The Mafia's Queen: Entangled With A Psycho.

Chapter 19 - Eighteen: Executioner

Leo was now in his car heading to complete a different task, another chore. His anger had simmered down a little bit but it wasn't completely gone so he hoped the person he was going to meet better behave or he wouldn't be able to promise to be on his best behavior.

Leo decided to pay Kristina Ramus a little visit as it seems that it has been so long since he did so. Kristina Ramus was Becca's older half-sister who worked as a supermodel for a modeling agency in Paris but she recently came back to the States because she had an important one-week-long event to attend in New York before going to Massachusetts for her family's party.

Leo knew Kristina through her older brother, Johnny, who he was close friends with since their college days so he and Kristina normally got along and even became good friends. But things didn't remain the same between them and her behavior towards him completely changed ever since he joined the mafia.

Leo had ordered one of his men to track down the exact house she was currently living in because she never stayed in one place, always flying from one city to the other due to how much her job required her to travel around. He was glad that she was still in the country, at least he didn't have to waste many resources to find her. He checked his wristwatch and sighed when he saw what the time was.

Damn!

This was going to be a long night.

He got to the house that she was currently staying in, it was the same one he had gotten her a few years ago when they were still friends so he had a spare key to it. He was informed by the person who tracked down her whereabouts that she normally comes back home about around 10:00 pm and it was already 9:30 pm so he decided to wait for her inside and maybe have a drink or two while he was at it.

He walked to her fridge and took a can of soda since she didn't have any alcohol and sat on her living room couch with one ankle crossed over his other knee. He patiently waited for her to show up and right on time, she walked through the door. She didn't see him at first and turned to the door to close properly but before she could finish locking it, Leo's voice rang in the room.

" Welcome back." Leo greeted and smirked when he saw her shocked expression. Kristina was startled when she heard a man's deep voice coming from her living room, she turned around and saw Leo sitting on her couch sipping from a can of her favorite soda. He was wearing his usual all-black attire and had the first two buttons of his long-sleeved shirt opened, revealing a slight view of the black ink on his chest. The sight in front of her was just so sexily pleasing to the eyes and she found herself staring at the movement of his adam apple as he drank the soda.

It was crazy how extremely attractive he was that mesmerizing women was quite easy to him. They called Kane effect and she had just fallen victim to it again like a rookie despite it not being the first time.

She even had something on her mind to say but instantly forgot it when she saw him take off his coat and roll up his sleeves.

Kristina mentally slapped herself across the face for finding that extremely attractive but couldn't blame herself much because it was Leo Kane after all. The man that could even make yawning look extremely sexy, his entire existence was a turn-on. She blinked twice and finally recalled what she was about to say.

" What the hell are you doing here? How did you even get in?" She hastily asked after her consciousness flew back in through the window.

" I have a key, did you forget? You gave one to me before." He responded as he played with the key in his hand.

Oh, shoot! How could she forget that she gave him a key?

Back then she didn't even think twice before giving him the spare key to the house because he used to be one of her most trustworthy best friends and since he was the one that bought the house as a gift for her when she turned eighteen, it just felt right to give it to him but now things were different. They weren't friends anymore but mere acquaintances and him showing up at her house unannounced was considered rude and annoying.

" You have no right to be here." She said as she finished locking the door and tossed the keys on the center table.

" You said that you hated me, that you didn't want anything to do with me but here you are, living in the house I bought you. You didn't try to sell even once" Leo said with an amused voice and dropped the empty soda can on the table.

" I said I hated you not the house, why would I sell a perfectly useful house that I could live in and choose to stay in a hotel instead?" She folded her arms over her chest and rolled her eyes at him.

" I see you haven't changed a single bit, you are still the realistic and smart girl I used to know." He pointed out and nodded in satisfaction. He liked the way she thought and analyzed things. She doesn't allow her emotions to influence her choices and that's why she usually made the best ones. Kristina being the person she was, the daughter of Regina Ramus herself, was a very straightforward person who hated sugar-coating the truth when she could just tell it to you upfront. She had the same mentality as her mother and strongly believed in the saying ' it's not an insult if it's true.'

Leo also thought like that, he believed that the world was harsh but the truth was even harsher. That's was one of the reasons why he and Kristina got along nicely but the only thing that set them apart from each other was that Kristina was the kind of person who didn't force things to happen. She believed that if it's meant to be then it would be but Leo was different in that aspect. Leo Kane was the kind of person who could go to another freaking planet just to get what he wanted, he could go to any lengths to accomplish his goals and hated waiting around for manna to fall from heaven.

" Nothing can change how much I despise you." She frowned and her eyes burnt with animosity even though once upon a time a few years ago, her eyes were filled with adoration when she looked at him.

" When did it all come to this? You are hating me for something that wasn't even my fault."

" Wasn't your fault?" Her frown deepened. " You were supposed to be Johnny's friend, we were all friends but what did you do, huh? You made him join the mafia, you turned him into your fucking executioner! You ruined his life, stained his hands with blood and I will never forgive you for that!" She yelled angrily at him while pointing her index finger at him.

" You talk as if the blood of the people being spilled by him were innocent. The people he killed weren't saints, they were also fucking murders." He spoke nonchalantly about killing as if he was talking about a sport. Kristina looked at him and shook her head in disdain. She gritted her teeth in anger and fisted her hands.

" They were still people." She argued, not accepting what Leo was telling her.

Leo was a fucking killer who made more than half of his money from illegal businesses and was dragging her brother into it. He was supposed to be her brother's best friend but all he did was lead Johnny down the lonely dark road he went down.

Leo stood up from the couch and took two steps towards her.

" Yeah, people with despicable crimes on their heads. People that have committed countless atrocious acts, ruined other people's lives, do you believe they deserved to live?" He asked, slightly raising his voice at her. Then she became quiet for a while before she finally spoke up again.

" You have changed Leo, ever since you took up that position of yours. It has turned you into a monster, a monster, that's what you are now." She yelled, venting out all her anger on him.

" Johnny is a grown man who is capable of making his own decisions. All I did was show him freedom, I gave him liberty, you should be grateful-" He wasn't able to finish his sentence when she cut him off.

" Grateful? To you? You sick bastard!" He strode towards her and pinned her on the wall with his hand on her throat. He gripped it firmly but not tightly.

" Watch your tongue Kris or I might just forget that we have history, I will forget that I'm friends with your brother and teach an expensive lesson. Don't forget that while you were waiting for that modeling agency to consider you, I made some calls and made your first modeling contract fall on your laps. I made you, put you in the position you are now. Everything you have today is because of me so don't test me, okay? It's just not worth it." He warned furiously, he might have liked how straightforward she was but sometimes she took too far and when she did, it wasn't called telling the truth anymore but being rude.

" What's wrong Leonardo? Are you all bark with no bite?" She taunted and he squeezed her neck harder, literally choking her. Her face turned bright red with the pressure he was applying.

" Don't make me do something that I might regret, angel face," Leo warned again. He had treated her as a friend, a sister, he gave her everything she ever asked for and could also equally take everything away. She then started struggling, trying to break free from his hold but she couldn't.

" Let go, Leo, you're hurting me!" She screamed with a choked voice as she was already running of breath.

" I don't fucking care!" He glared at her. He knew his hand would going to leave bruises, he also knew that he couldn't kill her because it would just cause too much trouble and problems for him. Leo already had a lot of those on his plate to even think of adding more, but still wanted to make his point, to get the information across. She owed him, big time, and she should never mess with someone who could easily end her just like that.. He then loosen his grip around her neck but still didn't let go.
