Chapter 184: A glass of warm milk

I never wished for a prince charming, I dreamed of my big bad wolf.

When they arrived at Donovan Company building, Calleb drove the car to the basement near the private lift that would bring them straight to Torak's office. As with his other offices, such facilities ensured his privacy.

Meanwhile, ever since their conversation about the mark of Lycan, Raine felt slightly sad and didn't talk anymore, yet when they were inside the lift, she became cheerful again.

[Raph, I am with Raine. Where are you? Is the Alpha with you?] Calleb mind linked Raphael.

[Yes, we are in a meeting. We'll finish within thirty minutes. Just wait inside the office.] Raphael answered while listening to the presentation of the head of the Marketing Department.

[Got it.]

Calleb couldn't reach Torak because he closed his mind. He would usually do that when he was in the middle of an important meeting, but Raphael could be reached in case something urgent came up.

"Torak and Raphael are in the middle of a meeting. They shouldbe finished in thirty minutes." Calleb informed Raine.

"You did 'that'?" Raine referred to how Calleb did mind link. She looked at Calleb with envy, slightly pouting her lips.

"Don't look at me like that." Calleb pulled down the baseball cap so Raine could stop giving him that look. "Ask Torak to mark you and you will be able to do the same." He suggested.

Raine didn't reply directly, but when she stepped out from the lift, she grumbled. "No. I will not ask him to do that."

Upon hearing that Calleb raised his eyebrows. "Then stop sulking about it." He followed Raine and sat on the sofa while Raine sat on Torak's chair.

Her body was so small and didn't fit her surroundings. The big work table and leather office chair almost swallowed her whole body, especially when she lazily rested her head on the table.

"If I ask for it, it will feel like he is not sincere when he does it." Raine sighed.

Calleb also sighed with her. Women are truly hard to understand. "What would you like to eat? You haven't had your lunch yet. Torak will be upset with me if he knows this." And it was hard to please the Alpha.

Raine chuckled when Calleb mentioned Torak's name to bring her to heel. "I want to have lunch with Torak." She replied.

Since Torak was in the middle of a meeting now, he certainly hasn't eaten too.

"Well, I will get you a glass of warm milk then while waiting for him." Calleb remembered every detail of Torak's ways of taking care of Raine.

The Alpha didn't hold back when it came to his mate, seemingly indifferent to others' opinions on publicly displaying his affection.

According to Torak, Raine needed warm milk to gain a bit more weight as she was too skinny. However, Calleb felt like he was babysitting a five year old little girl instead of a teenager.

Raine didn't say anything nor did she move from her position as she took off her baseball cap and stared at the clear blue sky outside through the floor-to-ceiling window. She was deliberating why Torak hasn't marked her yet.

"Who are you? What are you doing sitting there?"

A high-pitched woman's voice startled Raine as she lifted her head and looked at the other woman in business attire.

She hasshort hair the color of dark brick that tumbled down her shoulder. Her eyes were staring at Raine in panic because no one has ever entered Torak's office without approval before, more so a woman.

When Raine was in Torak's office to study with Mrs. Martha a few weeks ago, nobody had ever seen her as she always took the private lift whenever she came. At that time, no other employees except Calleb and Raphaelwere allowed to enter his office. However, since Raine haven't been to the office lately, the rules loosened up a bit.

The woman knew that Torak and Raphael were in a meeting, but since she saw Calleb come out of the office, she thought it would be alright to place on the table the important documents that Torak wanted two days ago.Who would have thought she would meet someone, a girl at that, sitting comfortably on Torak's chair. Wouldn't Torak be angry later? Her big boss will certainly not appreciate it if someone touched his things without his permission.

"You shouldn't sit there." Hastily, she walked towards Raine and yanked her arm, forcing her to stand up. "If Mr. Donovan sees you, he will be very angry." The woman shuddered when she remembered how angry Torak was when someone from the government barged into his office, thinking his position was important enough to meet Torak for collaborationeven without an appointment.

Raine blinked her eyes when she was forced to move from Torak's leather chair.

"It's alright. He will not get angry…" Raine tried to explain to the woman, but she just wouldn't listen to her.

The woman dragged Raine away from Torak's desk and faced her. "Who are you? How did you get inside this office? You have to leave before someone sees you." She warned Raine.

Seeing how plainly Raine dressed herself, she thought Raine was an ordinary girl who somehow managed to illicitly get inside Torak's office.

Torak is a famous figure within the business world, but when he moved his office to this city recently, his fame skyrocketed. He was featured not only in business news but also in gossip columns. Media outlets competed to find any information about Torak. He was considered one of the hottest bachelors and women as well as teenagers were interested about his private life and his love life.

Every successful young businessman who is still single is like a green light for those single ladies out there.
