma has been doing all this time.

And it’s the same now. No one can dictate the course of his life.

Tianma smiled and walked away. For a moment, Bi Yan glared at him, but then he stopped. He rolled onto his master’s back.

Time was running out.

Meanwhile, Jegalsega was in a flurry of activity. Suddenly, the mountain in front of him was ripped away. It flew toward the island, right in front of him.

No one reacted immediately to this unimaginable turn of events, but then something else happened. A huge mountain filled the sky.

It had suddenly split in half.

If that mountain had fallen directly in front of them, it would have wiped out all of Jegalsega and the people of the islands that day. That’s better than nothing.

Of course, the people were thrown into chaos, but that could be managed.

Just then, someone knocked urgently on the gate.

Zhuge Liang, who was leading the Jie Galsega from the front, sighed in exhaustion and opened the gate. He was stunned by the devastation before him.

“A thousand small clans?! Moreover, behind his back, he has…….” “There’s no time! Hurry, hurry, hurry, get the senator to……!!”

“Ah, I see. Just wait a bit!”

Pushed by the tremendous momentum of Bie Yan, Jie Galhyuk moved involuntarily, because he felt like he would be eaten if he stayed still.

After a few moments passed, Councilor Yang Doojin, who had been summoned by Jegal Hyuk, quickly examined the condition of the biryu on Bi Yan’s back, and clicked his tongue,

for it was not as bad as he had imagined. However, he couldn’t bring himself to say it out loud. It was crushed by a force like steel.

Yang Doojin barely managed to raise his head. Clearly, it was right in front of him. His face was darkly shaded, and he couldn’t see.

“Leave it to me! I’ll do anything to keep him alive!”

“…… Please, Senator.”

“Well, then, we’ll have to move him for treatment, Sogazhu!”

“What? What?”

“Help me!”

Jegal-hyuk, who had been watching from the sidelines, stood up like a bolt of lightning when he heard the words, and together with Dr. Yang, they moved the patient.

Seeing that, Bi Yan unconsciously stretched out her hand towards her master, but she quickly bit her lip and put her hand away.

What are you going to do?

You’re going to stand by him? The voice she hadn’t heard in a while, a voice that sounded exactly like her own, haunted her again. With staggering steps, Biyun barely made it out of Jegalsega’s doorway before she faltered. She couldn’t stand.

“It’s all because of me.”

She felt like a rock was crushing her chest. She swallowed hard, unable to hold back the nausea that rose in her stomach.

Tears streamed from her eyes. How could she hold back the tears, when all of this had happened because of me, and nothing had changed.

And now, once again, because of me, the Master was about to die. I couldn’t bear it anymore. I began to fear everything.

It was as if I were back then.

Back to those days when being alive was hell…… then.

* * *

“What are you crying about?”

The tears had dried up, having already been poured out. In their place was blood. Day after day, tears of blood poured from her eyes, but she couldn’t stop.

Regret. Why did I do it, why didn’t I look back sooner? I hate it, I hate it, I hate it, I would rather, I would rather have died first…….

Then I wouldn’t be in so much pain. I cried myself to sleep every day, shedding unbearable tears. I couldn’t stop crying.

Away from the eyes of the people, I went to the foot of the mountain, where there was no one. She kept crying to herself. And now, decades later, here we are.

Someone spoke to her.

He was an old man with bushy gray hair. His long, white hair and beard reached down to his waist, and his face was full of wrinkles.

The old man exuded a mysterious aura, but Bi Yan couldn’t afford to care about that. She replied through her tears.

“I killed my benefactor with my own hands.”

“That’s unfortunate, but is that all there is to it?”

“What do you mean by that?”

“It seemed to me that there were other reasons.”

“…….”

“I don’t know how many years I cried. I don’t know how many years I’ve suffered. It will get better with time. At one point, I even thought that in a moment of complacency.

But as time passed, the pain only got worse. The pain only got worse. Why am I so sad, why am I so sick, I don’t know.

Please, if anyone knows, please tell me the answer. Looking at her, the old man clicked his tongue in disbelief.

“What is this, what is that?”

“…….”

“The power to rule the heavens and earth, the love that burns thatch, they are but a moment in time.”

“……You mean, just forget about it?”

“No matter how dark the night, there is always a lamp.”

Despite the ferocity of the flames, which seemed to vomit blood, the old man nodded nonchalantly. In the end, it was all for naught.

No power, no burning love, must one day come to an end, for nothing lasts forever. That was reincarnation.

It was also the way of the world. Bi Yan realized what the old man was trying to say. She had thought of it once. Like a lantern burning in the deep night.

I wonder if it can be replaced, if it will go away with time. It was so painful, she had thought that.

“No matter how bright those lights were! No matter how many of them there were!”

“The first festival we went to, hand in hand, the first delicious food we tried, the lanterns lighting up the night sky, the warmth of our backs.

“How dare you compare to the sun in the sky.”

The memories of being with you keep coming back, sharper and sharper with each passing day, and how can I forget them.

“My sun has completely set, never to rise again.”

Now there is nothing but a pitch-black night ahead of me.
