The Love of a Lycan

Chapter 152: Let's hear what they are talking about!

Having Jenedieth over was already an unpleasant thing to go through. With her standing only three steps away from him was beyond disgustful. He thought it wouldn't get any worse than just having her under his roof, but now he was disgusted even more so by her shameless demand of talking in private with him. Torak was immediately flooded with hatred, and aversion because of her scent.

Her scent... Her awful scent had now polluted the air.

There was something wrong with her scent. Torak didn't realize this before, because Jenedieth was standing quite far from him. He didn't think much of her strange scent at the beginning. Because all the things that mattered for him was the information about Raine. He needed that information from her more than anything. He craved for it. Because it was about his mate, Raine.

He didn't want Raine to suddenly disappear again. He couldn't have it to ever happen ever again. What if she couldn't return this time? What if something happened to her like in the Village of Angels, or even worse? Torak was aware of what he and his brothers had done to the Village of Angels. Their doings caused the extinction of guardian angels and shadow warriors. Just the thought of it had him shuddered.

Torak frowned as he sniffed the air. Jenedieth's scent didn't feel right.

"Let's talk inside your study room." Jenedieth walked past Torak, strolling towards the study room.

It wasn't difficult for Jenedieth to find Torak's study room because it should've been strongly filled with his scent. And also, she was quite often going into his study room in the past. After all, there was a time in their life when they were together.

Torak didn't dismiss the idea of going to his study room. Quietly, he followed Jenedieth. At some point, he was assured that Raine was safe. She was with Raphael upstairs. He had mind-linked his Beta earlier, the moment he was close enough to the house to hear Raphael's thoughts. He was assured for a moment because Raine was safe with Raphael, but still had to be alarmed for Jenedieth's presence.

Two steps ahead of him, Jenedieth was leading the way. She stopped, and guessed it right. She pushed open the door to enter the study room, and held it open to let Torak walk past the door.

Without beating around the bush, the supreme Alpha commanded immediately, "Speak." said Torak rigidly, he wanted to make this conversation to be quick and short.

"So impatient like usual." Jenedieth chuckled.

"Get it straight to the point, or leave. You had been banished from my pack." Torak reminded her. Perhaps Jenedieth wasn't aware about her current status. Because the moment she was saved by Lilith, Torak banished her right away under severe accusation of running away from an imprisonment.

Jenedieth also wasn't aware of this big decision that Torak made. Her happy face slightly changed as she looked at the cold-blooded man in front of her.

"I've been banished? So I am a rogue now…?" This realization made her confused, but it only lasted for a few moments before she shrugged casually. "I will count that into my deal then."

Torak didn't say anything about this. No matter what Jenedieth had in mind that she assumed she would get it, in the end, it was Torak who would have had the final thing to say.

"Alright, I will talk now." Jenedieth raised both of her hands as if she surrendered under Torak's impenetrable gaze." Belphegor, and Lilith are planning something together to get your mate."

"What is their plan?" Torak knew the sloth was after Raine the moment he appeared inside the hotel room. It would not be only him who targeted Raine, Lucifer also had the same intention.

"You have to agree with my condition first." Jenedieth demanded.

Torak didn't reply to her request, but his gesture could be interpreted as if he was listening to her gibberish talk.

Seeing this, Jenedieth wasted no time to open her mouth, and started to list down her demands.

==============

Raine was hugging her knees while sitting on the same sofa. Suddenly, Calleb appeared from the corner of the living room there on the second floor.

He was panting slightly when he approached Raine, and Raphael.

"Did you just now arrive?" Raphael put aside his phone, after receiving several calls regarding Torak's business.

He knew that Torak had arrived a few minutes ago and was actually talking with Jenedieth inside his study room now. Because of his duty, he couldn't leave Raine alone. That was why he just stayed there to accompany her. Raphael had informed Raine as well that Torak had arrived and what he was doing now.

Raine asked to go to the study room, because she wanted to know what the information that Jenedieth had was. She wanted to know, because it was claimed to be about her, but Raphael didn't allow her to come. He thought that it wouldn't be a good idea to put Raine in the same room with Jenedieth. Especially with the strangeness in Jenedieth now that he sensed before. He just couldn't figure out what.

Safety wise, it was better for Raine to stay away from her, as far as it was possible. On the other hand, Raphael didn't have any idea either about what kind of information that Jenedieth brought with her. Besides, it would be best for Raine, if Torak was the one who delivered her about it all, once they figure out what this information actually was.

Torak had the right to do so, since he was the first person to know about this information directly from Jenedieth. So then, the Alpha could decide himself whether he had to let Raine know about it, or not.

"How can I outran the Alpha?!" Calleb grumbled, and snatched a bottle of water on the table. He gulped it down in one rough motion.

"Stay here with Luna. I have something to do." Raphael said as he dialed a series of numbers, and went ahead, even before Calleb could answer him.

The Beta glanced at Raine who was staring at him sullenly. It seemed to him that she was looking unsatisfied about something.

"He has been busy since this afternoon." Raine informed Calleb in a low voice. Her habit of talking to almost sound like a whisper, had not changed.

"Oh…" Calleb gave her a nod of understanding before he slumped his body on the sofa. He was really tired. For the first time after a long while, he got to run that fast. He didn't see it coming. It was never in his imagination that he had to run that fast today. Of all things, it was not chasing the enemy, it was the Alpha whom he after.

The moment he informed Torak about Jenedieth's visit. At once, he shifted into his Lycan form, leaving the furious two shareholders that had been kicked out by him from the investment.

"What is it?" Calleb raised his head to look at Raine, she had been staring at him since the moment he was there. "Do you need something?"

Raine nodded. "I want to see Torak."

Calleb scratched the back of his head. "But, the Alpha is talking with the bad girl."

"I want to know what they are talking about." Raine replied with a frown.

"I don't think that'll be a good idea…" Calleb stroked his clean chin, contemplating. Although actually, he was also curious, and wanting to know the reason why Jenedieth came to this city after she escaped from the dungeon that day some time ago. But... "Raine, there's no way. He will absolutely get angry…" in his head, the image of Torak being angry made the Beta shuddered in fear.

Raine shook her head stubbornly. "He will not." She said in certainty.

Calleb gave this some thought before he stood up and grinned mischievously. "I think you are right. The Alpha will not get angry the moment he sees you." He felt energized, and motivated even further by the idea of knowing the conversation between the two of them. Because their relationship in the past was slightly complicated.

Suddenly his curiosity killed the rational side in his head that he forgot about the risks behind it all. It might be right that Torak wouldn't get angry at Raine. But on the other side, he would definitely be in trouble, even danger, if ever the Alpha didn't like his decision of bringing Raine over.

"Let's go." Raine suddenly brightened up and stood up first.
