The Secret Of Vanetta

Chapter 18:Ruby Part - An Accident

March 14.

The night wind blew slowly, but this coldness pierced every bone in her bones. Even though Ruby was wearing a jacket and long jeans, this cold feeling was unavoidable.

In the parking lot, Ruby started the engine, slowly she started to ride her motorbike towards the busy highway.

Even though it was very late, the streets were still busy and crowded. Maybe because it's a weekend night so many rider are still roaming the road.

For more than thirty minutes Ruby kept driving until she didn't realize she had entered a deserted street and almost reached her house.

On the quiet road, her motorcycle seemed to have hit something. But she saw nothing there.

BAM! It sounded quite loud.

"Aaahhhh...." Ruby screamed and was very surprised by what was happening now.

She and her motorcycle fell, landing miserably on the paved road.

"Awh .... !" Ruby winced, she endured the pain in the right side of her body.

Ruby just realized, now she was lying on the road with her motorbike. She immediately got up, lifted her motorbike, and sat back on the motorbike seat with her hands still hurting.

The atmosphere was very quiet because it was almost 00.00. Right now no one had seen her, there's nobody helped her. Ruby had to work on her own to wake up.

Ruby looked at herself, she patted the left side of her body because it was dirty. Luckily no one was hurt, only pain in her hands and feet. But it doesn't matter.

Ruby was driving slowly. If not? Maybe this time she will suffer more severe injuries than this.

Feeling fine, Ruby decided to go back to riding her motorbike back home.

When Ruby was about to walk forward, suddenly there was a voice that sounded low and slightly hoarse.

"Help! help!"

Ruby glanced around the dark. Relying solely on the light from her motorcycle headlights, she saw absolutely nothing around here.

"Help!" The voice came again.

Ruby strained her ears, now her eyes were fixed on the tall grass beside her. It looks like something is moving there.

How surprised she was when she saw someone huddled on the side of the grassy road, wearing slightly shabby clothes. It doesn't look like it's a person.

Since then, she had not seen anyone else here, only herself. But now? Why can there be anyone else?

Even though this felt odd, Ruby still got off the motorbike and immediately approached the person.

Ruby immediately squatted down and asked quietly, "Are you okay?" She helped her to get up.

"Girl .... Did you hit me!" Her voice now sounded very clear.

"What? I bumped into you?" Ruby was surprised when she saw the person who was now facing her.

Turns out she was a grandma.

Does that mean that Ruby bumped into a grandmother who was standing on the side of the road?

Don't know what made Ruby bump into the grandmother, she didn't even realize it herself. Because from earlier, there was no one around here.

But clearly, now she had hit her.

It turned out that Emmy's words had come true. She bumped into someone.

"Aisshhhh .... Damn it!" Ruby cursed softly. She finds this ridiculous.

Just because of what Emmy said this morning, now she is having that bad luck. Hit people!

However, she was wrong to have bumped into someone. Maybe she was a little sleepy and not being careful in driving until she hit this grandmother.

"Grandma, is anyone hurt?"

Ruby saw the state of the grandmother from head to toe. She seems fine.

Yes, although this grandmother is fine because Ruby has hit her, so she must be responsible to her.

"You ruined the things I had to deliver!" shouted the grandmother angrily.

"What thing?" Ruby asked, wondering what it meant. The grandmother then pointed to a box that had been damaged and broken.

"It was someone's order that I had to deliver tomorrow. And now it's broken. How's it going?"

Ruby looked stunned to see the item was destroyed. Don't know what the thing that was destroyed Ruby did not know.

"To make it, it took three days. How can I make another? Even though I have to deliver this tomorrow?"

"What is it, Grandma?"

"A special set of saucers someone ordered."

"Special cup?"

"Because it was your fault that you ran into me and caused this. You have to tell that person and tell them you were the cause!"

"What do you mean Grandma?" Ruby didn't understand.

"Tell the customer of this item that you caused the order to break. And tell me that I will make it again and finish in three days!"

Ruby feel confused. Trying to understand something she was dealing with right now.

"Tomorrow night, come to the club 'Luz Del Alba' on De Falces Street. Meet someone named Vanetta there if you want to take responsibility for your carelessness tonight!" The grandmother said quietly.

Although her voice was low, her gaze was sharp and sinister. Especially in the middle of the night like this. Ruby was a little scared.

"Huh? What? Go to De Falces Street?" Ruby was a little surprised to hear the location that the oldwoman mentioned.

As far as what Ruby know, it was quite haunted and quiet. Not many people come to the area. Several empty buildings are very old. How could she go to that nightclub there?

Uh, wait! Is there a nightclub there?

Seeing that Ruby was silent, the grandmother said again, "If you don't want to, that's okay!"

The grandmother immediately turned around. She nonchalantly walked away from Ruby.

Ruby was very afraid of her grandmother's words. Moreover, earlier she said 'Responsible for your carelessness'.

Ruby was afraid that if she did not come tomorrow night to the place mentioned earlier, the grandmother would report this incident to the authorities. She didn't want to go to jail.

"Okay, tomorrow I'll come!" Ruby shouted.

But now the grandmother is no longer there.

"Huh... Where did she go?" Ruby looked left and right, hoping to see the granny.

It had not been a minute, but the grandmother was gone. She had disappeared somewhere.

"Was it a ghost? It just came and went."

"Ihhhhhhh... How scary!" Ruby shuddered. Feeling that the fine hairs on her body are now starting to stand up.

Ruby immediately got on the motorbike, started the engine, and immediately left the place.

***

Arriving at the yard, Ruby immediately opened the gate. She kept her motorbike in the garage quietly, afraid that the noise would wake Emmy.

When Ruby entered the house, she unlocked it using the spare key she had. So Ruby no longer had to wake Emmy when she came home at night.

Ruby saw a darkroom in her house. Not a single light was on. There was little light coming in through the window blinds from the light outside, illuminating the room.

Ruby hesitated a little, she immediately entered the house.

"Where's Mommy?"

Ruby knows that Emmy prefers to sleep in complete darkness. Emmy doesn't like the light when she sleeps. But this was the first time Ruby saw that there was no light in this house. Even the bathroom lights look dark.

"Did Mommy go outside?"

When Ruby walked into the bedroom, she faintly heard sobs coming from the kitchen.

Ruby was a little scared. Her fear has not subsided because a grandmother who suddenly disappeared on the street, now heard the sound of crying in the house.

Are ghosts today tired of appearing on Friday nights? Why did it have to show up on another night?

Although very scared, but Ruby immediately went to the kitchen. Don't forget to turn on the lights in several rooms.

When Ruby turned on the kitchen light, she was surprised to see what was inside.

At this moment, she was not only shocked but also fear and anger were now mixed into one.

"Mommy!" Ruby shouted. She immediately ran to Emmy.

Ruby didn't expect to see such a horrible sight in the kitchen.

It wasn't because she saw ghosts or anything mystical here, but it was because Ruby saw Emmy lying on the floor with blood dripping from her wrists.

There was even a knife in Emmy's hand. For a moment Ruby felt helpless. A big hole was getting real in her heart seeing her mother's condition.
