Swarming The Gods

Chapter 5 - 5 the Swarm Hunts

Upon hearing those words, the weakest one quickly crawled towards the dagger, grabbed it with his remaining hand that was missing a few fingers, then plunged it into his ċhėst...

Then began the first infested cultivator...

--------------------

Upon plunging the dagger into his ċhėst, the cultivator was shrieking in pain and agony as he was being remade, his abilities would remain.

He would also have the traits of a zerg the sounds of his bones cracking and moving about as well as the sound of his flesh being torn apart and then mended together could be heard by the group.

However, his physical change was not what caused them to be silent.

it was the cultivation that he was emitting now he was bȧrėly an early elementary profound realm now he was quickly reaching a nascent profound realm, and it didn't seem to be stopping yet excitement filled the eyes of the cultivators.

As for why? The strength that's why...!

the weakest one grew over eight stages and is still going then why should they stop themselves from receiving this gift sure their appearance may change, however, will that matter if they reach a certain strength?

Thus the disciples began to clamor and ask no; they begged to receive the same gift as their fellow disciple received.

However, while they were distracted by their thoughts, the guide and two more disciples already accepted the "gift," and the allotted time for chances... sadly has passed!

so a cold voice poured the iced water onto their thoughts of advancement.

"mi~stre~ss, it look~s like the fool~s took your word~s for granted, s~hall I u~se them for more minion~s or do you wi~sh to u~se them for your army, milady?"

A massive beast that looked like a cross between a crab and a centipede with six large legs approached as its fang-filled mouth drooled at the sight of the defeated.

Now according to the conversation, just now they are either food or the rest of them will be forced to be used for something that they do not wish to experience...

Thus their frantic pleas for mercy began.

However, judging from the reaction they gave when they first saw her half of them aren't worth converting, which is why she gave them a solution...

----Alissa's pov----

The so-called weak ones and slaves are to step forth one particular girl caught my eye as she was giving death glares towards one of the men that came forth.... trying to escape and blend in...

It suddenly passed when I connected my mind with hers.

A few words entered her mind, which caused the girl to shiver in delight.

She unleashed an animal-like howl as she leaped at her target similar to that of a raging beast thirsting for food awaiting patiently for days to catch her prey unguarded then lastly taking its life finally.

Which was followed by sobs fear, then pain, then rage, begging, crying for help, and other random squeals.

However, in her case, she will savor tormenting this man as I caught a glimpse of the atrocities this pile of shit has done using his father's name as well as his sect's name.

This is why I changed my mind about converting the other guys that followed the man that is now wailing for release from his current.... predicament.

While she was doing that, I decided to deal with the others.

After we settled the spare sacks of meat, I stared at the girl that savored the amount of torment that she was able to bring upon the unlucky scoundrel that made her this way.

Then again, this is that kind of world where the strong decide the lives of the weak, and when you leave an opening well, they will use it to their advantage.

Then again I was wondering why I wasn't disgusted by this...

Was it due to knowing what needs to be done and not showing weakness as they call it here?

Or was it.

Due to the change of my race...?

I shake my head to release myself from these thoughts and sought for information from my new subjects as I have Blivet (a large devouring one) act as my throne and Bane (my hybrid infestor/swarm host) to tend to the meat sacks for more troops.

And as for the information that I received... it was frigging 18 years before a certain someone is born, and if that wasn't bad enough, it seems I am in the profound sky continent. Is this a blessing or a curse???

I would think to myself and say Fuck my life!!!

Why?

Because a few hundred kilometers guess what a particular arrogant lizard can fly to us?

So upon finding all this out, I immediately had my troops begin creating an underground base to hide in, one that only of our kind can reach...

Sadly, however, time was not on our side.

Due to our activities, it had attracted the beasts nearby, and my physique was making things worse.

As if sensing my unease and panic, a dignified voice mixed with clicking called out to me as if to reassure me.

"My queen, might I have the honor of leading some of the troops to cover your retreat?"

The large Devouring one that I christened as Blivet gave me a possible option, but that would mean that I MIGHT lose a good Warrior.

Blivet, on the other hand, proclaimed as pride filled his voice.

"There is nothing more significant than having a chance to fight for you! EVEN IF IT IS A LOSING BATTLE!!! I Fight for the SWARM!!!"

The other zergs ROARED in agreement as they had the mindset of themselves being expendable while their queen was not she was their leader, their hivemind!

While I originally wanted to reject it, I was sensing the stubborn nature of this throne of mine...

So I reluctantly agreed to this as I ordered the others to begin the excavation.

so that we may have a chance to grow stronger for our survival.

Thus I relayed my command!

"I will leave this fight to you! DO NOT fail me!"

Using the title's effects, I gave what strength that I could muster to Blivet, causing my cultivation to drop back to an elementary profound realm as he reached the peak of the nascent profound realm.

It wasn't much, but at least he will have a fighting chance.

The silly thing was he said a sentence that made me chuckle a bit.

"Power Overwhelming!"

So I left everything else to the others as I closed my eyes for some time.

------

Blivet called forth the zergs that he would need for this upcoming struggle while it was only one hundred; it was enough as he too could create more zerglings due to having a closer connection to the queen.

He was more familiar with controlling the troops than the others thus he took command.

He ordered lunar to take command of the drones and the rest of the zerglings as they all were on the verge of evolving again as for thane and Bane they will be the last line of defense for the queen and to ensure the new human hybrids do not betray and attack her while she was resting.

They may have joined the swarm, but he will not trust them until they have earned it!

They were lucky that the queen wanted to try something with them or he would've devoured them right now!

The large devouring one could only control up to 100 at this point, but if he manages to break through the strange shackle that is preventing him from getting stronger, he then will be able to add another 0 to how many he can command.

The horde of the beasts was still some distance away, and this was enough for him to make the proper ambush.

As long as he gets the 'resources' from the beast horde, the swarm will only emerge even stronger.

Thus his battle cry that spurred on every zergling under his command received a spike in adrenaline.

"FOR OUR QUEEN!!! FOR THE SWARM!!!"
