Disinfection Begins

Nasser, with a detachment of fully armed German engineers behind him, raided the royal castle with his guiding troops.

The wounded soldiers groaned and servants were shot dead.

He or she was clutching a few daggers, perhaps because they had tried to resist.

But they were no match for the Germans, who were fully armed against such puny weapons.

Saku, Saku──parin!

The smell of blood and burning household goods almost made Nasser gag but he silently made his way through the royal castle.

All around him, there were traces of destruction and not a trace of the glory that the kingdom once boasted.

“It smells terrible……”

The smell of blood, fire and something else.

This was the Royal Castle ──────.

It was a space that, in terms of status, Nasser would never step into, but he had no emotional attachment to it.

“──It’s just up ahead.”

A soldier pointed to where the rest of armies had set up an improvised position using chests of drawers, beds and other items as shields.

They were apparently covering the entrance to the top floor, and were barricaded in a semi-circle in front of the entrance to the gaping spiral staircase.

The soldiers were then repeatedly firing at the upper floor of the spiral staircase.

“『Please, take a look…』”

The 『Company Commander』 noticed Nasser’s approach and pointed his hand to end of the spiral staircase.

When Nasser turned his attention to the end of the spiral staircase, he found some soldiers lying in a heap in front of the staircase.

They were all dead in one way or another, and Nasser assumed that they tried to counter-attack but were gunned down. Their miscellaneous equipment made it clear at a glance that they had scraped together to make an assembled force.

“He’s at the top huh….?”

“『Probably……And there seems to be a significant number of soldiers lurking. Sporadic contact has been made, but all have been eliminated. The remaining enemies are probably upstairs.──It would be faster if we threw explosives at them, but …..』”

The 『Company Commander』 looked a little lost.

“You mean the top floor tower might collapse?”

“『Yes. The spiral staircase is tricky, but a steady sweep seems the way to go.』”

Nevertheless, the 『Company Commander』 commanded his troops with no sense of danger at all.

He then suggested a firm offensive.

“No, it’s good. Let’s settle it here……”

“『Ha!』”

Nasser looked away after the 『Company Commander』 gave him a salute and then pondered lightly.

‘If I can push him this far, I’ll do the rest.’

“──── flamethrower.”

Nasser borrowed a large flamethrower from the engineers who followed him. Together with the MG42, it was  a lot of weight, but if it burned ’em, it was a bonus.

“Then──── Let’s start disinfecting! The dirt in this kingdom!”

‘and the King needs it’

“Burnnnnnnnnn!!!!”

Kyubaaaaaa!!!!!

A long flame was produced from the nozzle and licked the spiral staircase.

A staircase with no escape route except for a small window for lighting. The flames ascended upwards.

“Gyaaaaaaaaaaaaa!” “Aa–Aaaa–AAaaaaa!!!”

A tremendous scream rang out, and castle soldiers tumbled down from the top of the spiral staircase.

There were several of them.

They must have been hiding in the middle of the spiral staircase, waiting for the Germans.

The right-hand winding staircase would have restricted the use of the dominant hand, as well as the range of the guns.

But not for the flamethrower.

Nasser only worried that the king would be burned as well but he thought that the king would probably just be rattling and shaking in his room at the far end.

“Burn, burn ohhhh!”

Nasser Virginia……Starting progress.

“『Covering!』”

Kyubaaaaaa!!!!!

Kyubaaaaaa!!!!!

The poor castle soldier caught in the flames screamed, but soon their throat burned and their screams were like that of a kitten.

“Geeaaaah ────aaaah …..”

Still, it was admirable that they had not let go of their sword, but they were now nothing but dead soldiers.

Pan, pan! The Germans followed from the rear to finish them off.

Nasser, however, was unconcerned about this, and only moved forward, overcoming the burnt-out castle soldiers.

The end of the siege.

They literally burned their hands until the very end.

“We’re almost there! I wonder how many metres of the kingdom are left!”

He threw down his flamethrower, which had run out of fuel, and started advancing with his MG42 machine gun.

“Come at me!!!”

Vuababababababababa!!

Vuababababababababa!!

They must have mistakenly thought that the attack had stopped because the flames had gone out. Some remaining soldiers who had sneaked out to check were then greeted by gunfire.

Vuababababababababa!!

Finally, the spiral staircase was reached.

Now there was only the King’s room.

On the top floor, there was only a corridor connecting the stairs to a room where the night watch soldiers waited and the king’s room.

The small rooms around there would be enclosed, even for women.

‘I don’t care about any of that stuff.’

“I’m going!!”

“Don’t run away! Fight to the bitter end!”

There were only a few castle soldiers who had piled up their household goods and built a last line of resistance barricade in front of their eyes.

There seemed to be no bow and arrow of any kind and it looked to be holed up with those who had verbally abused Nasser. But now they started begging for their lives.

‘Idiots. Protecting him is not worth it. Just die. You’re all together, too, you know!’

Vobababababababababababaababababababa!!!

“Hiiii!!!” “G–god!!!”

A barrage of Nasser’s angry shots slammed into the barricade, with the barrel of the gun flailing around in a continuous firefight, held back by his arm strength.

“Guaaaaaaaa!!!”

Nasser managed to kill some of them but some of the cowards laid down on the ground and let the shooting pass them by.

Then he ran out of ammunition.

“Chi, Give me that.”
