Silver Wish

Chapter 89 - I remember

A few hours later

When they finally returned, neither of them spoke until they reached the room. Even then, the only thing they managed to say to each other was 'Can we kiss.' and a meek okay. Before long, they did more than kiss.

Lila's gaze fell on the man placing kisses on her stomach. It still felt a bit strange doing these things with him.

They may be married, but neither of them have their memories. However, she was the first one who made a move. By kissing Haruka, she understood what would happen. He even hesitated, but she urged him.

'I thought this way we would remember faster.' The others casually mentioned how their relationship was. So she thought if she reacted some scenes, he would remember. But it seems like that isn't the case.

Moreover, she isn't against this at all.

"What's wrong?" Haruka raised his face from her ċhėst. "Do you want to stop today?"

"N--no, I like this."

His gaze softened as he lightly kissed her forehead. "You're so good to me, my wife. I am pleased."

'He is so shameless.' For somebody who was so against it, he is always all over her. But then again, he is only clingy when people aren't watching. She likes that he respects her privacy.

Lila ċȧrėssed his hair with her hands. "My husband, do you want to speak more with the others?"

She noticed how he took great lengths to avoid them. They had this talk earlier, too, but he didn't react much.

To her surprise, Haruka suddenly stopped and wrapped a blanket around her. "Alright, I think this is enough for today."

Lila blinked, surprised at this action of his. Then again, he is a kind person. He isn't the type to take advantage of her when she brings up a serious topic.

"To answer your question, sometimes I want to," Haruka admitted. "I like your company, my wife. But, I also find it weird not speaking to the other people I am living with."

"Then-"

"But there is no use speaking to people who do not want to speak with me. Other than Nobuhiko, the other two tend to avoid speaking with me as much as possible." Haruka trailed off. "That silver-haired guy, the one you call your childhood friend, seems to resent me."

"Kiryu isn't petty like that. I am sure you are misunderstanding."

A troubled look appeared on Haruka's face, and Lila realized what that sounded like. He is her husband; she ought to take his side first!

Lila sat up and wrapped her arms around his neck as she mumbled softly. "I do love you, my husband. Even with my lack of memories, my emotions towards you differ from those I feel towards Kiryu. I don't want to kiss or hug Kiryu. I only want to do those things with you."

"I understand; you don't have to explain. Get some sleep now."

'Is he upset?' It is hard to say. If she had her memories back, perhaps she would be able to help him properly.

….

Lila opened her eyes, puzzled and with a terrible headache. She scanned the room she was in, confused. 'Where am I? What is this--' Her thoughts broke off once she realized something. There was somebody beside her on the bed. No, more importantly, she was nȧkėd and had a man's arms wrapped around her.

For a moment, she froze, thinking that something happened, and she ended up getting taken advantage of. But her eyes widened when she heard a raspy voice.

"Go back to sleep, my wife."

She felt her heartbeat increase hearing a familiar voice.

It can't be?

Lila turned to the source of the voice, and her eyes widened once she saw the man beside her. Despite the changes, she recognized her husband.

"Haruka?"

"Mmm, sorry, I'm really tired." Haruka gently kissed her lips. "We can chat tomorrow; you need rest too."

He doesn't say anymore, and Lila watches as his eyelids shut again.

She stared at him, baffled. 'What on earth is going on here?' Lila searched her memory for answers, and it all returned to her slowly. She wanted to scream for her behaviour. Right, the flower from Atsuro-san.

Her gaze fell on the bedside, and she noticed that the last petal had fallen. 'So this is why I remember now. I wish somebody gave me a warning.' Lila didn't think she would suddenly regain her memories this way.

She took a deep breath, and her gaze returned to her husband. This is Haruka, so does this mean he returned on his own? No, from what her mother said, it seemed like those people were holding Haruka captive.

Her thoughts broke off when she heard a knock on the door.

"Lila? Are you alright? Is Haruka sleeping now? I brought you your drink."

Kiryu?

Lila looked around the room and found a nightgown. She slipped it on and draped a poncho around her shoulders before slipping out of Haruka's embrace.

She was reluctant just to leave, but Lila knew she wouldn't get answers this way. Lila hurried towards the door and opened it, indeed to find Kiryu there.

"Hey." Kiryu's gaze is gentle. "I bought you your drink. I mixed the medicine in like usual. Is Haruka--"

"Kiryu," Lila said seriously. "I remember, so can you please explain what is happening? Why is Haruka- no how did Haruka get here?"

She didn't beat around the bush. She wanted answers and then wanted to return to him as soon as possible.

'I have missed him so much. I want to confirm if that is him there, or maybe I am hallucinating.'

Kiryu's eyes widened, but he slowly nodded his head. He pointed to the room across. "Let's go in there. If he hears, it may trigger something."

Lila nodded and followed Kiryu inside the other room. Kiryu then proceeds to explain to her how they were in New York; she remembers this much. But as for what happened next, she was unsure.

"When you passed out that day, the next time you woke up, you said 'My Kiryu.' It surprised me, and I immediately sensed that there was something wrong with you. After asking a few questions, I confirmed that you lost your memory. I asked Nobu to confirm things with you- oh, do you still know who that is?"

"I do."

"Nobu said your memory loss was temporary, and mainly as a result of you thinking Haruka was dead."

"But it wasn't. It was because of the flower Atsuro-san gave me."

"When you were in a more stable state, I asked you this, and you admitted everything to me. This happened not too long ago. But you still returned with no memories the next day. It surprised me how effective it was."

Lila tapped her fingers against the desk. "What I want to know is Haruka. How did he get here?"

"It seems Shinozaki took advantage of Sophia's absence and escaped with Haruka. Of course, her escape wasn't swift; people noticed and tried to drag them back. They were on the verge of getting caught and lost their strength to run. But Sumire-San showed up."

So mother rescued Haruka and Rikka-san, then she can personally go over and ask for the details. Her thoughts broke off when she saw Kiryu looking at her.

"Is there something else?"

"No, I just thought it was funny how quickly you reverted to your usual self.
