Summoning Total War

Chapter 36: Slaughter (Part 1)!

This is the end of spring and the beginning of summer, and the entire southern plains ushered in a week-long rainy season.

Time is advancing gently, the wheat in the field has germinated, and after this period of time has been settling and accumulating. The trade resources in Athens towns that have been recognized by the "Total War" auxiliary system and have been statistically listed are also listed. These developed trade resources have brought a steady stream of income to the towns and attracted aboriginal people from other cities in the southern plains to come to trade.

On the strategic map of the auxiliary system, there are four types of trade resources marked clearly within Murphy's territory, namely timber resources, coal resources, slave resources and wine resources.

These four trade resources made the port become prosperous all at once. In just one month, more and more ships entered and exited the port.

After getting the financial income, Murphy discovered that the largest trade income was not the jackal slave trade, but the coal and timber trade. These two trades account for almost half of the total urban income!

The logging plant has been expanded twice. Because of its proximity to the Karazhan Mountains, the quality of the wood produced in the territory is very good! In the past, it was also a large timber trading base in the southern plains. The mining of open-pit coal mines is not difficult. Because of the slave trade, Greek residents in the town have become slave merchants. Through other channels, they bought Murphy from the rear of the Southern Plains a group of Kobold slaves with a number of about 300 people and had been initially domesticated by slave merchants!

These kobold slaves, who were only about 1.2 meters tall, did not have much combat power. But the advantage is that they are cheap and hard-working (greedy for life, fear of death, lack of temper), and it is undoubtedly a very cost-effective investment for open-pit coal mining. In the cities and towns of Athens, the income from the open-pit mine alone now amounts to 1,200 silver coins per month, which is equivalent to the head tax for three full months in the previous territory!

The income of the entire territory is divided into three sections. The first is the poll tax, which is the most basic source of taxation. The second income is agricultural income. At present, agricultural income is not yet available. Now the main source of support for cities and towns is fishery income. The third income is trade income. This is the bulk, an important source of funds for urban development and the key to Murphy's vigorous development in the future!

For now, the total monthly income of the towns of Athens can now reach about 3,000 silver coins. In addition to maintaining the soldier's salary and the consumption of further building the territory, this income also allows Murphy to upgrade and replace the original equipment!

The construction of the blacksmith shop has been completed, and the further refinement of ironware is in progress.

According to the prompts given by the current auxiliary system data, it will take about a week before the army in the town can complete the weapon replacement.

More than a dozen newly trained blacksmiths are re-smelting the imperfect iron forged in the past, and are starting to build the first batch of half-length armor. The blueprints of this batch of half-length armor came from the fine iron half-length armor that the dwarves aided the human city-state and then was transferred to Murphy. Although the steel extraction technology is not up to the level of the dwarves, there is no problem in using existing materials for general imitation.

These simplified half-length armors were prepared by Murphy in advance to train the Greek heavy infantry.

Auxiliary system cannot replace reality after all!

Murphy had to plan for these material reserves.

  ----------------

Because the iron ore reached a trade with the southern plains and coupled with Mrs. Elizabeth's noble network, it is not a problem for the time being.

Regarding horses, there is really not enough in town now!

The original town reserve was about 80 horses. These horses were first recruited by Murphy to become the general guard. Later, another batch was consumed by promoting Hamilton to general. After Hamilton died in battle, his father became the new general, and the new general guard was formed again!

In this way, the horses that were originally reserved in the town are almost consumed.

This caused Murphy to find out that there were no horse resources in the town for recruitment after finishing the construction of the blacksmith's shop-the chariot of rolling sickle!

This is really a very bad question.

Fortunately, it is not too bad. Murphy learned from Mrs. Elizabeth that there is a vast basin on the other side of the territory, on the other side of the Nedoria River. In that piece of land called the Salma Basin, there are more than ten centaur tribes living! Most of the horses in the southern plains came from trade with these centaur tribes.

The only thing that is more difficult is that these centaur tribes are not very friendly to humans.

And if you want to reach a trade with them, you have to pass through an area called Barren Rock Heights, which is a diaspora of a lot of goblins.

Like the kobolds in the southern wilderness, there are a large number of goblin races scattered on the barren highlands like wild dogs.

The number of these goblin races ranges from five hundred to three thousand, and they attack all passing travelers who can overcome them. For a period of time, the goblin slave trade also emerged, but because of the lazy and inertia of this creature, it was not cost-effective for kobolds. Coupled with the relatively large number of goblin races, and the investment and harvest are disproportionate, this slave trade was quickly abandoned by the black market merchants!

In contrast, kobolds, creatures that are born to make holes, are more popular than goblins in many industries that require slaves, such as mining and digging.

   Market demand determines value!

Of course, goblins are much smarter than kobolds!

Some scholars have discovered that some smart goblins have understood some simple human languages through learning and imitation! Some scholars have even suggested that in the near future, this kind of creatures with not low intelligence and cunning nature will likely evolve into a new group of wisdom!

   All these are imaginary anthropologists.

The slave merchants would just sneer at this!

They only care about the gold coins in their pockets. As for slaves, it is better to be honest and obedient.

A slave, what does he want to be so smart?

   rebellious?

For now, the composition of slaves in the human city-state consists of three ethnic groups, kobolds, goblins and human slaves!

The last one is mostly composed of prisoners who do not die, soldiers who flee the battlefield, and bandits who run in the wilderness. Among them, the soldiers who flee from the battlefield are the most common, because according to the laws of the human city-states, the cowardly deserters have only two choices, hang or become a humble slave!

The only difference is that after soldiers become slaves, they have another chance to win courage and respect.

The human beings in this era have not completely corrupted, and the crisis of survival makes them actively seek the space for development on the mainland.

The law allows soldiers who flee to get a chance to prove their courage!

They can enter the arena ~www.readwn.com~ to become a gladiator.

proved himself to everyone in the battle between life and death, and proved that he has regained the courage he lost in the beginning!

There is a saying in the ancient East called-know your shame and then be brave!

And these people who have experienced the arena and survived are the most elite fighters of the entire human city!

They are—the fearless—the hand of slaughter—the Camona gladiators!

  ------------------

   at noon.

The busy crowd is resting. Women and children have already prepared a sumptuous and delicious lunch for them.

The rainy season for a week has made the roads muddy. Under the orders of the noble Governor, the residents of the entire town are repairing the roads and continue to widen and lengthen them to the original extent!

The prosperity of towns has brought hope to the people, and they are working hard towards the bright future.

There is food, and so does the house.

The Governor promised that all men who participated in the battle would be rewarded with land.

If you join the army, then the whole family can be exempted from labor!

  ………………

Murphy stood on the tower and patrolled his territory, with a smile on his face, that was a sense of accomplishment from the heart.

"Your Excellency! General Rio Dare is back!" The knight of the General Guard rode up to him. The knight's body was covered with mud, apparently he had been running around in heavy rain.

"Have you come back so soon?" Murphy smiled and turned over and jumped off the tower.

He has been waiting for Rio Dare’s news for three days!
