There was no news at all. It was as if she had vanished into thin air.

Ji Hanjiang had caused such a big commotion when searching for Yan Yiren that news of what had happened had reached Yan Shudan.

The mother-daughter duo was still thinking about how to get rid of the bane of their existence, Yan Yiren. Who would’ve thought that even the heavens would have given them a helping hand!

“Mother, I heard that Yan Yiren was last seen in the cemetery. Do you think she was summoned by that mother of hers who died so prematurely?” Yan Shudan sipped on her red wine, chuckling with glee.

“That better be what happened.” Ruan Yufeng glanced at her gleeful daughter, lowering her voice. “You’d better treat Grandma well. There’s a significant sum of money in her hands. Don’t let Yan Yiren take it.”

Confidently, Yan Shudan replied, “Don’t worry Mother. Yan Yiren would never be able to take anything that belongs to Yan Family! Even if she ate it, I would make her vomit it back up.”

Yan Yiren followed Weiwei to another mansion. The more places they visited, the dizzier she felt.

Just how big was this place?

As they stepped into the mansion, Yan Yiren couldn’t help but gasp in awe. This mansion was far more luxurious than the one the crazed woman lived in. It was vastly superior to the mansion she had visited earlier.

The servants stood in two rows, bowing as they welcomed the guests. Weiwei remained expressionless as a servant approached her and began to clean up the weeds stuck to her skirt before using a towel to wipe her face and clean her hands.

They were then led to the dining area.

The long Victorian-style dining table could seat twenty people. Weiwei sat at the head of the table, her chin resting on her hands.

The servants trailed in one after another, setting down perfectly plated dishes that looked and smelled amazing.

Yan Yiren had thought she had seen how the rich lived but got the shock of her life when she saw the luxury of the meal being served to them.

There were more than twenty plus dishes, not including desserts and fruits, and it was all for Weiwei, a sixteen-year-old girl…

The rest of the wealthy inhabitants of Ning City weren’t this wasteful too, were they?

Wait a minute!

Yan Yiren paused. Was she still in Ning City?

If so, then why had a night and day passed without Ji Hanjiang managing to find her?

“Miss, you can begin your lunch now,” the servant softly reminded her.

Weiwei picked up her chopsticks, ready to begin her meal. However, she withdrew her hand, turning her head to look at Yan Yiren, who was behind her. “Friend?”

Yan Yiren paused. “Mn?”

Using her chopsticks, Weiwei pointed to the seat beside her. Yan Yiren pointed to herself. “Are you asking me to sit with you to have lunch?”

She hadn’t even considered the possibility because she was so hungry!

After not eating anything for a day and a night, then seeing ghosts and being beaten up by a crazed woman, her body was on the verge of collapsing.

Weiwei remained expressionless and did not say another word as she turned around and began eating.

Taking her silence as consent, Yan Yiren began to sit down. Just then, her collar was tugged by a bodyguard. “Servants don’t share a meal with the masters!”

Yan Yiren pulled her collar roughly out of the bodyguard’s hand and fiercely said, “Who’s a servant? I’m not! If there’s anyone who wants to be the servant, be my guest! I’m not interested. Besides, I’m Weiwei’s friend. Do you guys even understand what friends are?”

After finishing speaking, Yan Yiren plopped herself angrily down onto the chair and without another word asked the servant for another set of cutlery.

The food was even more delicious than she had imagined!

How she wished that she could eat her tongue up too!

Glancing at Weiwei, she realized that she was leaning onto her hand. Weiwei had put her chopsticks down and was looking at her without even blinking.

Yan Yiren slowed down the pace at which she was eating and reached out to touch the corners of her mouth and her face. “Weiwei, is there something on my face?”

Their eyes suddenly met. Yan Yiren gasped, jerking backward.
