 Chapter 30: Happy Gathering

“Miss Nyx, welcome to the Vatican Restaurant.”

When Reidon and Nyx walked into the Vatican Restaurant together, the surrounding staff greeted them warmly.

Reidon was stunned.

Was Nyx a regular here?

She was immediately recognized as soon as she showed up.

Then, Reidon followed Nyx into the restaurant without further thought.

“Miss Nyx, do you still want to go to the usual private room?”

Nyx said nothing. She nodded coldly in agreement.

Then, under the guidance of the waiter, they went to the usual private room.

Just as the two of them were about to enter, the door of the private room beside them opened and four men came out.

They seemed to be satiated and ready to leave.

Reidon glanced at them and did not pay much attention.

These four men brushed past Reidon.

Just as the four men took a few steps forward, the leading man suddenly stopped.

Then, his expression changed dramatically.

The people behind him also seemed to sense that something was wrong.

“Go back to that private room! Order a few dishes and pretend we’re still eating!”

The man in the lead whispered to the people behind him.

The three nodded and put on relaxed expressions. They went to the front desk and ordered a few dishes.

Reidon followed Nyx into the private room.

Just as Reidon entered the Vatican Restaurant, he sent Mouse a location.

After all, Mouse had helped him so much. For the sake of their friendship, he thought he should invite Mouse to dinner. In this way, he could use one meal to repay the favor of two people.

It would be a good deal.

However, Reidon’s mind changed when he saw the menu the waiter handed him.

He felt like a fool when he discovered that the cheapest dish on the menu, green salad, cost $200.

The price of this dish was too high! Did the chef put gold leaf in the salad?

This place was indeed a black market.

Would the dishes in this restaurant extend his life or something?

He went on to scan the other dishes on the menu, such as steak and foie gras.

The prices of these dishes were even more ridiculous.

He looked up again at Nyx, who was focused on her phone, and the waiter who was waiting at the side. Reidon felt a little hopeless.

He suddenly felt that Nyx must have done it on purpose.

She knew he was poor, but she still took him to such a luxurious place to eat.

It was impossible to leave now.

Reidon was a very proud man. If he left now, he would definitely feel embarrassed.

He could not accept the loss of his pride.

If he left now, he would surely be ridiculed by Nyx.

Thinking of this, he proceeded to order with his teeth gritted.

He pretended to be relaxed and quickly searched the menu for a few vegetarian dishes which were relatively cheaper than the others.

“I want this, this, this, and this.”

Reidon pointed at the pictures on the menu and waited for the waiter to take them down.

These should be enough.

After Reidon ordered the dishes, he saw that the waiter still hadn’t left.

The waiter continued to ask:

“Sir, what kind of wine do you need?”

The waiter looked at Reidon and said with a smile.

Hearing the waiter, Reidon understood.

In a place like this, alcohol was definitely indispensable.

However, alcohol here would be very expensive.

Glancing at the price list, Reidon’s heart ached.

He looked at Nyx and said slowly, “Nyx, I remember you don’t drink, right?”

He had made the question out of politeness, but he had not expected such an answer from Nyx. “Drinking? Why not? It’s rare for Mr. Reidon to treat me to a meal, so of course I want to drink.”

Reidon stared at Nyx’s face and felt a strong sense of hatred.

He flipped the menu to the wine section.

Even the cheapest wine cost more than 1000 dollars.

Reidon hesitated for a long time when he saw the price.

Nyx glanced at Reidon, and felt better when she saw the poor boy’s awkwardness as he ordered dishes.

“Give it to me. Why are you so slow at ordering?”

After Nyx said that, she took the menu from Reidon’s hand without waiting for his permission.

Then, the waiter walked to Nyx’s side.

“How many dishes did you order? Let me see.”

Nyx looked at the dishes Reidon ordered and frowned.

“Why did you just order such a few dishes?” Your friend is coming over later, right? I don’t care. I can eat anything, but I can’t let you be embarrassed in front of your friends. Wouldn’t that make you look stingy?”

As she spoke, Nyx flipped through the menu and quickly ordered more than ten dishes.

“This one, this one, and that one.”

She didn’t even look before ordering. She obviously ate here often.

The more she ordered, the more Reidon’s heart ached.

That cost him money.

“Alright!”

Reidon called out in a low voice, looking a little angry.

After hearing Reidon’s words, Nyx glanced at Reidon and said slowly, “The dishes would be enough. We’ll add a bottle of wine. XO will do.”

“Okay, Miss Nyx.” The waiter nodded.

With that, the waiter left the room.

Just as the waiter was about to leave and Reidon was about to say something, the door of the room was opened again.

The person who came in was none other than Mouse.

“This restaurant is really luxurious! Treating us here must be hard on your budget!”

As he said that, Mouse laughed.

He did not stand in ceremony. They had been brothers for so many years, so he sat down directly next to Reidon.

Reidon couldn’t say anything else, so he let the waiter leave.

He looked at Nyx and felt very angry.

Sooner or later, he would have to take revenge.

At this moment, the waiter brought the appetizers and also helped them decant the XO.

Looking at the table full of extravagant wine and dishes, Mouse also had fewer things to say.

He kept eating and praising the food endlessly.

“Let me drink a toast to both of you. I’ve troubled you for the past two days!”

Reidon picked up his glass, stood up, and said to Nyx and Mouse.
