18 – Necromancer in the center

From noble mtl dot com

By Friday, Ed had been defeated by students 200 times. As it was a performance evaluation, the goal was to get all the students to pass. As a result of Ed’s little effort, all of the students were able to pass.

The students thought negatively at first, but it was a special experience to face the skeletons handled by the necromancer, and fighting 1:3 was also a special experience. And since it wasn’t dealing with people, it was also an advantage that there was no need to limit the output of magic.

So, during the performance evaluation of class C, one of the newly brought out skeletons was also broken, so when the performance evaluation was over, there were 2 destroyed skeletons and 5 skeletons in poor condition.

Ed thought that if he wasn’t as skilled in self-destruction as he was, he couldn’t take a three-week class with seven. Considering the performance evaluation, wouldn’t we need 100 more skeletons? I’d rather fight against a stronger skeleton, but that’s because there’s no big difference from sparring.

It was decided to receive the three remaining skeletons from Glodia as a bonus, so the three skeletons that looked like new now belonged to Ed. Glodia approached Ed who was adjusting the skeleton’s core and said.

“Instructor Ed had a hard time evaluating performance.”

“Isn’t it Ed, now that you’ve finished your job as an assistant instructor?”

“I’m an assistant instructor until I leave work today.”

“Is that so? Then you must still be Professor Glodia.”

“Shall we go in for dinner tonight?”

“Yes. That’s right. Professor Glodia will be touching the skeleton until she gets off work.”

Glodia raised her lips slightly when she said that Ed, who usually returned first after fixing the skeleton if he had time, would wait for him. However, when he said he was touching the skeleton while waiting, he felt once again that the opponent in front of him was a necromancer.

“Then I’ll come back after work.”

Glodia waved her hand and left the storage room inside the lab.

“Is this a normal retirement?”

It was very different from when Ed ran out in a fit of anger from the army he had been in for nearly four years in the North. While coming down to the center after getting on the train for the first time, he felt sorry for his subordinates because he ran out of the unit without following the normal retirement procedures, but he thought that Gray would have filled the vacancy he created, so he decided to cut his nerves.

‘Winter will come soon. They’ll do just fine without me.’

The early northern winter arrives from mid- to late-October. As the time has come for monsters to stir, the northern part enters into a quasi-war system. Thinking about the time when the sprouts that will become Gigant-class monsters called Juniors grow rapidly and lead an army to the Necropolis, thinking about it, I was quite happy that I could spend such a difficult time in such a warm center.

‘Because the North is going well without me.’

He was one of the 18 special necromancers, and even if there were 17 of them, the remaining one would have been filled right away. Ed, who thought that the North was no longer his business, decided to focus on going to the South, where it was warmer than the Warm Center.

“Did you reduce the patrol too much?”

“It’s a bit much, but Captain Bodemir is here too.”

The soldiers of the 7th guerrilla unit were slightly frightened when they saw the monster army unfolding before their eyes. Since it was still early, there were no monsters that had grown to Gigant-level, but the scale of the monster army was quite large because there were five junior-level monsters that could be said to be the seeds. As each person touched their necromancer license, they began to pull out the Skeleton Knight from subspace.

The number of Skeleton Knights summoned by 10 soldiers of the 7th Guerrilla Army had already started to exceed 100, but the number of monsters was close to thousands.

“Keew!!!”

“come!”

“Prepare the curse!”

Monsters with twisted shapes, goblins, orcs, and lizardmen, all with characteristics of various different races, but with one thing in common, all black and gray monsters started running toward the white skeleton. Although they did not carry weapons, monsters whose bodies were like weapons clashed with the Skeleton Knights.

Following the order of the Necromancer, the Skeleton Knight cut down the monster and the Necromancer applied a curse and used elemental magic. Skeleton Knights had a slight advantage over normal monsters, but Junior was in a different weight class. Even if the Necromancer poured out a curse, he had some tolerance, so he started to break the Skeleton Knight with ease. Depending on the condition, the broken Skeleton Knight was either restored or immediately replaced with a bone spear to defeat monsters in succession.

“I’ve seen him since the days of Terut Academy, but I have to admit that he falls in between me. I’m disqualified as a commander.”

Gray opened the subspace by touching the limited-class necromancer license. 7 Skeleton Knights of a different class than those used by the soldiers of the guerrilla army appeared. Compared to the Skeleton Knights of the soldiers, he was about one head taller and the weapon he was holding was huge. The Gray Skeleton Knights ran forward and participated in the battle.

-Suddenly!

The Gray Skeleton Knight did not share the sum with the monsters. I just started dismantling the monster with the weapon I was holding. Accurately cuts down monsters with strong power. However, seeing such a powerful Skeleton Knight competing with Junior at almost the same level, Gray’s impression was frowned upon.

“I think it’s better to use a Death Knight. If you drag it out longer, your Skeleton Knights will get more damage.”

Gray nodded at the words of the adjutant standing next to him and opened the subspace once more.

– Took

A light step for a Death Knight. No, the armament itself was a light Death Knight. The bones of high-ranking warriors used as materials for Death Knights are very precious. In order to protect such bones, the basic Death Knight was to wear very thick armor, but this Death Knight was wearing light armor that defied common sense. And the weapons were also small. The Death Knight used a greatsword or godfather as its main weapon to make good use of its strength beyond its limits, but this Death Knight was holding a weapon used in the East called the Hwando.

“Go. Number 14.”

Gray ordered the Death Knight No. 14 that Ed had. Gray felt that No. 14 was looking at him for some reason, but before he felt the discomfort, No. 14 entered the battlefield at twice the speed of a Skeleton Knight.

When Hwando draws a semicircle, the death knight opens the way to Junior, who he has to deal with, while showing off his powerful power that three or four monsters can be sliced. As soon as the Death Knight created a road made up of the corpses of monsters and collided with Junior, it tried to resonate with the core, which Skeleton Knight could not do, and emitted black sword energy.

-Suddenly!

“It’s a strangely strong feeling for a common Death Knight. Did Ed benefit greatly from that guy?”

Special Necromancers usually have their own Death Knights and do not use public Death Knights. So, Gray thought that there was a possibility that the unique Death Knight, which had been neglected, might have been rediscovered, and opened the subspace again. The Death Knight walked out from there wearing what most people would think of as heavy armor and a greatsword slung over his shoulder. The large shield held in the Death Knight’s left hand had the emblem of the Vodermir family engraved on it.

“Go. Death Knight Cross.”

Death Knight Cross ran out at Gray’s command. With a loud, earth-shattering sound, he passed the Skeleton Knight and the monster in front of him and immediately struck Junior’s head with a mana-filled greatsword. Cross, who showed off the power of the Vodemir family’s Death Knight, moved towards the next junior. Death Knight No. 14, who saw this, came down to the friendly formation to further cut down the monsters fighting the Skeleton Knight.

The situation ended quickly when the 2nd Death Knight stepped forward and defeated the Juniors individually, breaking down the command system. About half of the soldiers’ Skeleton Knights needed repair, and Gray only needed to repair one. Gray said, storing the neatly returned Death Knight and Skeleton Knight in subspace.

“Be wary of monsters and wait until the retrieval team you contacted in advance arrives. The waiting time shouldn’t be too long.”

Gray withdrew from the battlefield with his adjutant. 7 The guerrillas sighed and ordered the skeletons to make a place where each of them could rest comfortably and lit a fire. When I was able to catch my breath, a soldier said.

“Death Knight No. 14. Did you see the original movement?”

At those words, the other soldiers also thought back to when Edgar had used No. 14 until now. What should I say? I sometimes got the weird feeling that Death Knight was laughing, but his sword skills were better than Ed’s. The attack that feeds 3 slashes at an invisible speed to a Gigant-class monster is a Death Knight, but it was awe-inspiring.

“Isn’t it because he’s a junior that he can control his strength? I heard the Vodemir family’s Death Knights are also amazing?”

“Yes. He cut off Junior’s head with a single blow with a great sword. He became quiet with one blow?

The soldiers had won anyway, so they ignored the difference.

“Uh… is that Mr. Ed, the necromancer who joined Cetin…?”

While Ed was purchasing what he could in the center before heading south, he met a suspicious person wearing a robe who spoke to him at the store.

“I’m Ed, but who is that?”

“I am the vice president of the Central Necromancer Association….”

The man spoke softly and took out a necromancer license and handed it to Ed. It was just a piece of paper, an ordinary license used in the North that was not subject to subspace magic.

“So, I don’t remember anything going on at the Central Necromancer Association?”

“Would you like to join our association, Mr. Ed?”

I felt that this person’s invitation to join the association was more suspicious than Veina, who had been recommending religion to the Necromancer.

“Shall we go and talk for a while?”

“yes yes….”

Normally, I would ignore suspicious people, but since I was a little curious about the necromancer in a place other than the north, Ed decided to take a moment.
