59 – Call from the Center (1)

The busiest times for the Personnel Command of the Ukrnian Army are February, June and September.

February is the time when graduates of military academies and other officers and noncommissioned officers are first seen. Adjust personnel to suit the corps and headquarters in each field, and supply troops according to disease and demand.

June is the month in which the transfer of existing noncommissioned officers and officers is determined. From headquarters to field units, from field units to headquarters. After conducting a preliminary investigation on how long you will be working in the unit and what position you want, the unit is reorganized in a fair manner.

September is the month when promotions are decided. It is a month in which all troops waiting for promotion in the Ukrnian Army, from junior soldiers to generals, except for special promotions, are promoted at once. Existing human lists must be extensively revised, and official letters must be sent to prevent confusion between units.

Since there are such big-events every three months, in fact, the Ukrnian Personnel Headquarters had no choice but to die until October, when all work was completed.

And if you ask me to decide the most f*cked up and intense period of those events…….

Nine out of ten Ukrnian personnel headquarters will answer June.

“f*ck.”

The first deputy head of the Personnel Management Office, Lieutenant Colonel Raviette, was the same. The season of early summer, when the temperature gradually rises after spring, when the fresh wind blows.

That meant that the lieutenant colonel’s work would increase like crazy.

It is another morning to greet after barely getting off work after two nights of sleep. The issue of changing the position of the non-commissioned officer given to the 1st department was dealt with, but this was still new blood.

It was because most of the noncommissioned officers stayed in one unit for a long time, and there were no major changes in position.

Still, I stayed up all night for two days.

Now was the time to revise the officers’ organization, so it was only now that we could say that the ‘Gate of Hell’ had opened.

“Chief Raviette, here is coffee.”

“Oh thank you.”

Still, it was fortunate that the subordinates were well taken care of. Deputy La Viette smiled lightly as he sipped the coffee handed to him by his noncommissioned officer.

“How many officers do we need to deal with urgently today?”

“32 People.”

“You are more enemy than you think. Have you collected all the application documents for which unit you want to be in?”

“Yes, you don’t have to worry about that…… I have one business that needs to be dealt with more quickly than that.”

“Ha.”

The first deputy general manager sighed deeply.

It’s an agenda that needs to be dealt with quickly. Was that why the expression of the subordinate sergeants was that of a pooping dog?

There was nothing Laviette hated as much as something that came out of nowhere. His face, which had been mild until just a few seconds ago, was distorted in an instant.

“Where did you come down from?”

Anyway, it must be a request from a department commander directly under the same headquarters, or a division commander or corps commander belonging to the frontline corps.

Have the damn field officers gone out too long and hardened their heads?

In this way, it was best to ignore the requests that came up without knowing the procedure.

Because to act like that in a particularly busy time means that they are disparaging the personnel headquarters’s work itself.

However, the reaction of his men is a bit strange.

Normally, they would have been chewing and swearing, but now they are keeping their mouths shut like mutes who have eaten honey.

“What the hell is that?”

Lieutenant Colonel Raviette snatched away the documents his subordinate had. It was about eight pages long, and the first five pages were personal statements.

“Five at the same time? What are you thinking?”

“…… The lieutenant colonel probably knows one of them.”

The colonel narrowed his eyes and read his papers slowly.

My position is in the Sorcerer Division. It belongs to the 8th Battalion of the Special Response Brigade under the direct control of the Central Corps from the 3rd Magical Battalion under the direct control of the Northern Corps.

‘The Special Response Brigade is a troubling unit these days.’

It was established at the beginning of this year, but because it was suffering from chronic manpower shortage, it was attracting a considerable number of noncommissioned officers and officers.

Is the troop making unreasonable demands again this time?

“Ah, if Enoch Levandel, isn’t he the famous lieutenant? I heard that I was given a special promotion after one month of appointment…….”

“Yes, that is correct.”

“That’s right, this guy can’t be in the same unit as he used to be.”

From noble mtl dot com

The culture of riders was a deeply rooted tradition in the Ukrnian army. Since a second lieutenant appeared who was directly against that culture, it was natural that he could not live in the existing unit.

“But…… Wait for a sec.”

As the lieutenant colonel flipped through the papers, he couldn’t help but notice a strong sense of incongruity.

“Are they all the same?”

“That’s the problem. Apparently, the affiliations of the entire platoon are changing.”

“You’re crazy.”

No matter how severe the manpower shortage is, this is too much. La Viette couldn’t help but tossed his paper away.

“Director!”

“I don’t deal with things like this. Give me any excuse and just ignore it. Apply through formal procedures.”

If the opponent is reckless, this side has no choice but to respond recklessly.

“And the 8th Battalion of the Special Response Brigade? This is a unit that doesn’t even exist. How can you put people in a unit that doesn’t exist? Since the foundation isn’t there, they tell me to revise it from the beginning.”

The rank of lieutenant colonel could never be said to be a high rank, but if it was the deputy chief of the Army Personnel Command, the story would be different.

At least from a practical point of view, Lieutenant Colonel Raviette’s authority was stronger even if he brought in the corps commander, unless he was his direct superior, the head of personnel management or the commander.

No matter how famous the great mage Sonny Zeppelin is, how many conveniences have he provided so far?

“Chief…… It’s not a problem that can be solved that way. He, could you please look at the name of the requester?”

The noncommissioned officer who brought coffee to Colonel Laviette’s sudden action hurriedly picked up the papers again and said.

“Requester?”

Soon, the lieutenant colonel’s eyes light up after confirming what his subordinate said.

‘This letter is an edict from Prince Orlando Luz. The recipient, the 1st deputy head of the personnel management department, and the officials of the relevant department must maintain security. Secrecy.’

The seal stamped there was, without a doubt, the royal family’s.

The month of June, which seemed unlikely to come, has arrived. The trees that had bloomed in full bloom had long since changed into green clothes, and the rather cool wind was now mixed with the sweltering heat.

‘Now this damn battalion is over.’

Enoch thought as he looked at the scenery beyond the window. The accommodation environment, which was extremely poor when I first came, has become much better thanks to Debra Bennett’s extensive renovation.

First of all, I liked the fact that there was a window. Before that, the atmosphere was like a solitary confinement because it was completely closed.

I’m sure there are only a few days left to spend in the room I’ve become accustomed to.

‘It’s surprisingly refreshing. It reminds me of the feeling when I switched to field battles in the past.’

I didn’t want to leave, but it was the exact opposite of the time when I was forced to leave, but I couldn’t help but feel like I was in a good mood.

Reminiscing about the past like that, Enoch was immersed in memories.

Tick-tock, someone knocked on the door outside the door. Voice that followed.

“Platoon Leader Enoch, this is Lumia.”

“Come in.”

Soon a woman with her beautiful silver hair in a ponytail entered the room. In her arms was a brown paper envelope.

“This is the document you will be processing today.”

This place was also being used as Enoch’s private quarters and platoon leader’s office, so all simple paperwork was handled here.

“hahahaha, it might be the last document. Where is the sender from?”

“…… Personnel headquarters.”

“Ah, that was really the last document.”

Enoch answered with a bitter joke. Has it finally come? This must have been why Rumia’s voice felt strangely heavy.

“It would be selfish to ask you to stay with the unit now, right?”

“I don’t know, but I don’t think the personnel headquarters will listen to it easily.”

“But…… I will be able to see you someday.”

“Sure, if you want to see me like that, why don’t you apply for Sergeant Lumia to join our unit next time you change your position?”

“At that time, I might see you as the company commander.”

Originally, when there is a meeting, there is also a parting.

Still, when Enoch Levandel was in charge of this platoon for the first time, he thought that the fact that he kept all the promises he made to the battalion commander and platoon leader should be meaningful.

In the first four months since he was commissioned into the unit, Enoch’s 5th Platoon has undergone quite remarkable changes.

Rumia Bluet has somewhat overcome her trauma of using magic against her people.

Bell Meyer’s incidences of depression and dissociative memory loss were also markedly reduced. Even if she didn’t have Enoch now, he was able to overcome it on his own.

Roxanna Elim also moved all her belongings from the medical unit to this annex.

Her medical officer, Edward, himself said that Roxanna’s condition had stabilized, so she wouldn’t have to worry for a while.

Actually, since the last platoon evaluation, Roxanna’s skills have been steadily improving.

And last.

Claude Lane.

The frequency of her bumping into Sergeant Bell, who seemed like her nemesis, has also decreased significantly, and recently, complaints from other executives are rare.

Recently, rather than drinking all night, it seems that he mainly works out. The unkind and intimidating war hero he had met her for the first time was gradually fading.

In conclusion, the 5th Platoon has now succeeded in completely melting into the 3rd Battalion.

From now on, instead of relying on outsiders, the platoon members should start pioneering themselves.

Enoch calmly removed the seal from the envelope and opened his mouth to Rumia.

“Thank you so much for protecting the platoon and supporting me. It was a lot of trouble.”

“Platoon commander… ….”

That was all he could say. He couldn’t say anything irresponsible about going with me or staying here.

“Rumia is a strong person. Even without me, she will be able to do just fine.”

But Rumia didn’t answer. She is forcibly holding back her feelings.

Kkiik─ Kung.

The door through which she came in was quietly closed. Then she just stood there, leaning in front of him, looking with her quivering eyes at her own platoon leader.

Of course, since Rumia had become like this, she had no intention of backing down.

In most cases, after receiving a personnel order, they moved out three days later.

Considering the interview with the battalion commander and the other officers scheduled before leaving her battalion, the moment she could practically meet Enoch alone would be over.

Then she can bring out the feelings she’s been keeping deep in her heart.

“So, platoon commander…… ! I have something to tell you.”

Rumia closed her eyes tightly. Let’s end what she’s already done!

“As the platoon commander just said…… I will work harder in the future, and someday I will definitely go see the platoon commander again!”

The existence of Enoch Levandel had already grown too big in Rumia Blue’s life.

No matter what happens, I will definitely stand by the platoon commander’s side again. That was Rumia’s attitude.

There was no particular reason. Because i came to like it A person came to like a person, so what grandiose reason would be needed?

In the life of Rumia, who has lived her whole life with misfortune, for the first time in her life, she has a bond that she wants to win with her own hands.

Yes, Rumia was confessing right now.

“So…… Therefore…… ! Until then never…… !”

“Wait a minute, Rumia.”

Enoch’s voice cut off her words as she poured out her rapid-fire cannon. When Rumia opened her closed eyes, Enoch’s expression was distorted as if it were ridiculous.

Kung. Rumia’s heart sinks hard at her cruel response. She tried to erase her answer in a trembling voice.

“Ah… …. Oh no…… No. Sorry…….”

“Rumia!”

“Yes? Yes, sorry…… I’m too presumptuous…….”

“I don’t think that’s necessary. Look at this.”

Fluttering, a white sheet of paper fluttered in front of her eyes. Although her vision was blurry from the tears that had risen to her limit, Rumia still struggled to read her handwriting.

“Eh…… ?”

It didn’t take long for stupid sounds to come out of her mouth.

[Emergency Personnel Order to Transfer Platoon]

[Transfer Target: All members of the 5th Platoon]

“Please gather the platoon members right now.”

This was a result that neither Rumia nor Enoch Levandel expected at all.
