92. Owing a Debt of Gratitude

Translator: Ning LL

That was beyond everyone’s expectation.

Because it had happened too fast, the man who gave that malicious roar had already rushed to Feng Xi when everyone gathered their thoughts. Then, that man threw the long spear which was like a poisonous black snake with full strength to the back of Feng Xi. Meanwhile, the latter was in a fierce fight with Carendra, so he had no time to defend himself at all.

“Ming Heiyu, how dare you!”

Nangong Li’s angry voice suddenly came through, sounding quite threatening. However, he was still a bit far from the arena, and it would be too late for him to rush over.

However, it was like Ming Heiyu hadn’t heard his words at all. There was only bloodthirst and eagerness for revenge in his eyes. His long spear which seemed to have been poisoned was only one meter away from Feng Xi under everyone’s gaze.

At this crucial moment, a black figure suddenly showed up behind Feng Xi’s back like a flash. There was a bloodthirsty look appearing on his cold face, and the dark red spiritual energy started to surge fiercely. After that, the cruel voice of him came to Ming Heiyu and Feng Xi’s ears, “Blood Explosion! Blood Killing!”

The rolling red clouds gushed to Ming Heiyu whose eyes were filled with scare and blocked him right away. The dark red light gave out a threatening aura, making the air feel very stifling. A single glance at the red light would give people a sense of depression. Worse still for Ming Heiyu, he was locked inside the light. Everyone could already smell a scent of death.

Before Ming Heiyu could cry out in pain, the bloody red cage shrank to the size as big as a man. As Carendra uttered the word ‘Destroy’ in a cold voice, an explosive thundery sound came through from the cage. Perhaps it was because of the dark red barrier outside that the explosion hadn’t harmed anyone else and finally stopped after lasting for two minutes.

When the dark red smoke disappeared, a dead body fell onto the ground dripping with blood. There was not a single piece of his body remaining unharmed and and the scary look on his face remained obvious. However, judging from his dull look, he was nothing more than a dead man.

The square fell into silence.

No one had expected that the one who had saved the boy was his opponent, Carendra. Perhaps the latter was able to take the first place without the slightest effort if Feng Xi had been attacked. However, Carendra chose to fend the attack for Feng Xi. Everyone felt that the brave and powerful man deserved their respect. In the meantime, no one would have pity for Ming Heiyu who couldn’t afford to lose and launched a sneak attack on Feng Xi. Those evil-minded men would stew in their own juices!

“Whew! That was close!”

Feng Xi’s buddies almost had an heart attack seeing what had happened. Although they knew that nothing would happen to their master, such an incident still gave them a great shock. If something went wrong and Feng Xi got injured, none of them was able to bear the consequence. Luckily, Carendra had saved Feng Xi, otherwise they could not imagine what would happen to them.

However, they also never thought that Carendra who seemed very aloof and always kept others at a distance would save their master at the critical moment. ‘Perhaps he really is a good guy who deserves to be Master’s friend!’ Feng Xi’s buddies thought.

At the moment, Feng Xi turned around in shock with the power in his punch disappearing. When he saw Ming Heiyu who had been killed by Carendra, he was a bit surprised that the latter would have saved him. The stronger emotion Feng Xi had right now was excitement because he was assuming that Carendra had been moved by him.

“Carendra, you are great!” Feng Xi walked over to Carendra and tried to pat on the latter’s shoulder. However, the latter dodged his hand, so he only touched the air.

Carendra looked at Feng Xi indifferently without saying anything, still as proud and aloof as before.

Feng Xi had already got used to Carendra’s way of treating others. Also, the only one Feng Xi was afraid of was Uncle White. With a friendly smile on Feng Xi’s face, he jumped to Carendra and patted on his chest, saying, “Carendra, you have saved my life. Now we are friends. Anything you need, just come find me. I’ll definitely help you!”

“You?” Carendra uttered one word for the first time, in an obviously doubtful tone.

Feng Xi nodded with a beaming smile on his face like an innocent young master. It was like he was not the one who had almost killed Yang Mingyuan!

“You? What do you think you can help me with?” Carendra gave a snort.

Though the boy really impressed Carendra because he who seemed under twenty had already reached the sixth grade of the God King realm, which meant that he was a peculiar talented cultivator, Carendra still thought that Feng Xi was just a spoiled young master when judging from the latter’s character. ‘A boy like him might have never suffered. No matter how strong his background is, he still can not help me!’ Carendra said.

This was the Netherworld, not the God and Demon Kingdom!

Seeing the dazed look on the boy’s face, Carendra showed a cold look and turned around to leave. He did not expect that the boy would grab his sleeve.

“Tell me, how can I know how to help you if you don’t tell me anything?” Feng Xi still didn’t give up while refusing to let go of Carendra’s sleeve, “You have saved my life after all. I will never forget your kindness. Just tell me what you want, I’ll do my best to help you.”

Carendra stared at him coldly with a black vortex appearing vaguely in his black eyes.

Seeing that Carendra remained silent, Feng Xi realized that Carendra still didn’t trust him. Then he raised his hand and tried to make an oath, “If you don’t trust me, I can swear on my leader’s name!”

Hearing that, his buddies outside the arena were almost choked by their own saliva.

‘Master, how can you swear on the King’s name so randomly! You can choose anyone but him! What if you have already sworn but the King disagrees? Moreover, how can you make an oath so randomly? The Way of Heaven still exists! What if you are not able to do the thing you have promised to do?!’

Although Feng Xi’s buddies were confident that this kind of situation wouldn’t happen, they still felt that it was necessary for Feng Xi to be careful. ‘What if Carendra asks for the moon?’ That was their second thought.

God of Books remembered that he told his master that one should never make an oath so randomly not so long ago. However, Feng Xi had already forgot about that. God of Books really felt that this boy was hopeless!

“Your leader?” Carendra frowned, feeling a bit surprised to hear those words.

‘Is his leader the one who has supported him?’ He thought.

Feng Xi saw that Carendra seemed to be interested in his words. Then he continued, “That’s right, my leader is fabulous!”

“I’m not interested in your leader. You said you could help me, then I assume that I can make any request?” Carendra felt that the boy would never give up until he reached his goal when seeing the serious look on the boy’s face. So Carendra decided to think of a way to let the boy drop the idea forever.

“Of course.” Feng Xi said firmly.

“So, can you help me reach the next realm without having any bad effects? If you can’t, you must stop bragging!” Carendra did have asked for the moon. Or rather, he was deliberately making things difficult for Feng Xi.

Everyone knew that it was impossible to reach the next realm without miraculous pills. The most important thing was that even if one had miraculous pills, he was still not able to reach the next realm without having any bad effects. The method which could help someone reach the God Sovereign realm from the sixth grade of the God King realm had never appeared once. It required a great amount of spiritual energy and a precious chance to reach the God Sovereign realm. An improper way to cultivate would lead to a bad result to a cultivator’s current and future cultivation life and might even make that cultivator stuck in the current cultivation level forever.

There was no way Carendra didn’t know about that. The only reason why he had made that request was that he wanted to make Feng Xi give up.

Even so, Carendra did have told Feng Xi what he wanted most now. The headquarters of the Sura family were in the Netherworld, but they had also developed a few forces in the God and Demon Kingdom. About half a month ago, Carendra received a piece of bad news.

The people from the Icy Valley had spotted a valuable piece of land for cultivating which belonged to the Sura family. There was a Life River in that land. It was said that the Fountain of Life had been hidden in that river, endowing the river with a bit of its energy. Any cultivator who cultivated in the River would yield twice the result with half the effort. Not only would the body of the cultivator be strengthened, but his soul would be nurtured and improved.

This secret had been kept by the Sura family, but it didn’t occur to them that the people of the Icy Valley would know that.

The Icy Valley was not a large force in the God and Demon kingdom, but was very famous in the Northern area. It was said that they had an expert in the God Sovereign realm.

The Sura family had developed themselves in the God and Demon Kingdom less than a hundred years, so there were no experts in the God Sovereign realm in their family now. If any, that one only existed long long time ago. Lots of the experts of the Sura family died in the Great War between the Gods and Demons which broke out tens of thousands of years ago. Due to that reason, the Sura family had chosen to develop in the Netherworld in order to keep the last bit of bloodline they had.

Although they had managed to save their bloodline, their cultivation level was also restricted. Moreover, the bloodline of the Sura family was a bit special, which made it a few times harder for them to cultivate than others. Therefore, no experts in the God Sovereign realm had shown up. As a result, the people of the Icy Valley had dared to challenge them.

That was exactly why Carendra wanted to raise his cultivation level and attended the match this time.

As long as he could get the Crystal Card which gave him the highest authority of the Green Nether Union, he would be able to enter the Golden Guard Group and save his family. No matter how arrogant the people of the Icy Valley were, they would never dare to become an enemy of the Golden Guards of the Netherworld. However, Carendra had to make sure that he was powerful enough to enter that Group.

Carendra never wanted to get something from the boy, and he just wanted the boy to shrink back from difficulties.

“Why didn’t you say it early? It’s so simple!” Feng Xi patted on his head and blurted out.

Carendra went stiff hearing that. Then he turned around and asked with an emotional fluctuation in his eyes for the first time, “What did you just say?”

As Feng Xi wanted to repeat his words, there was suddenly an indifferent voice echoing in his brain, which made him tremble in fear,

“Xi, come back!”
