The Mafia's Queen: Entangled With A Psycho.

Chapter 98 - Ninety Seven: Joy

" I said no blindfolds," Becca grumbled as Leo helped her out of the car. He blindfolded her all through the ride to God knows where he took her, despite her repeatedly warning him not to do so. He still fucking blindfolded her and tied the shit so tight, Becca could barely catch a glimpse of sunlight.

Leo chuckled as he locked his arm firmly around her waist and guided her to the surprise. The same one he deemed her unworthy of knowing. He refused to give her hints despite all her begging. Cruel

Even with her blindfold on, Leo could still see how heavily she was glaring and it amused him. Both her eyes shooting dagger glares so fierce, they almost tore through the cloth that covered them.

" I will take it off when we get there." He assured and Becca's eyes shrunk even more in the blindfold as she glared harder.

" So are we there yet?" Becca asked as her feet touched the ground, stepping out of the car. She stretched her hands, trying to feel for things in front of her but all she kept touching was Leo's body.

" Almost." He whispered, guiding Becca as they trod towards the entrance.

What is he up to? Becca asked herself for the nth time since they left the house. She knew they were still outside, the cold breeze that caressed her face and the sound of vehicles passing by proved it.

Becca's heart thumped in anticipation as her hand touched the door, gliding her fingers around it until she found the handle and was about to tug at it when Leo's warm hand covered hers and helped her pull.

How his hand was still warm in that bitch of a weather was what Becca didn't know. Perhaps it was the layers upon layers of raw muscle, Becca wasn't sure but something had to be the reason.

She staggered into the place, almost wandering away but Leo kept her in place and took off the blindfold.

" Well, my love, what do you think?" Leo asked as he pocketed the blindfold.

Becca immediately shielded her face as the bright light of the place surged into her eyes. She eyes had been sealed shut for thirty minutes so they needed to get adjusted to the light intensity of the place.

Once her sight returned to normal, she stared at the place, blinking at the empty tables in confusion. There was no one there but them.

Then she turned to look at Leo, who had a toothy grin even brighter than the lights there, and she frowned, not knowing what was going on.

" it's my favorite restaurant." Becca pointed out, feeling horribly confused and Leo fastened his arms around her waist, pulling her closer.

" Yes, it certainly is. It's your restaurant." Leo drawled and Becca's brows furrowed before her gaze darted around the empty restaurant then back at him. She knew what he was saying but at the same time didn't understand it.

" Huh?" Her pulse throbbed as she asked.

" Exactly how you heard it, my love. It's your restaurant now."

Becca's gaze flitted between him and the place again, still unable to believe what was going on. Not ready to accept it either.

" Leo, I really ca—"

Leo placed his finger on her lips to hush her, already knowing what she was going to say.

" What have you learned from the previous times I gave you gifts?" Leo asked and withdrew his finger.

" That you don't take no for an answer." She muttered.

More like he never allows her to say no.

" Close." He stepped back a little, his grin still unscathed, and gestured to the place. " Whenever I give you something, it's from my heart. This restaurant isn't any different."

" But I really can't accept it." She faltered. " It's too much."

How did Leo expect her to accept something like this? It was just too much, she couldn't. She just couldn't.

" The love I have for you is too much but you don't see me complaining."

Becca chewed her lower lip and dropped her gaze, her lashes casting a shadow on her cheek.

Her eyes glistened as she ripped them off the floor to stare at him, the fact that she couldn't refuse it had already been drilled into her multiple times by him. " Thank you."

Leo covered the distance between them in one step and hurled his arms around her, hugging her close. " I prefer you thank me by official calming ownership of this place."

Becca gaped at him. " I'm already so busy with atlas, where would I even find the time to run a restaurant?"

" Well, that's why you have me," Leo answered, smearing her face with confusion.

" You are going to run the restaurant?" Becca asked, bewildered and Leo chuckled.

" No, silly but I can hire people to do so. The profits would then go to you." Leo clarified and Becca's lips parted, ready to refuse his generous offer once more even though she knew he wouldn't let her.

" I can't take all the profit, it's too much." She argued

" Are you really debating this with me? Okay, fine. Take ninety-five percent and I'll take five." Leo offered but Becca shook her head, refusing. It was still too much.

" Take eighty-five percent and I will take fifteen. After all, it was your money that bought the place."

Leo stared at Becca, baffled by her bargaining skills. Would it kill her to accept the gift? Was it so bad to take a gift from him?

" You will take ninety-five percent, end of story." Leo asserted and Becca pursed her lips. Why even bother? She couldn't win against a man as adamant as him anyway.

She gave up and nestled deeper in his arms. Letting the warmth of his body engulf her.

" Thank you." She whispered, different emotions stirring inside her as she remained in his embrace.

A teardrop rolled down Becca's cheek, damping Leo's shirt as she squeezed her eyes shut, resting her head on his chest.

Her mother's wish. Owning this restaurant was her mother's wish and here he was, fulfilling that same wish, the only thing different was he was doing it for her instead.

Becca felt her insides shudder as she sobbed, crying. Drops of tears slithering down her cheeks fast and onto Leo's shirt, saturating as he held her tighter, rubbing her back. Trying to provide more warmth and comfort that did nothing but melt her like butter.

Her lips quivered as she raised her head off his chest, tilting it slightly backward, and stared straight at him. " You didn't have to."

" But I still wanted to. I want to give you everything, Becca." Leo said, cupping her face. " I want to have everything with you."

She stared; all she could do at that moment was stare. Unable to utter anything. Her brain was numbed by the swirling emotions to even think of anything.

She gulped, blinking the tears away. Who was this man and what has she done to deserve someone like him? Someone so perfect. So loving. She certainly didn't do anything heroic, not even in her past life so why? Why did God bless her with a man like him?

Leo didn't speak, neither did he move. Not even an inch. He stood there holding her in his arms, where she truly belong. Where he would keep her forever. He waited for her to speak, at least gather her words but out of her entire vocabulary, only five words were at the tip of her tongue.

" I love you so much."

They drove back home with a big smile on each of their faces and a signed document in an envelope that Becca held in her arms.

She still couldn't believe Leo bought her the restaurant. He made her mother's wish come true.

Her grip on the envelope tightened on the thought, her heart swelling with joy. With love.

She turned to look at Leo, smiling— it has been the only thing she had done ever since he gave her the documents to sign. Smiling so much that her cheeks were starting to hurt but she didn't mind the stinging pain. She didn't care.

" Yes, my love? I know that I'm exceptionally handsome but your stares are just making it more obvious." Leo chuckled, glancing Becca's way and a blush creeping on her cheeks but her bright smile stayed intact.

Never in his life has he felt this fulfilled after doing something. Not even killing bestowed him the amount of joy he was experiencing just by seeing the big smile on Becca's face. Nothing was as satisfying as knowing that he was the reason she was smiling. The pleasure he felt now was a feeling that eclipsed all others.

" Stroking your ego again I see," Becca said and Leo smiled.

" It's not stroking my ego, I speak the truth. I'm just honest. Very honest about everything." He said with a laugh. " I am also very confident in myself."

" I don't doubt it." Becca giggled.

Seriously, she didn't. In the short time she had lived with Leo, he had proven his confidence many times already.. Stripping naked was on the top of the list.
