32 – Episode 32 Tactical expression of affection

“Haganess. From now on, you won’t have to see my face again. Don’t even bother looking for me.”

Haganess was deeply shocked by Wolfgang’s harsh words.

Wondering how he could be so oblivious to her feelings, she was willing to take out her heart and show it to him. Even if it meant opening her chest with a knife right now, she was prepared if Wolfgang would acknowledge her true feelings, even if it meant exposing her vulnerability.

After the demons disappeared, Wolfgang became the most dangerous figure in the world. When everyone sought to eliminate him, Haganess made a deal to spare his life.

Although the promise was not kept, Haganess believed that the intention behind it was crucial.

Seeing Wolfgang again brought her joy, but his refusal to engage in a conversation to resolve misunderstandings made her resentful.

From the pocket that Raelle had stolen from Wolfgang, Haganess took out the divine chain and tied it to a knife. It was a precaution in case Wolfgang tried to push her away.

She hoped she wouldn’t have to use it, but the cruel reality unfolded as Wolfgang struggled with the divine chain around his neck.

“The chain…”

Wolfgang, choked and in pain from the divine chain around his neck, tried to reach for it with his hand, but Haganess pulled it tight once again.

As Wolfgang’s body followed the pull, he fell forward.

“Kek!”

Haganess stepped firmly on Wolfgang’s fallen head.

She took out a lock from her embrace and filled the divine chain, preventing him from undoing it.

“It’s okay, Wolfgang. If you listen to me, you’ll understand.”

While restraining Wolfgang, Haganess laid bare her inner thoughts and everything she had experienced, from the day she learned of Adeus’s plan to eliminate Wolfgang to her return to the cult and becoming a saint.

With fading consciousness, Wolfgang tried to focus on her words.

‘Crazy woman…’

It was all nonsense.

“That’s how it happened, Wolfgang. Do you understand?”

“Kek… ugh.”

Wolfgang nodded his head with great effort.

The face that touched the ground creaked as it moved.

“Thank you for listening… I should have done it this way from the beginning.”

Wolfgang thought he needed to adapt to Haganess’s mood, so he nodded even more vigorously than before.

“Finally, we can communicate.”

Haganes lifted the foot that had been on his head, pulled the iron chain wrapped around his neck, and raised Wolfgang’s upper body.

“Did it hurt? Just sit on the floor for now.”

Wolfgang lowered himself to the ground, shaking his head.

‘Because of the divine iron chain, my regenerative ability is disabled. If I recklessly provoke the wound in this state, losing an arm or a leg could be the end. Be cautious and use ki techniques when off guard…’

“This iron chain here.”

“Hmm?”

Haganes spoke while stroking the iron chain he held in his hand.

“This brought us back together.”

“Ah… I see.”

‘What does he want?’

“I used the relic detector I left in the sect to find you. That’s how I found out you were in this mansion. I was so excited at the thought of meeting you. So, I dropped everything and came here. But you weren’t here, only this pocket with the iron chain. I was curious.”

Haganes pointed with his finger at Raelle.

Raelle, lying on the floor with a knife stuck in her hand, was trembling, holding her injured hand.

“At first, I thought it was a trap you set. But when I searched the mansion, I found a girl I’d never seen before hiding. She seems to have quite a bad habit. Then I thought about it. Wolfgang, the renowned Wolf, falls victim to pickpocketing. It was so cute that I burst into laughter.”

‘Now is the time.’

Wolfgang, thinking that Haganes was currently distracted and noisy, began gathering his ki from the acupoints.

It was a situation where he could use the technique he had used on Adeus again.

“And this iron chain is the only thing that can’t block ki techniques.”

‘Did you know?’

“It was the relic you wanted so desperately. You complained at the palace about why they wouldn’t lend it to you. Whenever I had the chance, I told you about this iron chain. How to use it, what functions it had, and its weaknesses. Remember?”

“…Yeah, I remember.”

“So, I attached a blade made of lead, which interferes with the flow of ki itself, to the end. It seems Adeus was affected by ki techniques… right?”

Wolfgang, blaming his past self and testing the gathered ki, slightly released it at the tip of his finger.

Originally, a blue flame should have burst out, but nothing happened.

Haganes’s statement about the blade on the end of the iron chain around his neck being made of lead was not a lie.

“Yeah… that’s right. Sharp as always, Haganes.”

“Hehe, it’s basic.”

Even though ki techniques were no longer usable, there was one more method left.

‘Call forth the ghost.’

Outside the walls of Lom, even though she was bound, she was not just a ghost horse for no reason.

She had the ability to solidify her own body and pass through most walls.

And because she could respond to the commands of her resurrected owner regardless of distance, if she could buy enough time for the ghost to arrive, she could escape from this situation.

It was possible because Dominic’s legacy, used to resurrect the ghost, had powerful necromancy.

“Thank you, Dominic.”

Haganess gently held Wolfgang’s chin, who had been bowing his head, as she contemplated how to escape.

“Show me your face… Wolfgang.”

“I might die… but I’ll try to act as natural as possible with my expression…”

In that brief moment, Wolfgang moved his facial muscles with all his strength.

Haganess, who raised Wolfgang’s head, was startled by his expression.

It was because he was smiling bright, just like he used to, towards her.

Haganess’s face blushed for a moment when she saw Wolfgang’s face, which made her feel emotional.

To further relax Haganess, Wolfgang attempted to tell a lie.

“Haganess… I’ve heard everything you said. I understand. You’ve been through a lot, haven’t you? I’ll be by your side now…”

“Sniff… Sniff…”

Touched by Wolfgang’s warm words, Haganess, whose emotions surged, began to cry.

“It’s okay… Haganess.”

Wolfgang slowly stood up and embraced Haganess, who was crying.

Then, he gently wrapped his arm around her neck and looked into her eyes.

Eventually, he began to kiss her.

Startled by Wolfgang’s sudden action, Haganess was taken aback, but soon surrendered to the overwhelming pleasure.

Laurelli watched them with a gaze, wondering what they were doing.

‘What are they doing?’

As she watched them embracing each other and exchanging passionate kisses, Laurelli noticed something peculiar.

The iron chains that Haganess was holding in her hand were suddenly entangled around her waist.

‘Wow… Could it be intentional, to wrap that around the Saint’s body?’

After the kiss, a transparent thread connected Haganess and Wolfgang’s mouths and then quickly broke.

They silently stared into each other’s eyes in the eerie atmosphere.

With her face turning red, Haganess softly called out Wolfgang’s name.

“Wolfgang…”

“Haganess…”

“Are we truly doing this together now?”

“Ghost.”

“Huh?”

“Ghost!”

Wolfgang called out to Ghost and headbutted Haganess with determination.

“Got him good. Just need to hold on for one more minute.”

Haganess clutched her broken nose, letting out a scream.

“What the hell, Wolfgang!”

The Holy Knights attempted to use their basic healing blessing on Haganess’s nose, but nothing happened.

It was only then that Haganess noticed the iron chain wrapped around her waist.

“At what moment…”

This time, Wolfgang swung a punch towards Haganess’s jaw.

*Thud.* Haganess collapsed to the ground.

Simultaneously, the iron chain wrapped around her waist pulled, causing Wolfgang’s body to sway.

Regaining her senses quickly, Haganess seized the opportunity, grabbing the iron chain and pulling Wolfgang towards her.

Losing his balance, Wolfgang lurched forward.

Close enough, Haganess drove a fist into Wolfgang’s face.

Then, from within her embrace, she drew a dagger and cut the iron chain.

With no restraining chain, Wolfgang fell to the ground.

Haganess freed the iron chain wrapped around her waist and approached the fallen Wolfgang.

Wolfgang tried tearing the chain around his neck, but the lock held firm.

“Hurry, Ghost…”

Light emitted from Haganess’s hand, transforming into the shape of a longsword.

“As expected, should have cut off your limbs to make you behave.”

Muttering a chilling remark, Haganess raised the sword towards the grounded Wolfgang.

“Now!”

With the sound of flames erupting, a ghostly figure engulfed in azure flames shattered the balcony and charged at them.

“What’s that…?”
