(Reading warning for explorers: When this warning appears, it means that some of the plots in this chapter may have a mental impact on the reader. It is recommended that explorers read it when they are in a good state of mind.)

Sean and Professor Duke have already reached the original fourth floor. The darkness is getting deeper and deeper, and the light of the flashlight can only illuminate a small area. Duke was still speaking in his somewhat bizarre tone of voice about the old book cemetery.

"The second widely circulated rumor is called the 'crying student'.

"Someone has seen a wandering student in this old book cemetery, and his behavior is very strange.

"Some people suspect that he is the student who held the evil ritual. Because of his guilt, he exiled himself here forever. There are rumors that he wants to change his face to gain forgiveness from others..."

Shawn, who was walking in front of him, suddenly found a fire flickering in the distance. He frowned and asked, "Is there anyone else here?"

Duke shrugged: "The old site has a lot of books, and many explorers and scholars are looking for valuable documents here."

Knowing that there were other explorers, Sean relaxed a little from his nervousness.

"The third rumor is called the 'Wronged Autodidact'.

"According to the report, there was one person in the library who did not leave on the night when the evil **** descended.

"He is a homeless who often teaches himself in the library. Because of the hard life in the first half of his life, he suffered a lot of injustice, so there are some very extreme and extreme ideas in his heart, which lead him to read and study. Misunderstood the original meaning of the book, and is very obsessed with some evil and taboo knowledge.

"When the subsidence happened, the autodidact hid in the library because he was too scared. After being affected by the descending ceremony, he was affected and went further and further on the wrong path of seeking knowledge...

"The distorted knowledge and the truth that was distorted by himself are like toxins that infected his soul, turning him into a distorted existence."

"You can't see him by looking directly, but if you look out of the corner of your eye, you can see a distorted, excruciatingly painful... outline."

"Extreme thoughts are the seed of fire, distorted knowledge is the fuelwood, and self-learners who have gone astray have burned into a pillar of pain, suffering forever in this old book cemetery.

"His greatest pleasure is to subvert and distort knowledge, leading people astray, and some people go crazy after hearing his whispers..."

Sean stopped again.

Duke accidentally bumped into Sean's back, realized that he was talking too much, and said with a smile, "Maybe my description is too exaggerated...

"These are not sighting reports from official channels and cannot be trusted. Most of the explorers have not encountered strange events here. I am just too concerned about my own safety, so I would rather believe it. Don't be too much. nervous."

Sean weighed it briefly, and he had a strong feeling: the information about the Judas ring is at the bottom of this old book cemetery, and he couldn't give up this investigation because of these rumors.

"The three stories you mentioned..." Sean continued walking, "somewhat similar."

"Yeah." Duke nodded, "It's all because of over-seeking knowledge and being cursed by knowledge."

"I don't think it's the curse of knowledge."

"Oh?" Duke adjusted the frame of his glasses, "What's your opinion?"

"Knowledge is just a tool for us to understand the world. If we regard knowledge as the highest purpose and give up everything to satisfy our curiosity and desire for knowledge, then no matter how wise people are, they will go astray."

Behind Sean, Duke narrowed his eyes: "Continue."

"Like a weapon, knowledge is just a thing, a tool, it is neither good nor bad.

"Someone to understand the most evil knowledge may be for the most holy purpose..."

In front of Sean's eyes, Catherine's glamorous face flashed.

She opened the Book of Red Clothes, not to satisfy her own desires.

"The three people you mentioned are not cursed by knowledge, they are cursed by the desire and obsession to pursue knowledge.

"They are cursed by themselves, and knowledge should not be blamed."

Professor Duke stopped.

After taking a few steps, Sean realized that his companions were not keeping up, so he turned around in confusion.

He saw the astonishment on Professor Duke's face.

After a while, the diminutive scholar held up his crystal glasses and said slowly, "I... have been trying to understand the dangers of knowledge...

"What you said just now made me realize that knowledge is just a tool, and it is people's own obsessions that curse people.

"Mr. Mist..." Duke's eyes flickered, "You have the potential to become a great scholar."

Sean seemed indifferent: "Maybe."

Turning around and continuing to walk forward, Sean said, "Come on, it's really weird here. Let's find the information quickly and leave as soon as possible."

Approaching the stairway down the third floor, they saw the place where the fire just flickered.

A horse lantern is placed on a small stack of books. The light of the horse lantern illuminates a row of tall bookshelves. Under the bookshelves sits a explorer wearing the mask of "Tacheng's Apprentice" and seems to be resting.

Sean and Professor Duke walked to the explorer. The young explorer raised his head. From the gap in the mask, he could see that his face was pale, with beads of sweat the size of beans.

"Is everything okay?" Sean asked.

The young man seemed to have some lingering fears: "Just now we were looking for information on the second floor and saw a very strange figure...

"We were discovered by the figure, and the figure started chasing us... We finally ran up to the third floor, but the figure didn't catch up...

"We are too tired, so just sit here for a while~www.readwn.com~ Sean frowned: "How many of you are together? "

The Tacheng apprentice wiped his sweat: "It's just me."

Sean glanced at Professor Duke, whose eyes began to show concern and tension. Sean shook his head slightly, signaling Duke not to worry.

Sean took two steps back imperceptibly and asked, "Then can you go now?"

The Tacheng apprentice moved his hands and feet and seemed to find that his physical strength had recovered, so he stood up: "I have almost rested..."

Duke frowned, and he found that the shadow behind the young explorer was extraordinarily thick.

After the explorer stood up, Sean heard a faint murmur.

He distinguished carefully and heard someone whispering: "Please don't turn off the light, so I can't read the book..."

The voice said repeatedly: Please don't turn off the light, so I can't read the book...

Sean continued to try to communicate: "Then leave here quickly."

The apprentice in Tacheng nodded and walked to the lantern.

Sean was still calm and didn't make any sound. Duke couldn't help but take a deep breath.

The lantern reflected on the young explorer, and a gray man could be seen standing behind him.

The gray man was so close that his chest was almost pressed against the young man's back, but the young man didn't seem to notice it at all.

The gray man kept walking at the same speed as the young man, and stuck behind him very strangely, looking like an inseparable shadow.

The figure was holding an open book, covering his face, and a creepy whisper kept coming from behind the book:

Please don't turn off the light, so I can't read books...
