47. Call Me Thief Master

Translator: Ning LL

Feng Xi couldn’t help but utter, “Huh?”

If he didn’t get it wrong, that figure in blue was a… person.

The two people inside the palace showed completely different looks on their faces when seeing Feng Xi who was standing by the door while looking to the inside with a curious look. That blue figure, as the dumb boy had guessed, was a person in deed. What was more, that was not an ordinary person and his purpose in coming was rather complicated.

Seeing Feng Xi running over rashly, King of the Netherworld never said a single word to criticize him. The King knew Feng Xi must have something to say according to the eager look on the boy’s face.

“Xi, come here!” There was a slight smile appearing on the indifferent face of the King all of a sudden.

Feng Xi came back to sense after hearing the King’s calling. Then he pouted right away.

“My leader, don’t call me Xi. It sounds so ordinary. I’m the one that’s going to be the greatest thief in the future. That name is not serious!”

Although he was complaining, he still ran toward the King vigorously.

The man beside the King was already terribly shocked. He stared at the King’s face the whole time, so the slight changes of the King’s look couldn’t escape from his eyes. Or say, the King didn’t mind if his look would be seen or not. That smile seemed so natural. Although it only lasted for a short moment, that man in blue was still overly amazed.

“If I don’t call you Xi, how do you want me to address you?” The King asked that.

“Call me Thief Master!” Feng Xi, with arms on his hip, raised his head and gave a loud laugh complacently.

Bang, bang, bang…

Bam, bam, bam…

God of Books and God of Bad Luck both fell from the sky because they had been shocked by Feng Xi’s words. They even failed to stay invisible anymore and landed on their heads straightly.

The man who was still in shock was luckier since he didn’t fall over himself but completely went stiff.

The last crashing sound was from the broken fruit plates which had been knocked over by the maids. It could be seen from their staggering steps that they were also in astonishment. They knelt down hastily before they could even clean up the fruit on the ground .

After the hall fell into silence, the atmosphere in the Quiet Stage Palace turned extremely awkward!

Feng Xi finally realized something wrong after he laughed proudly for a long while.

He looked around and saw those panic-stricken people. Then he couldn’t help but ask the King who was sitting on the seat, “My leader, what are they doing right now? Why are they acting so strangely?”

King of the Netherworld stayed calm. He only glanced at those people with an indifferent look and looked away at once. Then he looked at Feng Xi with a meaningful look, “Thief Master, do you know what kind of mistake you have made?”

The fact that the King followed the boy’s advice so easily made those people put on those dumb looks on their faces again, especially the man. It was so hard to free himself from the stiffness, and now he got rigid again after hearing the King’s words!

“Eh…” Feng Xi who was bending over the crystal desk suddenly stopped smiling. He felt that he was walking into a trap on his own initiative.

His leader called him Thief Master. That sounded awesome.

However, if only the King hadn’t spoken the next sentence which sounded like he was accusing Feng Xi of something.

Anyway, the King’s last words managed to make our Thief Master feel bad about himself. It sounded as if Feng Xi, the great Thief Master, was actually the one everyone could bully!

Feng Xi rolled his eyes quickly and then said to the King immediately, “My leader, you seem very busy now. I won’t bother you then. You should go ahead with your stuff. Hairless chicken is about to finish his seclusion, I’ll go pick it up.”

After saying that, he rushed out like a shooting arrow.

“Come back!” The King’s voice sounded calm but awe-inspiring. There was only his voice echoing in the Quiet Stage Palace.

Feng Xi who hadn’t run too far stopped right away. Then he turned around and said with a smile, “I didn’t mean to knock that old man down.”

“Ha!” God of Books and God of Bad Luck both burst into laughter.

Feng Xi glowered at those two Gods and continued to make an apologizing posture.

“Do you still remember the thing you promised me to do ten days ago?” King of the Netherworld ignored Feng Xi’s nonsense straight away as if he had already got used to it and got right to the point. Feng Xi got nervous instantly.

“Yes, I do!” Feng Xi, panicky and nervous, stood very straight with his hands clasped behind his back and admitted his mistake sincerely like a child.

However, King of the Netherworld had seen Feng Xi being like this more than once, so had God of Books and God of Bad Luck. So no one would fall for it.

“So, tell me what you have promised me.” The King tapped the crystal desk and asked.

The tapping sound made Feng Xi’s heart beat irregularly.

“I promise you I’ll try my best to cultivate and make progress every day. Since I need to prepare for the Large Contest which will take place in one hundred years, I have to work very, very hard. I won’t be lazy, or fond of sleep, food and play, or run about. In a word, I’m not allowed to do anything except for cultivating. Although I feel a life like this will kill me, I still have to bear all those hardships in order to become a great thief master!”

Feng Xi talked all this nonsense while counting the things he couldn’t do on his fingers. The only few words which still made sense were ‘work very hard’. The rest of his speech was merely nonsense. However, Feng Xi didn’t realize it at all.

“Then how would you explain the thing you did today?” The King meant the fact that Feng Xi couldn’t stand loneliness and had planned to run out of the palace.

Feng Xi reached out one of his fingers and giggled, “Today’s weather is great. I just wanted to enjoy the sunlight and go for a walk. Ha ha!”

God of Books couldn’t help but look at Feng Xi disdainfully, thinking, ‘How did he come up with such a lame excuse?’

“I’ll forgive you for this once, don’t make the same mistake again!” The King didn’t get to the bottom of this.

“Fine.” Feng Xi lowered his head in a low spirit. After he had known that his leader knew about every movement of him, he didn’t dare to act recklessly anymore even if he still had the thought of sneaking out.

As the man saw the King and Feng Xi talking with each other, he finally recovered from the rigid state and remembered his purpose in coming here. Then he got spirited right away and didn’t want to waste any time. He made an obeisance to the King and said, “Your Majesty, about what we have talked about just now, I think Young Master has just started cultivation and doesn’t have much experience. If we let him get into the Green Nether Hunting Group in a hurry, I’m afraid that he will be hurt. Please think twice, this really is not appropriate!”

His words made sense. This man who called Qing Mingyu was actually trying to implicate that Feng Xi was such a tender boy that he could only be protected all the time like the flower in greenhouse.

“I’ve already made up my mind, you go arrange it.” King of the Netherworld waved his hand and ended the short topic.

“Yes, Your Majesty!” The long speech which had been prepared by Qing Mingyu was of no use since he didn’t get a chance to speak. Seeing the King insisting on this, Qing Mingyu could only leave the palace with a depressed look.

“My leader, what are you talking about?” Feng Xi, having watched the man leave, asked that while climbing onto the crystal desk toward the King.

“When you reach the Heaven God realm, I’ll let you join the Green Nether Hunting Group. You’ll learn many useful things from them.” The King said that briefly.

“Green Nether Hunting Group? What is that?”

Green Nether Hunting Group was the most powerful fighting group of the Green Nether Guards, which meant this group was much stronger than those normal guard teams.

Each member of this group was an excellent expert who was more powerful than the normal guard and most of the members were in the ninth grade of the Heaven God realm. They were in charge of hunting instead of guarding. Their targets included human and demon beasts. As long as they were given a mission, they would finish it no matter what and didn’t need to mind any restrictions.

Qing Mingyu was the leader of the Green Nether Hunting Group who took charge of everything of the group. At present, this man was in the third grade of the God King realm.

This time King of the Netherworld had called him over for the matter of Feng Xi’s cultivation. After all, practical experience was more important than theoretical knowledge.

So the King planned to let Feng Xi join the Green Nether Hunting Group once the latter reached the Heaven God realm. First, this could help enrich Feng Xi’s knowledge and increase his experience. Second, joining the group could give some restraint to this naughty boy who loved to run about.

However, Feng Xi had his own understanding about this.

To be honest, it was impossible for him to stay in the palace for a hundred years. He couldn’t play hide and seek with Uncle White and his leader every day. What if he irritated the two men someday and was locked into a dark room?

Now was his chance.

Hearing that his leader wanted him to join the Green Nether Hunting Group, Feng Xi grinned from ear to ear at once since he could get out of the palace, although he didn’t know what kind of group that was at all.

“My leader, don’t worry. I’ll work very hard, I won’t embarrass you.”

As Feng Xi was saying that, he didn’t notice the sympathetic looks in the eyes of God of Books and God of Bad Luck.

Feng Xi was exactly the kind of person who would thank the people who betrayed him.

Question: Is it very easy for a man to get what he wants?

Answer: Definitely not!

The look on Feng Xi’s face which exposed his thought was reflected in the King’s eyes clearly.

‘Even if you have plans, you have to learn to hide your thoughts instead of showing them clearly on your face. The people with evil ideas would be able to see you through so easily!’ The King thought.

Then the King made a decision secretly.
