The Porter is Secretly an SS-Level Hunter

Chapter 88: Siren (V) & Changing (III)

Siren's hair moved with the wind as it was finally free from its confines. Under them laid thousands of dead bodies as boredom and tiredness reached Siren's face.

Leaning back, Siren used the dead bodies as cushions to sit on while watching the sky turn an orange-red mixed with black. Even the rivers followed the same pattern.

But the torn limbs floated in the rivers, having no destination to go.

Siren sighed; they have destroyed their ninth world, living up to their name:

Perditor.

They planned to destroy all nineteen worlds. They added the human realm into their plans, but they still had not figured out how to enter the place.

But now, Siren has grown bored with the killing and destruction. 'Where is the fun? Where is the challenge?' Siren thought to the ugly, suffocating sky.

They sighed and only continued to let out a loud exhalation as they could not find the fire within them anymore. Once upon a time, Siren craved death and torture, but as years went on, they turned cold towards it all.

"Maybe I should play as a wild wolf in the next world." Siren thought out loud.

They started to imagine running through the forest, living free from everything while catching and eating different animals.

After many years, a smile finally graced Siren's face as they lost themselves in the imagery of being a wild wolf.

Due to being in their head, they did not hear someone coming their way until they spoke. "Ah, the famous Perditor. I have been wanting to meet the shape-shifter that has been destroying worlds left and right."

Siren quickly turned around, a weapon appearing in their hand as they stared at the woman who appeared behind him.

The woman had on a sheer blue tight dress. There was nothing underneath, as she did not care about showing off her body. Her black hair reached her shoulders as she wore a cover over her eyes.

The smug smile on her lips made Siren remember who this person was:

Mother.

He had heard her name from people's fearful lips. Her reputation was just like Siren. But, she seemed worse than him as Siren still had morals when that woman was like the devil herself.

Her appearance was constantly changing, but even then, her beauty never stopped attracting others. Until this day, no one knew how the woman initially looked.

"Mother, why have you grace me with your presence?" Siren asked as sarcasm laced their words.

Mother laughed, walking closer as her heels stabbed into the dead bodies under her. The train of her dress started to get soaked in blood.

Siren moved back. They were cautious of the woman who even the strong feared.

She stopped, raising her eyebrow even though her creepy smile hadn't dropped. "Why move away? I only want to speak with you."

"I do not wish to speak with you. I am quite busy and will be on my way." Siren responded, getting ready to make a portal to another world.

But Mother made her move as she rushed towards him with a weapon in her hand. Siren swiftly moved, blocking the spear with their sword.

Looking back, Siren should have left the moment the woman appeared because the move was only a distraction that they stupidly fell for.

Siren felt something connect around their throat. Once they heard a clear snapping sound, Siren felt like something drained their powers. They dropped to their knees as their weapon disappeared.

Siren tried to change into something small to escape, but it was like millions of needles stabbed into them. They gritted their teeth, holding back any cries of pain.

Mother laughed as she bent down, grabbing Siren's chin. She leaned over, licking along their lips before moving her tongue to their cheek and ear.

"You will make an exquisite pet." She whispered.

Siren cringe in disgust, wanting to escape, but an arm shot through their stomach, causing everything to turn black.

Before they passed out, Siren vowed to kill this woman for tricking and capturing them.

When Neban went out for his first hunt in a dungeon, it was exciting. He never used his abilities for killing. So, when he did, taking down the monsters with ease, Neban enjoyed it.

But, after a while, Neban began to grow bored.

The monsters were not a challenge as he could kill them like nothing. And the thrill he felt, in the beginning, became empty to him.

People spoke about how the hunters would silently turn into a beast from fighting the monsters.

The adrenaline of life and death was almost an addiction the hunters could not step away from. And because of this, some A-levels and higher levels turn conceited and think they can do anything.

With the government giving them what they want, it is hard to refute them. If a hunter wanted to, they could secretly go on a killing spree. And if the hunter could cover the kills with zero evidence, the government will do nothing.

But Neban was different from it all.

There was no thrill, no adrenaline pumping, and no addiction. After each kill, Neban would yawn and be ready to go home to Theo.

He even started going to high-level dungeons to feel something rather than for the money.

It still was about the money so that he could raise Theo without any problems. But he wanted to feel what he felt when he first started hunting.

That is why, when he decided to become a porter, he did not mostly regret it. Because there, he met monsters that put a silent thrill through his body.

And when Siren was added to the mix, Neban began to understand what other hunters felt. He silently became addicted to the fighting.

Also, Siren did not help the feeling but added to it. They always wanted to fight to build back their powers, but Neban felt like Siren turned him more bloodthirsty.

Neban tried to push it back for his son and even the others, but it was hard for him to do. The monsters were growing more robust, more and more things were changing, and Neban wanted more.

And once Mother entered the picture, Neban wanted to kill her. No, he craved it.

The woman was strong, and more than anything, she is the creator of the hunters abilities and dungeons.

Neban lost the first fight against her, and that made the craving worse. Being an SS-level hunter, he was used to winning, but Mother showed how she was the strongest ever to cross his path.

And like Siren, he wanted nothing more than to take her life.

Because this time, she unlocked the beast that has been resting in Neban. He will get rid of her, no matter what.

The darkness cleared in Neban's area as the man reappeared.

Neban stood there as the world seemed to move a bit slow to him. The darkness wrapped around his body as there was no shadow under him.

His brown hair bleeds to black, even his eyes, as color seemed to drain from him. There were markings on his cheeks, making their way to his chin.

Neban flexed his hands, feeling the strength within his body. He took one step, noticing how his feet felt light, like he was floating.

He had to look down to see if his feet were on the ground.

Looking back up, confirming that his feet were on the ground, Neban looked at Mother and Siren fighting.

They seemed to be moving at a slower speed as Siren pushed the woman into a more shaded area. Neban looked at the spot before he disappeared and reappeared behind Mother.

No one did not know how to react as Siren pulled back, moving away. Neban touched Mother's back, giving a soft push that caused her to fly towards the wall.

Seeing her fly, Neban looked at his hand while Siren stared at him. "Are you feeling better?" Siren asked, not even questioning where the powers came from.

Neban nodded.

"Then, let's kill this bitch."
