629 Hatching Stones

"So, which one do you want to select?"

After explaining the positives and negatives of the three beasts available in the Beast Ranch, Elder Obe asked about Leo's choice.

'Which one should I pick?'

Leo didn't know exactly what kind of dangers were lying ahead of him and he felt the three beasts were useful to him.

One is good for escaping with his flying speed whereas the other one could attack his opponent. As for the last one, it could stall for some time with its defence until the reinforcements came to save him.

"Elder Obe, is there a rule that the young one should pick only one egg from the Beast Ranch?"

After thinking for a moment, Leo asked Elder Obe a question, making Elder Obe raise his brows.

"Yes. Every family member who reaches the age of 10 can enter the Beast Ranch to pick one beast egg and they have to nurture it until the 'Awakening Ceremony' which is at the age of 15."

Elder Obe nodded his head and explained the reason behind the process, "During the 5 years, they could get the experience of nurturing a beast and the experience would be greatly helpful after they formed the contract with their first beast from the Beast Sanctuary."

"But what if I want the three eggs? Is there a way where I can get the three beast eggs?"

Leo had already guessed the reason why each family owns a Beast Ranch. So, he didn't think much about it; instead, he asked whether he could get all three types of beast eggs.

"Going by the rules, you can't."

Elder Obe's reply was instant as he continued, "However if you have enough contribution points, you can buy them."

"As for getting the contribution points is all about doing something useful for the family. It includes the normal chores like sweeping, cleaning…so on to increase the family's prestige. Each work done by a family member will be given some contribution points and depending on the difficulty of the work, the contribution points increase."

Elder Obe briefly explained the basic working of any family in Eldoria.

"Contribution points? Alright."

After listening to Elder Obe's words, Leo got some ideas in his head as he nodded his head in understanding.

"So, does that mean if I evolve my pet, it will be considered a contribution to the family, right?"

Since Leo was confident in getting the 'evolution details' with the help of his talent [Quasi Divine Knowledge], Leo wanted to know whether he could get some contribution points for it.

"Obviously, you can"

Elder Obe was surprised at Leo's thought process as he could guess what Leo was thinking in his head.

'Even though it will take a long time and very hard to evolve these beasts, I should not discourage him from the beginning itself.'

With that thought in mind, Elder Obe said, "If my guess is right, you will be selecting the Rockwing Butterfly, no?"

Among the three pets, the Rockwind Butterfly was the easiest one to evolve.

Since Elder Obe had already understood what Leo was thinking, he could tell that Leo would be selecting Rockwing Butterfly's egg.

"Yes."

Leo nodded his head and soon, Elder Obe guided him to the place where Rockwing Butterfly's eggs were stored.

"You can choose one of them and I will help you hatch it instantly."

Pointing at the row of greenish brown-coloured, Elder Obe asked Leo to select an egg.

"Okay"

Leo nodded his head and was about to select an egg when his eyes noticed something that made him shocked for a moment.

"T-these are…"

Leo saw some familiar black-coloured stones on the ground where eggs were stored as he stuttered in his words.

Soon, the shock turned into excitement.

"Elder Obe, what are these stones?"

Even though Leo already knew about the stones, he suppressed his excitement and asked Elder Obe about them.

Since they were lying on the ground in an orderly manner, Leo could tell that they were placed by someone and they might have something to do with hatching the beast eggs.

"They are called Hatching Stones. They provide the required energy for the pet inside the egg to grow and when they come into contact with the egg, the egg will hatch instantly."

Elder Obe explained about the black-coloured stones in the incubator room.

"Hatching Stones? Can I take some of these stones?"

Leo asked Elder Obe whether he could take them, making Elder Obe confused because other than hatching the eggs, these stones were practically useless.

"Sure"

Nevertheless, Elder Obe still gave Leo around 10 so-called Hatching Stones by taking them out of a storage ring that he was wearing.

"Thank you, Elder Obe."

After thanking Elder Obe, Leo hurriedly kept the stones inside his pocket and tightly held onto one of them.

'Swoosh'

Soon, Leo felt some energy enter his body and rushed into God Space before settling down there.

'These are indeed the Fragments of the God Stones.'

From their appearance, Leo was a little confident that they were the Fragments of the God Stones; however, when he felt God Energy inside his God Space, Leo confirmed that it was indeed a Fragment of the God Stones.

'However, why did I get such a pitiful amount of God Energy from a Fragment of God Stone.'

With that thought in mind, Leo held onto another Fragment of God Stone and received the same pitiful amount of God Energy.

'It looks like they are the weaker version of Fragments of the God Stones.'

After thinking for a moment, Leo came to the conclusion that they were low-level Fragments of God Stones and that even the low-level beasts didn't show much interest in eating them.

'No wonder, they are using them to hatch the eggs.'

Leo nodded his head and soon extracted the energy from all the low-level Fragments of the God Stones in his pocket.

'Swoosh'

After the extract, they turned into nothingness and disappeared without a trace.

"Leo, select the egg and I will help you hatch it."

Seeing that Leo was still looking at the eggs, Elder Obe urged him to select one.

"Elder Obe, I want this egg."

Leo randomly picked one egg and asked, "Can I use the Hatching Stone to hatch the egg?"
