Chapter 639: Max vs Freya

"Who are you?" Wilson looked at the unknown girl with a frown. He wasn't going to let his guard down in front of people that he didn't know about.

"Can't you feel it?" Caira asked Wilson with a smile on her face.

Wilson frowned. He didn't understand what she meant by that. But, it took him only a couple of seconds to realise it.

He could feel a strange sense of connection with her. It was the same thing that he felt with Lear and the other members of the group. Though it was even fainter in her case.

"It seems you finally got it," She smiled before turning around and leaving her back to him. That surely was more than enough to convince Wilson that she wasn't here with bad intentions.

"You are a lightning user as well, right? Let me show you how to use that spell that you were trying to use earlier." Caira suddenly raised her hand, and the lightning busted out of her body and shot up towards the sky.

She seemed to have spotted some flaw in Wilson's spell, and was now taking her time to show him how it was actually done.

She sure wasn't weak as Max had thought her to be.

"Thunder Field!"

"Crackle!"

Lightning immediately came down from the sky like rainfall and crashed with a thunderous boom breaking into tiny threads of current roaming all around the ground creating a field of lighting.

One of the enemy in front had been unlucky and was directly fried under the lightning while the rest escaped with minor injuries.

"Attack her!!"

The people around immediately charged forward with a yell, and attacked her.

But, Caira stayed calm as she manipulated the lightning field and stopped all the attacks around.

These immediately made the people in front frown.

"Surround her!!" One of them yelled.

"It's time to end this," Caira smiled as her aura began to climb and immediately hit the peak of Expert Tier.

Her hair began to flutter as the lightning began to coil around her.

Wilson stared at her as he waved his hand, and calmly blocked all the lightning coming towards him. It certainly was weak towards his end as the attack wasn't directed at him.

'She is good,' Wilson muttered inwardly. Her control of energy was indeed good. She certainly was doing it very well, and in a much more efficient manner than him.

Caira's eyes suddenly began to flash with bright light and the next instant, the lightning field rushed towards her.

"Whoosh!"

A terrifying pressure began to be built around Caira and the people around immediately became tensed and some even stopped in fear, contemplating whether to go ahead or run away.

But, it was too late..

Caira's body shined with a blind light of the thunder, and a thunderclap resounded in the vicinity as she exploded with all compressed amount of lightning.

Wilson immediately brought all his mana out and put up a barrier to defend himself and Lesia behind.

Even though she hadn't purposefully aimed for him, just being in the vicinity would probably result in more than a scratch with all the lightning flying around.

When the blinding light disappeared, all of the men were down with charred bodies. It was unknown whether they were dead or alive.

Caira sighed in relief with sweat sliding down her chin. It was obvious that it wasn't as easy as she made it look, the attack had definitely cost her a lot.

"Is she fine?" Caira walked upto Wilson before giving Lesia a look and taking her over.

"There doesn't seem to be any major problem for now," Wilson muttered.

At this moment, lighting flashed and a figure appeared in front of them.

It was Roman.

"Nicely done kids," He said with a laugh. He had been watching the whole thing after arriving a minute or so ago.

"And, you surely have improved, Caira." He looked at the girl with a smile. He was indeed a bit surprised to see her here. But, it wasn't time to be interrogating people.

At this moment, another figure came flying through the air landing right in front of the group.

It was Lear.

"Mom!" He immediately rushed up to Lesia with a concerned look on his face.

"Don't worry, she isn't in any serious condition." Caira assured him.

"Let's go, I will escort you kids to safety." Roman suddenly said as he waved his hand and the group immediately disappeared from the ground.

...

Warehouse Yard, Trinity.

Max and Freya stood against each other in a face off. None of them were willing to accept others' words and neither were they willing to back down.

Freya had already transformed into her Beastman form.

"You leave me no choice," She muttered in a serious tone, and then with a flap of her wings immediately shot towards Max.

Max on the other hand flapped his wings and shot forwards as well.

Just as the two of them were about to clash, Max used the power of his domain and immediately sealed all energy around Freya.

This definitely came as a surprise to her and her powers weakened.

"Bang!"

The back of Max's spear landed right on her abdomen and her face contorted in pain.

But, it wasn't the end.

Max pushed his spear before moving it up into an arc, sending her flying into the air.

He then flapped his wings and shot into the sky as flames engulfed his body forming the shape of a phoenix.

"Scree!!!!"

Frey gritted her teeth and suppressed her pain as she tried to defend herself.

"Boom!"

Flames exploded like fireworks in the night sky once again as a figure came crashing down onto the ground.

"Bang!''

It was Freya.

Her scales were mutilated and she was badly burned at places. She was even bleeding from the corner of her mouth. But, she still refused to go down.

She slowly stabilized herself and raised her head up. Her eyes immediately widened as she saw the wide jaws of a water dragon coming crashing down on her from above.

"Roarrrr!!!!"

"Boom!"
