118. It Is the Truth!

Translator: Joy

Feng Xi looked over at them but didn’t recognize any of them. He turned and looked into the dark eyes of the King of the Netherworld and said while smiling: “Leader, what a coincidence!”

The King of the Netherworld said with no expression on his face: “Not a coincidence, I was waiting for you.”

Feng Xi’s jaw dropped, “You mean that I would appear here because that Space Talisman did…” He also didn’t know what but there was one thing for certain; the Space Talisman was the reason that he had landed on his leader’s lap.

However, why did this situation feel so weird?!

“Ah!!!” Feng Xi suddenly remembered something as his voice was suddenly the only one resonating through the Quiet Stage Palace. He felt the world was spinning. Under the gaze of the people around him, he grabbed the King’s sleeve and said in a fluster: “Then like me, will other people appear on your lap too?”

He could not accept that! His leader belonged to him only. How could others be the same as him!

The strangers who became petrified under Feng Xi’s glare couldn’t avoid the fate of being eroded away as the rocks were crushed into a pile of dust and blown away by the wind. As expected, they had begun to hallucinate and were even able to imagine this scene. It was too shocking!

The King of the Netherworld held his hand and didn’t even glance at the people who were completely stunned. He patted Feng Xi’s back while comforting the latter: “Don’t worry, only your Space Talisman would have this sort of effect. The other people will be sent to the Green Nether Union.”

“That’s a relief. You almost scared me to death.” Feng Xi breathed a sigh of relief. He had a hard time imagining that Carendra and others would have the same treatment and couldn’t accept that thought at all. After the two of them had confessed their true feelings to each other, Feng Xi already thought that the King of the Netherworld was his, so nobody else was allowed to touch him!

“How was the mission in the God and Demon Kingdom?” The King of the Netherworld swept his eyes across those people as he slightly raised his eyebrow and started chatting with Feng Xi as if nobody was present. However, since the boy had appeared here, the mission should’ve already been completed.

Due to the sudden arrival of the envoys from the Heaven World, the King of the Netherworld hadn’t used the Ice Mirror to observe Feng Xi’s progress. Then he asked thus.

Although it was likely that the King of the Netherworld had purposely ignored them, no one dared to speak. Under his gaze, each person tired hard to become as transparent as possible!

“With me the thief master there, of course we would succeed. I’ve already beautifully gotten rid of the man in the black cloak. He couldn’t even fend off one of my attacks. Afterwards, Little Glaze swallowed his soul, so if you want to find it, you’re going to have to pry the soul from its mouth!” Feng Xi patted his chest as he was extremely proud of what he had done.

The Azure Beast that he had described had already returned to the Ghost World long before he arrived. Regarding that black soul, once it was eaten, there was no way to spit it out again. As a result, it was directly handed over to Wolf Fang as it was originally his responsibility.

The King of the Netherworld slowly scanned over Feng Xi’s whole body and then looked at his extremely excited face and said, “Is that it?”

Feng Xi’s proud expression immediately vanished as he resentfully looked at the King of the Netherworld with his black eyes, “What do you mean by is that it? Do you think that I wasn’t impressive enough?”

The King of the Netherworld’s elegant lips curved up a little as he reached over to stroke Feng Xi’s delicate eyebrows, “But I just feel like Xi still has something that he wants to tell me.”

“Leader, you really have incredible foresight. You are even able to guess that I have more to say.” Feng Xi immediately followed up with flattery.

“If I don’t have foresight, how am I supposed to be your leader!” The King of the Netherworld’s response was out of character and before Feng Xi could respond, he continued: “You can tell me, what happened?”

“It’s just that there was somebody that ridiculed me and then challenged me to a life or death duel. However, I was careless and had killed him. Afterwards, his sect sent people to kill me. At that time, Carendra and his family might get involved. Originally, I had wanted to help, but they wouldn’t let me stay and forced me to come back. I feel like I caused this mess, but if I leave like this, it would be like I’m running away from the problem. Out of loyalty, shouldn’t I go solve this problem myself?” Feng Xi’s dejected tone suddenly changed and he seemed more cautious.

He didn’t notice that the area around the crystal desk had already been sealed off with a barrier by the King of the Netherworld. Other people could only see them but couldn’t hear what they were saying.

“You mean that you want to go back?” The King of the Netherworld smiled while his eyes remained cold as he directly exposed Feng Xi’s true intentions.

Feng Xi rubbed his nose as a little bit of embarrassment showed on his face. He then waved his hand, “I’m telling the truth!”

“From what I can tell, there’s still something in the God and Demon Kingdom that you want right?” The King of the Netherworld looked at him with fiery eyes as Feng Xi’s intentions were completely exposed.

No matter how hard he tried to hide them, he was still seen through. Feng Xi suddenly didn’t have the patience to fight anymore. He straightened up, put his hands on his hips and said bluntly: “Ok ok, I will be serious. Since Leader has already guessed it, then I wouldn’t beat around the bush. It’s you that wanted to know, so afterwards you must let me go.”

Afterwards, Feng Xi recounted exactly what had happened in the northern territories. Although the details were a jumbled mess, the King of the Netherworld used his knowledge to piece together the information. After he had assembled it all, the final result was: His darling was extremely interested in the ore veins. If the veins on the Green Grass Mountains hadn’t been completely mined, then the boy would’ve gone to pillage it himself!

“Leader, are there any Demon Beast eggs for the Crystal Mouse at the Worshipping Altar?”

Feng Xi saw that the Leader hadn’t said anything, so he shifted his attention to the Demon Beast egg again. If he could have a Crystal Mouse, then he could easily get his hands on those ore veins because it would be like having a mobile treasury. For a great thief, this was one of his goals. He wanted all the treasures of the world to fill his pocket!

“A Crystal Mouse egg… I don’t think there is one.” The King of the Netherworld lightly laughed.

How could he not see the boy’s obvious intentions? Or else why would he especially emphasize ‘Crystal Mouse’ when he spoke?

Feng Xi sighed helplessly. If the Leader didn’t have one, then all hope would be shattered, and his mobile treasury would just be a dream!

The King of the Netherworld glanced at the people outside of the barrier and then looked down at the fluffy head that was buried in his arms. He reached out to touch it and the corners of his lips curled up: “There isn’t a Demon Beast egg but there is a mature Crystal Mouse.”

“Really?”

The fluffy head of hair abruptly lifted, and the boy’s large eyes were bright with excitement like two glistening gems. Saliva was almost about to drip out of his mouth as if he was a glutinous Taotie (T/N Taotie is a creature from Chinese mythology that was known to be glutinous. Since it liked to eat and drink a lot, it often appeared on cauldrons in ancient China.) In reality, he was really a money-loving small cat that used its clawless paws to scratch the King of the Netherworld, making the latter’s heart feel somewhat itchy.

“When have I ever lied to you?” The King of the Netherworld helped him sit up properly and continued: “But not right now. Once the current problem has been resolved, I’ll give you the Crystal Mouse. Let’s solve their problem right now.”

The King of the Netherworld waved his hand and the barrier was lifted. He coldly looked over at the people who seemed to suffocate a little under his gaze and was again expressionless and indifferent.

Due to his own affairs, he had totally ignored them before but now Feng Xi finally noticed them.

“Leader, who are they?” Feng Xi asked curiously while snuffling.

“Just a bunch of uninteresting people!” The King of the Netherworld responded.

“Oh, since they are not important, why don’t you make them go back? But who are they really?” Feng Xi scanned them from top to bottom again and said: “I don’t think I’ve ever seen people like them before.”

They were each wrapped completely in a white mantle with only their heads sticking out which made it seem like they were a group of people getting ready to hold a ceremony. The person leading them was an old man with a beard that resembled that of a goat and he did not seem as nervous as others. Although he seemed calm, he also looked a bit helpless, as if there was a huge problem looming over him.

“They are envoys from the Heaven World.” The King of the Netherworld said lightly, not even sparing them a glance.

The old man couldn’t hold it back and opened his mouth to speak. As he stepped forward, he pulled out an invitation card that was engraved with gold and presented it forward, “Your Majesty, this is the invitation that Princess Tianhua has ordered to be delivered to you. In a hundred days, it will be Princess Tianhua’s one hundredth birthday. Lord Tianzun and Princess Tianhua hope that you can find time to attend. I hope that Your Majesty could be present!”

The old man thought that he would have to hold the invitation until his arms went numb.

In his heart, he didn’t have any hope that the King would agree because at this time every year, they would come to deliver an invitation but not once were they able to get an audience with the King of the Netherworld. This was because most of the time, they would be rejected before they entered the front door. Although they were lucky this time and were able to get an audience with the King, seeing the current situation, it seemed that there was still no hope!

However, the old man remembered what Princess Tianhua had ordered him to do and couldn’t help but get a headache.

In the previous years, Princess Tianhua could remain calm. Even if the King of the Netherworld didn’t attend her birthday celebration, she would at most angrily complain a few times. However, this time was not the same. Due to this rumor, Princess Tianhua couldn’t wait anymore and desperately wanted to confirm it. As a result, before he left, he was told over and over again that he must get the King of the Netherworld to agree to go to her birthday celebration before he could go back. If he couldn’t get confirmation, then she told him that he didn’t need to drag his old body back.

To serve such a willful princess really gave the old man a headache!

This task was just to torment his aging body!

In all honesty, the old man originally didn’t believe this rumor and he wasn’t alone.  All the people in the Heaven World suspected that the King of the Netherworld purposely created this rumor so Princess Tianhua would give up on him. Since Princess Tianhua’s one hundredth birthday was coming up, it would be the most important time in her life, which was why they thought that way.

However, when the boy in red suddenly appeared, they were scared out of their wits. Without hesitation, the boy in red sat… sat on the King of the Netherworld’s lap and the King even naturally hugged the boy in red. The scene was so harmonious that it was as if they were born to be a pair!

Now, they could only believe it because seeing was more convincing than anything else!

Just when the old man was ill at ease and thought that he would fail his task again, his hands suddenly felt light. The invitation… was taken by the boy in red who had suddenly appeared in front of him…
