The Ancient Genes

Chapter 342: Request

Recycling District, Capital.

Lear and Wilson looked at each other and confirmed that it wasn't just an imagination.

"Well, I don't know when you boarded the bus….but I think it's better if we work on this before letting Max hold an orientation program for you…." Lear said with a calm look.

Wilson still didn't look at him, "Don't pull me back, if you can do so….I don't mind….if not, it's better for you to get going…."

He spoke as the bolts of lightning rose from his body charging ahead and crashing into the incoming Demonic Aura.

"Hmm...you underestimate me…" Lear said with confidence which crumbled the instant Wilson moved. He totally lost the sight of the guy clearly indicating the difference between them.

"Bang!"

"Crackle!"

Lear stood there watching the duo exchange moves feeling a bit overwhelmed. It seemed he had got lucky and had caught the guy off guard in the sewers.

"Anyway, I just don't have to get in his way…." Lear smiled after thinking a bit. This couldn't be any better place for him to fight.

With all this junk around, there sure would be quite a heavy amount of metal….

With that, Lear let out his elemental ability and decided to carefully back Wilson.

"Bang!"

Wilson's fist landed on Bayu's face. With the power up, Wilson had clearly gotten the upper hand.

"What's wrong now? You don't seem confident…." Wilson taunted.

"Is that so," Bayu said as he grabbed onto Wilson's arm. He was indeed severely lacking, but this one moment was all he needed. After this, he could easily escape. The other guy behind him was no threat to him, even after being weakened, he was confident of getting past him.

Wilson frowned as the demonic aura rushed towards Bayu's arm and it began to change shape.

Even though Bayu knew that it would pop like a balloon within a second or two, he would be easily able to tear Wilson's into half by then….

Wilson feeling the danger, formed his trident trying to fend. But the demonic aura rushed and pushed Wilson into a defensive stance.

Before Wilson could do anything, he noticed a huge shadow forming beneath and as he raised his head, he saw a giant fist formed from the scraps of metal raining down.

"Boom!"

Bayu was immediately crushed underneath the giant metal fist and Lear stood on top of it as he looked down on Wilson as if taunting him 'who's holding back whom?'

"Bang!"

The next instant, the metal fist just busted apart sending everything flying, Lear was no exception.

Bayu stood at the center of the explosion with his other hand missing as well. The demonic aura covered his wound and formed an artificial hand. But, it seemed that he could regenerate his body, otherwise he wouldn't be going popping it up that easily.

The expression on his face was nasty, he was getting cornered by two little kids just because of this weak little body.

"Which one is next? Your leg…" Wilson spoke as he moved.

Bayu frowned as he put up a fighting stance but Wilson's lightning easily broke through his arms made of demonic aura and reached him.

It was settled…

Lear didn't make any unnecessary move as he stood there and watched Wilson pummeling Bayu into the ground.

A few minutes passed…

'What the hell? Isn't he going to stop? He might kill him at this rate already…its better if we can get some information out of him...' Lear thought as he approached Wilson.

"Stop it, he is already unconscious….kill him won't do good.....maybe we could use him for some information…." Lear mumbled.

"Nope, he is faking it….I still need a few more punches….beside you sure about it, Max didn't seem to share the same thought....." Wilson replied and Bayu's faces twitched a bit.

But suddenly, Lear grabbed Wilson by his collar and pressed his feet as he busted out of the location.

"Bang!"

A hurricane suddenly descended from the sky, striking the very area where Wilson had been punching Bayu a moment ago.

The Land shook and everything nearby was sent flying away.

Lear formed a shield by placing junks of metal over each other trying to endure the storm and preventing any collision with everything flying around.

It lasted for a few seconds before disappearing like it never had happened….

Wilson shook Lear's hand off of his neck and got out of the covering and Lear followed shortly after.

A man stood at the place where the hurricane had struck. He was clearly holding Bayu by his waist in one of his hands as he stared at the two kids in front of him.

"Who did this?" the man asked.

Lear didn't reply, he knew that it seemed like a bad option.

"I did it."

But someone else was here with him who didn't think like him at all….

Wilson spoke without any hint of hesitation. It was the truth after all, besides even if there was a little chance, he was trying to avoid getting Lear caught up. He didn't know who Lear was but it seemed he had some connection with Max and the fact that he came looking for him in such a dangerous situation in itself was enough to put him in a good light.

There was still a matter of intuition that told Wilson he was r*scal but he put that aside for now.

The man didn't seem to be any further interested, he quietly raised his hand.

Lear immediately took action as he pulled everything he could trying to form a defense.  But it was a pipe dream if he thought for it to work.

A gust of wind blasted out of the man's palm. Both Lear and Wilson braced themselves for the impact.

"Clang!"

But much to their surprise the metal junk wall held on. Wilson looked at Lear with shock but Lear himself was in a state of shock, there wasn't anything he could do to explain it.

"Taking out on kids? The Great Storm Family surely has touched the bottom…"

As the voice rang, Lear's defensive wall began to glow with strange white runes….

'Formations?'

Lear and Wilson raised their head to look at the source of voice only to see the new visitor floating in the air looking down on the scene with a smile on his face.

….

On the other side a while ago...

'Where is this?'

Max looked around finding himself in a strange place….

"It is my world, the world I had lived in…"

Max turned his head and a fierce looked flashed past his eyes as the image of the person appeared in his eyes.

It was the old man, the Grand Elder he had fought a little while ago….

"Don't worry, I know the truth…..I have come to regret my actions…"

"Does it change anything?" Max asked with a rage in his eyes.

"No, it doesn't but I think I understand what's going on, I am glad to be able to do this….."

Max didn't reply, he knew a bit about it from what he had heard before losing consciousness.

"I want to request you something…." The old man suddenly spoke surprising Max.

"You still have the guts to say that…'' Max stared at the old man before sighing and further continuing.

"I would have never listened to you but considering what you did, I will at least hear you out….whether I accept it or not is another thing." Max replied after calming himself down. He couldn't ignore the fact that in the end he might have a chance of survival because this man had voluntarily stepped up…...but it still didn't change the fact that he was the one who caused it to begin with.

"Thank you, then shall we have a walk as we talk…." The old man said taking the lead and Max soon followed after.
