The Mysterious Black Magician

In the Empire of Encantasia, inside the adventurers guild bar. Some adventurers could be seen loafing around while chatting with buddies.

Most of the adventurers after their missions came here to drink, to have a rest, eat, and mostly chatted with their friends.

Suddenly, a bell rang when the door was pushed open. Out of reflex, some of the customers and clerks inside glanced at the door to see who it was. But some people just did not care about it and continued what they initially did as usual.

A second later, a middle-aged man together with two handsome young men and two exquisite young ladies came in. Each of them was wearing a grand looking-dress.

With them were 5 people with burly figures that were wearing full-plated silver armor from head to feet. Each of them held a 2.5 meters long spear in their hand.

And a well-known logo of a green fairy in a side view with 6 protruding transparent wings was apparent on the banner held by one of the 5 people in armor. It was the logo of the royal family of the Empire. These five people were from the Wolfmen Tribe. The tribe of half-human and half-wolf people.

One adventurer asked in irritation, "Who are —?" But when he saw the logo, he quickly swallowed back his words.

"The royal family?" Everyone exclaimed in silence at the visitors. 

"Wait, isn't that person the Royal Knight-Captain?"

"Do you mean... Captain Borge Bergal?! the person who defeated the rampaging Winged-Lion at the south border of the empire?!"

"Yeah!"

"Then those handsome young men and beautiful young women must be the sons and daughters of the nobles."

"Looking at their dresses, there's no doubt about it."

"The heck, you don't know? That is Miss Ella!"

"Miss Ella? The popular artist? Who sometimes uploaded her work in YT and Facepalm.com?"

"Yeah! And I'm one of her followers! I even subscribe to her YT channel. Then I clicked the bell beside it for notifications!"

"Eh?! What are they doing in a place like this? And why is she with people from the palace?"

"Don't tell me those two handsome youths are her suitors?"

'Am I not beautiful in their eyes?' The other girl together with the girl named Ella thought to herself when she happened to hear what the people around was conversing. Actually, she was the Encantasia Academy's student council president. Having long blonde hair, green eyes, beautiful face, and perfect body the same as the girl named Ella. And she goes in the name of lonely Hannah. The beautiful lonely Council President of Encantasia Empire.

She also was a beauty, but Ella was very popular in the empire.

The atmosphere inside the guild bar immediately rose to see such an idol.

Even the empire was affected by the technologies coming from the humans in the Outerworld.

The whispers and murmurs gradually become louder.

An adventurer yelled in excitement, "Whoo never in my wild dreams to see her in person!"

The visitors stopped in front of the counter.

"G-Good day, e-esteemed ladies and gentlemen," greeted by the clerk in a shaky voice. Never did she imagine that some high profile individuals would come to visit such a place.

The clerk was an 18 years old young lady from the Rabbitmen Tribe. She has brown long wavy hair and a cute face. She was supposed to be energetic but seeing such kinds of people unprepared, she was at a loss of words.

"Miss clerk, sorry for the trouble," said a beautiful young lady about 17 years old. She has shoulder-length snow-like hair, pointed ears, sky-like eyes, and was wearing a cerulean gown.

Everyone was in awe seeing her beauty in close-up.

A fan could not help screaming, "What a godlike being!"

On the other hand, some people around were drooling at her.

A guy next to her twitched his brow after seeing the malicious looks in the face of the people around.

None of them knew who the young males were together with Miss Ella and the unfamous council president with her.

Because of the Knight Captain's presence, they can't openly show malicious intent towards their idol. Well, the other girl was beautiful too. But...

The young man beside Ella seemed to perceive what was in the minds of the people around.

The people around seemed to dislike what the young man named Gilion was saying.

"You guys are courting death? Do you want to anger the Royal Knight-Captain?" Said an innocent person who just came here several days ago.

"I see, you don't know about this empire. You are either a migrant from a far kingdom or a mountain person who just came here to the mainland of the empire. For your information, no one can order the Royal Knight-Captain except her majesty the queen."

Hearing the complaints coming from the people around, the guards immediately encircled the group of youths to protect them if ever the situation escalated more.

They really couldn't understand why the young master had to anger the people in this room. This place was the den of the adventurers. Most of them were used to fighting and not afraid to anger the noble families.

Well, not all. Some of them would probably chicken out. But some were brave enough to buy a fight even with a noble.

So it was really not a good idea to act arrogant in such a place.

Captain Borge Bergal forces a drily laugh. "Are you sure you want to anger the people here Young Master Gilion Gustav?" The Royal Captain Borge Bergal asked. He really doesn't care if a riot broke out here. Her majesty only told him to guard and secure the safety of the girls, though both of them were capable magicians. He only tags along for safety purposes if something unexpected were to happen. After all, Ella wasn't an ordinary person. She was the Queen's niece.

So Captain Borge Bergal just shrugged this kind of stuff. He also was curious about how strong the people in this place were. Or how strong the young master from the Gustav family.

After hearing the words of the Royal Knight-Captain Borge Bergal towards the arrogant youth, the people around gawked in disbelief.

"Eh? Do you hear what the royal captain said?"

"Did he mean Gus-tav?"

"That name sounds familiar though."

A moment later,

"Hehehe, so you are strong, huh. Gustav family? Like I care." A person with a large build, wearing a vest made of fur from the high-rank beast. His body and face have several scars. He has spiky black hair and has pointed ears.

The young man and the other people glanced at the guy who was just talking. They saw him slowly stand up from his seat. Together with him, where 3 people, both were wearing wicked smiles on their faces.

The royal captain squinted his eyes. He knew this person. This guy used to be a renowned soldier of the empire, but something happened that led him to quit being the soldier. The last thing he heard about this guy was that he joined the adventurer's guild. Seeing him here, it seemed to be true.

"Vince the Menace! The person who was feared by his enemies," Captain Borge called out.

The people around once again broke into random whispers.

"Vince? Isn't he the golden rank adventurer?"

"Do you mean the famous Vince who beheaded a phantom snake?"

"Right. It's him!"

Vince on the other hand raised a brow when he heard Borge's call. 

"Ohoho looks like someone still able to recognize me in that name, Bergal!" Vince menacingly said.

"You! I'm not talking to you!" Gilion yelled at Vince.

"Ohoho, so the renowned and feared Gustav family were a bunch of chickens, huh!" Vince said at Gilion with a toothy grin.

Borge Bergal felt this wasn't good. He shook his head towards Gilion so as not to be teased by Vince's words.

However,

"Miss Ella, it's better to come with us than that pussy over there! Hehehe!"

Hehehehe! The people with him laugh after him.

Suddenly, dense mana was circulating in the hand of Gilion, "Insolent!" 

Lightning Emerald Dragon!

Without a warning when he cast it.

A lightning emerald dragon was shot towards Vince!

Ella and Hannah also froze and stared with wide-eyes open.

Before the Lightning Emerald Dragon could hit him, he slapped it from right to left, using his left hand.

The Lightning Emerald Dragon seemed like a puppy who gets slapped. It immediately changed its trajectory and flew towards the door of the guild bar.

The clerk wore a grim face. It was her new job, but it looks like everything would be over for her. If that thing hit the entrance. It would probably destroy the whole building!

Right at this moment, the door was unexpectedly pushed open.

And a young male about 5 feet and 8 inches height came in. He has medium white hair and wears a white long coat. He has almond eyes with golden pupils. A very definition of the word handsome.

"Watch out!" A warning from a female voice reverberated inside the guild bar. Everyone knew who this voice was. It was from the popular Miss Ella.

But the warning came too late.

Woosh! The weird sound of explosions reached their ears; then the whole room was illuminated by emerald brilliance for a moment.

Next second,

They saw the young man with his hand extended in front. While his palm was smoking slightly, and the Lightning Emerald Dragon... was nowhere to be seen.
