Silver Wish

Chapter 85 - A final goodbye

Indeed what use is there staying here? Besides, she has already confirmed that Haruka can talk again. She already saw with her own eyes that as long as Haruka is with Lila, then in due time, his wounds will heal. His old self will return. There is no place for her here.

Rikka knew the others living here had a hard time dealing with her. Naturally, they didn't know how to react since they care for Lila and understood that she was the main cause of the girls' suffering.

Initially, she only intended to stay for a few days and then go. Even though she didn't have a place to stay, it was better than remaining here where just seeing Haruka's hate towards her made her burst into tears.

"Can I have time to say goodbye?!"

"You can." Sumire trailed off and squeezed her hands. "Rikka-chan, you truly are a kind girl."

"I don't think so. Would a kind girl try to break up a happy family?"

Sumire paused for a moment. "That depends on how you define kindness. I don't think the truly kind ones are people who have made no mistakes and have lived a flawless lifestyle. The truly kind ones are the ones with the biggest flaws and have learned from them." Sumire helped her up. "Rikka-chan, you understand that you made a mistake before, right?"

"I do."

Of course, she does. "I already knew from the start. I love Haruka, after all, so I knew when I first saw them interact. He only has eyes for her. But when I realized he felt some guilt towards me, I thought I could use it."

It was stupid, all of it. Ever since she came back from abroad, Rikka felt like something possessed by something. Why did she behave so shamelessly? Why did she cling onto something that was never hers?

..

Rikka went about her day as normal; she mainly remained in her room and only made meals in the kitchen when she knew the others weren't around. She learned the

It was dark and quiet; there wasn't a single sound. Rikka quickly crept into Lila's room, knowing that Haruka would be there. Indeed, sure enough, she saw a mop of brunette-colored hair on the bed. But surprisingly, Terashima Lila wasn't there.

It is late; where could she have gone? It isn't safe to be out, Rikka paused in mid-thought. Maybe she went to see Austin Kiryu. She heard from the others that the girl had a hard time sleeping at night due to her scattered memories.

She wondered if Haruka knew, and if so, was he okay with it? Before he lost his memories. Haruka often complained about Austin Kiryu. The jealousy he wouldn't openly display, he would do so in front of her.

Rikka always wondered why he could discuss those issues with her. It made her feel a bit special that he could confide in her. It was stupid of her to be so happy over something so little. At the end of the day, it was something so minor.

Her gaze fell towards Haruka, fast asleep. She hesitantly extended her hand out and ċȧrėssed her cheeks. This is the first time she has seen him sleeping so peacefully. Both of them have endured so much torture and pain the last few months.

It is a miracle that they made it there alive. Although the danger has not passed completely. Rikka felt that from now on, Haruka would be okay. Some people love and care for him here. The wound in his heart will heal even if the physical scars will take much longer.

"Sleeping so defencelessly like this, you are too careless, Haruka. This is why Sophia and those other girls could take advantage of you."

To be exact, that stopped when Terashima Lila returned his feelings. Haruka has always had her in his heart.

"When you first told me who the girl in your heart was, it surprised me. I thought you were crazy; for one, everybody knew about how Terashima Lila and Austin Kiryu felt towards each other long before they were an official couple. It was something people naturally understood, and that was why they never interfered."

She thought he was crazy, and yet at the same time, she understood how serious his feelings were.

"I told you then that I would help you forget, but truthfully, I didn't know what to do. I could tell that you truly liked her. Our relationship started sėxuȧŀly too, so I knew it would take some time for things to be normal between us."

She struggled for so long, thinking of ways to break the barrier between them. But in the end, it was Haruka who broke it by gifting her a necklace.

'I don't know if you will like it. I apologize if I got your tastes wrong, but I thought this would look good on you.' For the first time, it felt that Haruka was truly looking at her.

No, the moment she said those words to him, he was already trying to get over Lila. It was her who was paranoid that he would never get over her.

"You know Haruka; there were so many things I wanted to do with you. I wanted to return to France together and see that rose garden again; it was very beautiful. It felt like we were in another world. I wanted to live there with you and open up a small bakery. Even though you laughed at me then for not being a good cook, I worked hard to improve. When I first presented my cooking to you after all that studying, it was the first time you complimented me. It made me so happy."

Her gaze softened at the memory. They truly have so many happy memories.

"We would have a small cottage-like house with a gorgeous garden in the outskirts of town. I know you dislike busy places. I also had another dream, working alongside you in the entertainment industry. We would become the ultimate power couple. Ohh, sometimes I wish I had multiple lives. If I did, then I could accomplish more things with you. I could meet you in different ways and still fall in love with you."

But whether it is this life or the next, or even the ones after. "The one you will love is Lila-san; it won't be me."

Rikka bent down and grabbed hold of his hand as she leaned forward and kissed him. This is the last time she won't ever do this again. She will seal her heart, these deep feelings for him. It is shameful for her to even do this much, but she wants to feel that warmth one last time. The lips of the man she fell for, the one she gave her heart to.

After a few minutes, she drew back with a pained smile. "This is goodbye Haruka, please take care of yourself."

From now on, no matter what happens, she will never meet him again.
