Tong Xuelu said, “It is a good thing to skip a grade. I assume you have already completed 5th grade’s textbooks before you broached me with this idea?”

Tong Jiaming nodded. “I borrowed a classmate’s brother’s 5thgrade textbooks and had already gone through them over the winter vacation.”

Tong Jiaxin’s eyes widened. “When did you do that, Second Brother? How come I didn’t know about that?”

One cannot just skip a grade because one wanted to. He must take and pass an examination first.

Tong Xuelu, “When you have successfully skipped a grade, you can have any reward that you want.”

She treated the three children fairly. Anyone who performed well would be awarded. Anyone who misbehaved would be punished.
