" Why the heck is he hugging another woman like that?" Becca fumed, her eyes hardening as she watched the scene in front of her.

" Perhaps they're just friends. Friends hug, don't they?" Leo asked, giving the Ace the benefit of the doubt and Becca turned to look at him. She had to admit that Leo kinda had a point, friends do hug each other. Maybe she was jumping to conclusions too early.

But just as she was about to let go of the matter, the infernos in her eyes reignited themselves when she saw Ace's hand squeezing Agnes's butt.

What in the name of twerking cockroaches did she just witness? A guy like Ace in a relationship wasn't supposed to squeeze other women's asses and that too in public. Even despite dating a woman as gorgeous as Navaya, the fucker still went ahead and hooked up with a woman like Agnes, a first-class hoe. And God knows how many more women he had done it with.

' That asshole! How dare he do this to my Navaya?! How could he cheat on her like that? And with someone like Agnes? Did she hoe herself out to him? Damnit, I swear when I get my hands on that worthless bastard, even his mother wouldn't be able to recognize him.' Becca cursed in her head, fuming so much that smoke was coming out of her ears.

If he wanted to cheat from the start then he should have at least found someone hotter than Navaya to do it with. Yeah, Agnes was hot in her way but could not and should not be compared to Navaya in terms of beauty and smarts. Navaya was one of the prettiest women Becca had ever met while Agnes just looked like a plain Jane in front of her.

Becca wanted to go over to where they were and give them a piece of her mind but just as she was about to get up from her seat, she felt Leo squeeze her hand.

" Where are you going?" Leo asked and held her hand captive so she wouldn't leave. He saw the surge of anger she felt through her eyes and had a hint of what she wanted to do.

" I'm going to smash that fucker's balls." She replied and tried to yank her hand out of Leo's grip but he didn't let go.

" Then after that, what then? Yes, you will get the satisfaction of stopping him from having children in the future but that's where it ends, you would just be wasting your time." He said and Becca looked at him in confusion, trying to understand what he was getting at?

" It doesn't end there, I will tell Navaya about his cheating ways and she would dump his ass," Becca explained and Leo shook his head at her.

" How long has your friend been dating the piece of shit?" Leo asked and Becca frowned in confusion.

" Four years," Becca answered and Leo nodded.

" Let me ask you another question, if you hear from someone that I was seen having sex with a woman that wasn't you, would you believe it?" He asked, staring into her eyes, into her soul, and Becca didn't miss the way he said 'with a woman that wasn't you' like he was hinting at something else.

Was he indirectly saying that he wanted to have sex with her?

Becca blinked twice on hearing Leo's question and didn't know what to say, she didn't even know how to start answering it despite it being a question that only needed a 'yes or no' answer. Her brain was completely blank.

Leo saw that she was hesitant to answer and gave her hand another gentle squeeze.

" Answer me." Leo urged and Becca slowly shook her head.

" I don't know. I guess I wouldn't believe it, I mean you wouldn't do that." Becca stammered and Leo flashed her a gentle smile. He rubbed her wrist with his finger.

" You wouldn't believe it despite only being with me for a few days, then what about a relationship that has lasted four years?" Leo tried to reason with her and though Becca now understood what he was talking about, she still thought Navaya needed to know the truth.

" I can't let her keep dating that scumbag, she's smart and would believe me. I'm her best friend." Becca said and tried to peel off Leo's fingers from her wrist but he held it firmer.

" What if she doesn't believe you and thinks that you are out to ruin her relationship?

Listen to me, I have seen how strong the friendship you share with Navaya is, it wouldn't be right if it gets destroyed by an issue that involves that meatbag over there." Leo said and Becca stopped trying to remove his hand from hers. She cast her eyes to the table and stared at the expensive watch on Leo's wrist.

" What should I do then? You don't expect me to let this go, it would be lying to Navaya." She arched a brow, her face incredulous.

" Most definitely not, I'm just saying that in cases like this, showing is better than just telling. Give her something that only a stupid person would deny." Leo let go of her hand and let her process what he just said.

Becca made a broody face as she contemplated what Leo just told her. She wasn't doubting that it was a good idea, no it was an incredible one, but what she was asking herself as if she could pull it off? How she could show Navaya that Ace was cheating on her?

Becca couldn't just call Navaya here to see what she was witnessing because the scandalous part was already over. If she came over now, then she would just see Ace 'coincidentally' sitting and eating ice cream with Agnes. That definitely wouldn't prove anything, would it?

Becca needed to think big, though it's going to leave Navaya broken, she had to expose Ace in the act. And God help her, she wanted to make it as soon as possible.

To free her bestie from the claws of a relationship that is unfair to her. Becca believed Navaya deserved better.

" Let's leave this place before the bastard sees you and starts covering up his tracks." Leo's voice broke her concentration. She nodded and stood up from her seat then locked hands with him. As they were leaving, Leo used his broad figure to shield her so that Ace wouldn't see her and exited the parlor.

Once they got to his car, Becca gnashed her teeth, grinding several curses in it. She grumbled non-stop like an offended kitten that just got woken up from its nap until Leo dropped her at her apartment. But under all her anger tantrums, she was sad. Sad that Navaya would be hurt because of what she wanted to do, worried that Navaya wouldn't take it well. Leo accompanied her to her doorstep, as usual, seeing the sadness through anger she felt, but instead of kissing her as he always did, he hugged her and patted her on the back.

" Thank you for going out with me today and about that bastard's issue, I trust your judgment. I believe that you will make the right choices." He said as he rubbed her back in a circular motion, giving her the confidence boost she badly wanted. The one she badly needed.

" Thank you, Leo, for being here for me and believing in me." She thanked and Leo squeezed her tighter, as if afraid to let go.

" No need to thank me, just remember that I will be here, watching over you. You can come to me whenever you want." He freed her from his bone-crushing hug and grabbed both her wrist, swinging them side to side.

" Watching over me? Like a guardian angel or what?" She giggled and her lips stretched into a smile that tempted Leo to kiss her senseless again, but he retrained himself because that wasn't what she needed now.

She needed to be comforted not seduced.

" Yes, sweetheart, a guardian angel that sees everything and is willing to do anything for you." Leo caressed her cheeks and stared deep into her eyes. " I love you, Becca. For everything you are and everything you think you're not. Although I didn't say this before I saw the guilt and sadness hidden below your entire facade. I don't know what they are for but what I'm saying is you don't need them anymore. You have me now, I want to take them all away. I want to make you happy. Please let me." Leo poured his heart out to her despite knowing she wasn't ready for it yet. He did it to let her know that someone was out there with her, looking after her even when she thought she was alone.

He wanted Becca to know how much he cared about her, how much he was willing to do for her, and if that wasn't enough, he wanted to wrap her in a fuzzy blanket, hold and shelter her from all the evil in the world.

Becca stared at Leo with conflicted eyes, she knew that he was interested in her from the start but never expected a straight-up confession from him like that.

She was taken aback.

She stretched out her hands to touch Leo's face and just the sensation of her touching his face, sent shivers through him.

" Leo, I don't know what to say. I... I—" She stammered, her lips quivering. She still didn't know if she felt the same way as he did or not and didn't know what to tell him. The whole thing still scared and confused her despite her acting like it didn't.

" You don't have to force yourself to respond, don't push yourself because whether it's now or next year, whenever you feel ready to open up to me, I will always be here waiting for you. Taking care of you without you even knowing.. I will wait for you, Becca."
