Chapter 28: The fifth hero’s resting place

“I’m a flat-chested with a body that can bend more than normal humans. You are the only one that showed me kindness after my parents passed away, and you’re not a person of this world. Do you still want me to be in your life?” Ester gazed at Vincent, intending to pick up any hesitation from his expression. However, she couldn’t see anything of this sort.

It seemed his words were as strong as his conviction; the truth from his lips seemed to be real as she realized with a pair of bright red cheeks. He was honest the whole time.

“I want your company, and Lupa wants too. She wants to become your sister, she said. But that’s for you to decide. So... do you want to become my retainer and live with us?” Vincent wanted to confirm before he could start the test.

Ester stayed silent for some time. Then she nodded with a smile accepting to become a part of them.

Vincent imagined for the test to start, soon a display window appeared in front of the two. A two-way soul bound contract was about to begin.

[Start [Blessed Retainer] test?]

[Agree] [Cancel]

.....

“Say agree, and the test will start. ” Vincent explained on how to proceed.

“Agree.” The two said in unison.

[[Blessed Retainer] test starting.]

[Checking seven deadly sins...]

A blinding green light suddenly encased Ester. The same as what happened to Lupa; however, the area around her neck shone brighter.

Ester floated as if the gravity was gone while her body shined in the darkness. Even the second time, it was a mesmerizing sight.

“I... my left hand feels like it’s burning. ” Ester said with a hint of pain in her voice.

“It’s ok. The pain from the mark imprint will only last a few seconds.” Vincent already knew from Lupa and the mark on her tongue.

Soon the test finished.

[Test passed.]

[Ester has passed the important factors.]

[Blessed retainer gained.]

Ester floated down, and her body stopped glowing. On her neck was no more the slave tattoo.

“The tattoo is gone. You’re not a slave anymore, but look at your hand.” Vincent informed as he saw Ester raise her left hand.

She could see the hero retainer mark on the back of her left hand. The location was visible and needed to be covered by a glove or a bandage.

“Thank you. ” Ester said with a warm smile.

It was mesmerizing as if a vivid dream. The darkness began fading and Ester as well. The soul domain dispersed, and their consciousness returned to the real world.

Soon Lupa could be seen. She was impatiently waiting for a good response while her gaze locked on Ester, who was floating and shining in mid-air.

“It’s a success. You have a new sister.” As Vincent said these words with a chuckle, Lupa rushed and licked his face in joy, happy for extra company and someone to compete against.
A few seconds later, Ester floated down on her feet. She felt unsteady from feeling a bit different and was about to fall. Soon two pairs of hands stopped her from falling.

Ester raised a smile as the two new people who became connected to her by a dangerous secret and that weren’t going to abandon her, caught her falling body.

“I have your back sister, hehe.” Lupa excitedly said while her tail waged along with her happy mood.

“Welcome to the team. Tomorrow we will need to leave, but first, we need to wash from the dried blood. Do we have enough water to clean ourselves?” Vincent didn’t think he could sleep with the bad smell their clothes had.

Ester raised a warm smile and patted Lupa on her head. Vincent noticed how she felt like a different person. One who looks like they found where they belong.

“Nearby is a small lake. In the middle is a large boulder surrounded by clean water. Some say the lake appeared after the fifth hero fought against a demonic beast.” Ester didn’t like going there, but because of Vincent, Lupa, and the Energetic buff, she felt like she could take on the world.

‘So this lake might be the reason why I arrived at this specific location. I need to see if I can find a clue.’

Vincent pondered while the reason for getting summoned to this location was made more evident.

“Ok, let’s go there. I want to see if there is a clue to go back to my world.” Vincent eagerly said as he was starting to become homesick. There were many stories that he didn’t finish and more still updating.

“What about us?” Lupa crossed her arms and puffed her cheeks. Ester nodded, agreeing with Lupa as she became a part of them. He wasn’t planning to leave two beauties, was he?

“Ahh... Well, you will obviously come with me, haha... ” Vincent swiftly responded while scratching his cheek. The two needed to hear a good answer, or things might end badly for him.

Somehow he had a feeling that this new family will chain him to this new world, unlike his strange Earth. But a life with them wasn’t so bad, he thought.

Soon the three grabbed the last set of clothes and headed for the lake while Vincent explained his theory about the healing effect on the way.

After someone becomes a blessed retainer, they seem to get healed as if reborn. However, Ester could barely believe his words, yet her skin became soft and smooth as if she wore a new body.

Also, Lupa was not only healed but also her thin starving body returned to normal as if she usually ate her fill every day.

Ester then explained how healing spells had four ranks. The last rank, Blessed Heal, is a spell that no one has learned in the last hundreds of years.

Unfortunately, Ester never saw a High Heal spell cast in front of her, so she didn’t know the effects and compare the two.

Since around Vincent many impossible things happened. The chance of being a Blessed Heal spell was high. This is the conclusion they had.

Soon they arrived at the lake. The moonlight illuminated this small lake while the reflection of the moon shone next to a large cracked ten-meter boulder.

There were many small rocks around the small lake, and with a closer examination, the cracked large boulder had many deep claw marks in the middle.

As Ester said, the boulder was there from a huge fight, and the possibility of the small lake created from a fight might be believable. Vincent kept guessing while Lupa was about to start undressing.

“Ahem.” Ester cleared her throat to grab Vincent’s attention while she stopped Lupa from removing her clothes.

“Ahh... I will hide behind the tree. Call for me when you are in the water.” Vincent went to hide behind a tree while his heart raced, and his cheeks red.

‘I’m I going to get a lucky peek?’ echoed in his mind.

“What is this?” Lupa looked confused.

“Place this towel in front of you and hide your front female parts. You can wrap it around you after you exit the water.” Ester showed how to do this and walked to the water.

“Ok, fine. Wait for me.” Lupa ran after her.

Both girls went next to the boulder and stayed in the bright reflection of the moon.

“You can join us. We are ready.” Lupa shouted while waving her hand.

Vincent undressed and quickly wrapped the towel around his hips. He then walked towards Ester and Lupa.

The girls were under the moon’s reflection, and unfortunately, he could barely see anything under the water. The moonlight acted as a censoring light.

Although the view was stunning and the cool breeze calming, Vincent sighed as he couldn’t even take an accidental peek. That night, the censoring moon was his enemy.

The small lake wasn’t deep as it reached the hips of the six-footer, Vincent. So the three could walk instead of swimming.

Vincent approached them and crouched to start cleaning himself. Suddenly he felt something soft touching his back.

“I got you, hehe.” Lupa giggled as she hugged Vincent while her plum chest pressed against his back.

“S-stop!” Vincent urgently shouted as the pure young man became excited.

“I’ll wash your back...” Lupa was about to continue teasing before Ester interrupted Lupa while touching her small chest in jealousy.

“Use your hands to wash his back! Not your chest!” Ester embarrassingly shouted with a jealous glare. The subject of chest size was a taboo around her.

“Tsk. Ok.” Lupa slyly clicked her tongue from losing her chance to mate with Vincent. Then she washed his back with her hands with a plan in mind.

The sly wolf wasn’t defeated yet and soon said, “Now wash my back in return, my mate. hehe.”

Vincent fell in her trap. He looked at Ester with a pair of green puppy eyes to receive help. Under the water was something he wanted to hide.

Ester quickly understood as she could see him frequently lowering his gaze down. Her face flushed red as she thought of this. She also noticed how Lupa showed too much erotic behavior to call it playing.

“Lupa, could you wash my back?” Ester asked.

“Y-yes, bond with your sister. Go wash her back, and she will wash yours.” Vincent continued on the subject Ester brought up.

Vincent swiftly escaped and placed his back against the boulder. Finally, he could take a breather and calm down his excitement.

.....

As a person with no experience with women, he didn’t want to ruin everything in one night. Trouble seemed to follow him in every corner, be it the cabin or the village. He didn’t want to make this as his third horrible situation.

In front of him was an enjoyable view. Two beauties washing each other’s back while giggling a pleasing tune, illuminated under the censoring moonlight, it was a scene to behold.

Suddenly his heart started to race. At first he thought it was because of the view, but soon after, he held his chest with his hands from the pain.

*Argh

Both finished washing while they heard Vincent yell in pain.

Vincent then felt a sudden, painful headache rush to his head. He didn’t know what was happening to him and felt scared. Was this going to be the last sight before he dies?

Ester and Lupa worryingly rushed to check what was happening to Vincent. They tried to ask, but he didn’t respond. As if he couldn’t hear them.

Thick veins bulged one by one. His mark and eyes began glowing green. Upon looking closely, both could see red veins in his eyes. He seemed in excruciating pain by something unknown.

*buzzzz

While Ester tried to communicate with him, Lupa heard a strange sound. It was faint, but her heightened wolf ears hear this. The sound of a weak buzzing vibration was originating from the large damaged boulder.

Lupa placed her ears on the rock, then closed her eyes to concentrate. She confirmed that the buzzing sound came from the boulder, but it was too faint to show ripples on the water.

Lupa quickly put one and one together. She decided the boulder was the culprit hurting Vincent.

“Stop hurting Vincent, you stupid rock!” Lupa furrowed her brows in anger while kicking the large boulder. However, no matter how many times she violently kicked, he was still in pain, and she hurt her legs as well.
