65 – Hell Lord (1)

A few years ago, there was a program that took the country by storm. It was a TV show that brought together former special forces members and competed against each other. There was a time when I asked which training was the most difficult among the simple corners.

At that time, the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force all kissed each other and said, Hell Lord.

Me too.

I fell into a snowy mountain with my classmates and starved without anything to eat. In the middle of the summer when the scorching sun was shining, he practiced nightless training without being able to sleep.

How hell it was back then. Even I, who don’t believe in God, would never want to go there, even if I believed in religion, if Hell was a similar environment.

Still, when I was commissioned after receiving all of that f*cking education, I thought at least I wouldn’t do this type of training for the rest of my life…….

f*ck it, never thought I’d experience it again in the world of Hearts of General.

“Mo, is everyone okay? Is there anything wrong with the body?”

“Uh, fishing, nothing.”

Every time I opened my mouth, white steam blew in. Spring is all over, and even though the sun is shining brightly in summer, the cold bites the skin.

Byaltok, the northernmost region of Ukraine, bordering Chernaos, where the 3rd Magic Battalion is located.

It’s a cold climate in the northern hemisphere, but we were in the middle of the Kalpas Mountains, the most rugged terrain among them.

“If you think hypothermia is coming, tell them to take shelter deep in the cave and raise their body temperature. Keep in mind, you can use magic, but it’s never detected, whoa…… No, no.”

“Ah, I get it Dada…… I will tell the soldiers that.”

Rumia’s teeth snapped together. It was a very physiological phenomenon. I feel the cold even though I’m wrapped up in warm clothes. Because Lumia, a red mage, doesn’t have cold resistance.

“I will go check the 1st and 2nd platoons deployed downstairs. How is the Roxanna Quartermaster?”

“I am all right, company commander. You don’t have to worry too much.”

From noble mtl dot com

The person who was unexpectedly in good condition was Roxanna. Since her heart is the magic core, mana is always flowing through her body, so she seems to have a constitution that doesn’t feel the cold very much.

“There are times when this kind of body is helpful.”

“That sounds like good news.”

I stood up and said. The platoon currently resting inside the cave is Sergeant Ervin Ruth’s 3rd Platoon.

The remaining three platoons are deployed to the south, west, and east of the cave, respectively.

I also had enough rest, so I had to go around each platoon to figure out the current situation of each platoon in advance and devise a strategy.

The goal of this training is literally survival.

All I had to do was drop it on a snowy mountain with no connection and survive for a total of 72 hours without any external support or supplies. It looks easy in some ways, but the reality is different.

Because the conditions for survival included not being caught by the battalion commander and chief of staff.

You shouldn’t light a fire easily. Using magic to increase body temperature and hunting wild animals had to be carried out very carefully. For whatever reason, the moment they were detected by Chief of Staff Joseph and Battalion Commander Sony, who were patrolling while using magic, all sorts of magic immediately poured out.

If that happened, they would have to abandon their position immediately and move by force.

Right now, the top priority was not to use magic as much as possible.

Anyway, it was so cold last night that Bell Meyer was tracked down while trying to light a fire with magic, and there was a lot of chaos.

That’s how I got out of the cave and headed east, where the 1st Platoon was deploying. A restrained voice came from not far away.

“Stop stop stop, Griffin!!”

“Phoenix.”

There was no talk of an infiltration team, but if it was Sonny Zeppelin, the possibility of infiltrating an infiltration team would be sufficient. In preparation for that, it was the password code assigned to the company itself.

“Who are you?”

“Commander of the 1st company.”

“What is your business?”

“Inspection of small units during training.”

“Your identity has been verified.”

Suddenly, a soldier in a white winter coat stood up from the front. He was stuffed with leaves in his thick winter clothes.

“…… What is that?”

“The platoon commander said it would be a little less cold if we did this.”

Is it acting as a kind of insulation? Not bad for a stopgap.

“By the way, where is Platoon Commander Claude?”

“You are scouting the area with Sergeant Hamel.”

“What about the other troops?”

“Depending on the arrangement, they are spread out in groups of two.”

When I turned my gaze to the soldier’s words, I could see that another person was pointing a gun at me not far away. I couldn’t find it because I was attracted to one person.

Even though currently only blank ammunition is issued for safety reasons.

If this was a real battle, not training, the thought of a weapon with a real bullet pointed at me gave me a creepy feeling.

Anyway, the alert is certain.

In this world where the concept of magic has become commonplace, there have been enough instances of disturbance using hallucination magic or potions.

Claude was fully prepared for such a situation.

“There is no problem here. Anyone complaining of injuries or abnormalities?”

“No. The method the platoon commander told me is quite effective.”

“Yes…… ? I need to spread it to other platoons. When the platoon commander comes back, be sure to tell him that the company commander has come and gone.”

“Yes, I understand!”

It seemed that they were clearly instructed not to salute during training. Also Claude Lane. When you do it like a war hero, you do it right.

Considering that the 1st platoon is usually the most elite in a company, Claude’s platoon was enough to become the elite of our company.

It’s a satisfying feeling. I moved to the place where the next unit was.

The unit deployed to the south adjacent to the 1st Platoon was Bell Meyer’s 2nd Platoon.

Since no one would follow me even when I came closer, the alert state was a bit lacking compared to the 1st platoon.

This place wasn’t just unprepared. Because troops were digging bits and hiding everywhere.

To be precise, it was closer to an igloo than a beat, but it matched perfectly with the geographical element of snowy mountains.

“Bell Platoon Leader?”

“Ah, company commander!”

Bell Meyer pops out of one of the igloos. Unlike yesterday, when he greeted him shivering in the cold, his expression looked relatively comfortable.

“How are you? My idea If you stay inside, it’s easy to keep the temperature.”

“Excellent. But isn’t it easy to break down if it’s made only with snow?”

“Whoops, it can’t be. You haven’t forgotten what color mage I am, right?”

“Ah.”

I took a closer look at the igloo. No matter how hard the snow was made, it would break if pressure was applied, but the surface and inside of the igloo were frozen solid.

A true first-class blue mage.

Utilizing her special skill, she created water with a very small amount of mana to go undetected, and made ice to support the outer and inner surfaces.

“This is a perfect reconnaissance position. However, enemies approaching from the rear cannot be detected, so it is better to place troops to watch the rear.”

“Ah…… ! I didn’t think of that…… !”

“It’s okay. We still have one more day left to hold on to. When the troops are reorganized later, I ask that other regions build similar positions.”

“Leave it alone!”

Bell Meyer laughed and shrugged her shoulders.

Bell’s condition, which was her most worrying, was honestly not bad, as she thought that the extreme stress and cold might have triggered her memory loss again.

First of all, the 2nd platoon is not a big problem.

‘The last thing left is the 4th Platoon… …. It’s a bit ambiguous.’

Unlike other platoons led by their own leadership, Sergeant Hilton Kalia, a new face, lacked charisma than I thought.

It’s a shame that he doesn’t have a bad relationship with the platoon members, but if the troops were a little rougher, Hilton’s platoon commander wouldn’t have been able to easily take control of the platoon.

And the absence of such leadership is maximized in extreme situations like this.

The 4th Platoon’s garrison camp approached with a little worry.

Even though they approached close enough, unlike the 1st Platoon, which immediately jumped out, no voice could be heard.

‘What is it?’

That said, there is nothing unreasonable about digging trenches and beating like the 2nd platoon.

The moment you intuit that something is wrong.

Bang─!!!!

The gunshot hitting the eardrum echoed across the snowy mountain.

“Oh sh*t…… !!”

My body moved before my head. I started to run through the deep snow in pursuit of the source of the sound.

Bang! Bang!!!

Additional gunshots heard.

It’s not just one shot, it’s multiple shots. That meant it wasn’t an accident. What? What’s going on?

It could have been a counterforce. That would be better Anyway, Hilton’s 4th Platoon means that the enemy is detected early and responds.

But what if that’s not the case? Whatever happened, it was the worst. No matter how blank it was, the sound was so loud that it resonated throughout the snowy mountain, so Chief of Staff Joseph or Sonny Zeppelin might have already detected its location.

“Platoon Leader Hilton!!! 4Th Platoon!!”

“…… Sergeant Major!!! The company commander is here!”

As if my voice had finally reached me, a soldier shouted in a bright color not far away.

The faces of the soldiers who had been spreading all turned toward me at once, and I could see a huge figure shimmering beyond them.

The first thing I saw was a ball of hair that covered my entire body in pure white. And then there are two thick legs that stand on the ground.

Just by looking at it, it could be at least 3m tall, and about twice as wide as a bear.

And it was Platoon Commander Hilton who stood face to face with the furry giant.

“Middle, company captain, I am!!!”

A native creature native to Snow Mountain and a Tier 2 beast.

It was a Yeti.
