Silver Wish

Could it be?

He recalls Terashima Kyoko's words from the other day. They were together but ended up getting separated.

Haruka increased his footsteps and rushed over. A huge blanket covered the person. He slowly lifted it and indeed confirmed his suspicions. It was Atsuy- no Tsueno Huan, his wife's half brother and his former best friend.

"Huan? Hey?"

The man weakly opened his eyes. His signature loopy grin appeared on his face. "I found you."

"Are you an idiot? You're too late."

Huan laughed. "Sorry sorry, I had to help my cute sisters first." His gaze turned serious. "Have you seen Kyoko? I lost her--"

Haruka nodded. "She came to me yesterday."

"Ah that's a relief, thank good-" Huan paused in mid sentence and he coughed. A fit of coughs escaped his lips. But it was no normal cough, his eyes widened when he saw the blood that escaped the man's lips.

Haruka thanked the doctor and re-entered the room. Terashima Kyoko sat down on the chair and held his hand.

"Do you want to lay down too? It must hurt sitting like that?"

Kyoko shook her head. "It's okay." Her gaze fell on the man fast asleep on the bed. "What are the chances that we both came to find you?"

"He promised me he would meet me."

"I see, that's why it looked like he was in a rush." Kyoko trailed off. "I'm so relieved."

Haruka wanted to tell her that he found it suspicious. It looked like somebody threw him off the wall. He was wrapped protectively in a green shawl so it clearly wasn't an enemy. But who could it be? Who would help Huan? Everybody knows who he is.

The Terashima family no Terashima Sumire isn't exactly popular right now. Everybody is blaming it on her. People are saying this messy situation only happened when she returned. Indeed the past seven years before she came there was nothing like this. But it isn't necessarily her fault.

Humans just took much longer to evolve. Now that nearly everybody has powers and their existence isnt a secret. Naturally the balance of the world has fallen.

Even if Terashima Sumire did not return, this situation would have happened eventually.

Haruka is cheating!!

Just because Rikka-san kissed you doesn't mean you can forget me.

Haruka blinked when he saw that message. How on earth does she know-- he paused. Could it be she is watching him somehow? He stared at the message for a few minutes before he decided to call her. The entire time his palms were sweating. He knew the moment he heard her voice he wouldn't be able to hide it. Not that he planned to. Naturally she has to know.

It was a video call request, which he had to accept.

Lila wore a black tank top with a stripe purple shawl. There was something mȧturė looking about her look today, so he stared for a few minutes. "..beautiful."

She laughed softly. "Uh-huh. Im out on a job but I wanted to talk to you for a few minutes. Are you okay? I haven't heard from you in awhile so Im a bit worried."

"A bit?"

"Im worrying like crazy."

His gaze softened at her words. "I see." He looked over and noticed Kyoko staring. She probably wants to talk to Lila too rig-- Haruka paused when he saw her hold up a sign.

"Rikka is pregnant."

Haruka decided to go out and say it. After all he doesn't want to keep this from her.

"Mm, I figured."

Huh?

Lila laughed. "Don't underestimate my sharp instincts." She trailed off. "Well I guess I settled my feelings on the matter already."

She settled her feelings? What did she decide?

"Rikka-sans child, I want you to support her in anyway you can."

His eyes widened when he heard her say those words. He couldn't believe it.

"Before we separated we fought about it a lot, about what to do with her. I was jealous, insecure and that made you worry all the time. I love you so much but after what happened I could no longer trust you, even though you were in so much pain. I ended up causing you more grief." She laughed again. "Really, looking back I wondered why I was throwing such a tantrum. From the first day Rikka came back, you never paid attention to her. She was the one clinging to you."

"Wife, I.."

"It's okay Haruka, I understand. You love me so much, you didn't betray me on purpose. I can't say my jealousy is completely gone. But I understand your feelings for me. In a few weeks we will see each other, I can't wait to see you."

"Me too.." Haruka mumbled. He was still in shock, he didn't think she would behave so reasonably.

"Then I have to go now. See you soon, I love you."

With those words said the phone call ended. Did she really accept that? Or was she holding things back? Haruka paused for a moment and glanced at the phone. He recalled everything. Her voice, it sounded like she was shaking and that smile, there was something wrong. She-- just found out. Her eyes looked like it was sore from crying a lot and she wouldnt look him in the eyes.

His thoughts broke off when he heard the sound of the door opening and Rikka stepped outside. She walked over to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. She pressed her body against his and mumbled. "Are you fine?"

"Yeah."

"I know it is shocking but let's do our best to raise the child."

It occurred to Haruka just now that Rikka probably thinks this changes the situation. She most likely thinks that with this he won't return to Lila. Unfortunately he is too tired to explain things to her. Even if he explains it to her, Haruka felt she wouldn't listen.

"Did the doctor say you could leave?"

"Yes, I told him I want to recuperate at home."

Of course they let her go, it frees up space. If the doctor did not owe him a favor it would be difficult to get in here. Haruka nodded. "Alright, lets get going." His sentence fell short when Rikka leaned forward and kissed him.

His eyes widened at the contact. In the past he could still ignore it but now? Now whenever Rikka kissed him, he felt nothing but disgust. "I will make you happy Haruka.."

Make him happy?

"--as--as your wife, um I will do my best."

Haruka could still recall it. When he first came to terms that Lila tricked him into signing marriage papers. That night she told him with those bright eyes and flushed cheeks that she would do her best for him. He looked coldly at Rikka and pulled her away from him. He wiped his lips with his sleeve.

'She isn't Lila..' This is all wrong.
