Silver Wish

Chapter 18 - I have to tell him

She ate very quickly after that. She didn't want to leave Kiryu alone for too long. Shougo was worried that she would be hungry, so he gave her some food to bring upstairs.

Kiryu was looking through her desk, a particular book in his hands.

Lila almost dropped the tray when she saw that. But she quickly regained her balance.

Kiryu glanced over at her and chuckled. "You kept this?"

"It was a coincidence." Or rather it was strangely among Harukas belongings when she saw that Lila didn't think much of it.

"Did you see what was inside page forty-two, fifty-three, sixty-four, seventy-five, eighty-six?"

At that comment, Lila raised her eyebrow. What is with the specific pages? Did he leave something in there for her? But wait if he left something, then is that why Haruka had the book? She simply thought he wanted to read it, but it seems like he must have seen the items inside.

"I wrote you some cute letters, but I guess you didn't see them."

"Letters?"

"Mm, I checked, and it isn't inside, so I ȧssume Haruka took it."

Lila blinked. He figured that out far too quickly. "Don't blame him, he--" She recalled his trembling figure in the airport. "- has more insecurities than you and me."

Unlike Kiryu and her, Haruka had nobody, but he also had no confidence in himself. He did not think he deserved anything, nor did he believe in what he was capable of. The past few months were harder for her because she was worried about him. Who is hugging him to sleep and reassuring him? Who is providing him the support she gave him?

Lila regretted it, but she knew she would not change her mind if she could go back.

"I think you shouldn't have left him."

She laughed at his words. "Even you think so too? Mm, I agree. I should not have left. But I was worried." Lila closed her eyes briefly. "The current state of things here is worse than I imagined. With my mother in new york and sister missing, this place is defenseless."

Lila did not know where her sister went. But even if she were here, she knew her sister would not help this time. This is something only she can take care of.

"Lila."

"Even if it means sacrificing my peaceful days with Haruka, I had to come here."

She knew the risks coming here, no coming here when she was pregnant. Haruka took great lengths to ensure that she did not face any of those dangers. He concealed it from her, and she did not realize how bad things were in certain areas of New York.

To her surprise, Kiryu suddenly pulled her into his arms. "Haruka will kill me if I do anything more than hug you."

Lila laughed when she heard those words. "Should I tell him how you kissed me?"

"Uh, please, no."

"Thank you so much, Kiryu, for being here with me," Lila mumbled quietly.

If Kiryu did not appear before her, she would have broken down by now. Since she came to Star Town again, she kept all her emotions in check. She missed her husband so badly, but she couldn't even cry. She didn't want to give birth without Haruka by her side, but she did not have any choice.

"Sorry." Kiryu apologized. "You miss your kid too, don't you? I am sorry, Lila."

"Can I see him? Please, Kiryu." This is the only consolidation for her since she can't meet with her husband now.

Kiryu shook his head. "I am sorry, Lila, I cannot allow you to see him. But please rest ȧssured that the child is in good health."

"Does he look like Haruka?" Lila mumbled.

"He looks like you; he has those puffy cheeks. I guess you transferred your weight to him."

At that comment, Lila hits him, and Kiryu laughed.

Lila left his hold, realizing how bad it looked. She walked over to the bed and then looked over at the couch. It looked very uncomfortable, but she can't ask him to sleep on the bed with her.

"So, hey Lila, I have a question for you."

A question? Lila looked back at him, puzzled. In a flash second, she felt the dagger she carried with her at her throat. Her eyes widened at Kiryu's actions, but she did not flinch.

Why would she? She stopped the blade in mid-air, so it did not touch her.

"You keep using your powers." Kiryu nodded. "I thought there was something strange about this place. How come nobody has attacked this area yet?"

"What do you mean?"

"Lila, this place shows no trace of anybody entering other than you and the guys. It is like there is an invisible forcefield. No, like this place does not exisit and like it is in a separate dimension."

At that comment, Lila sighed. Why is Kiryu so clever? Not even the other guys have noticed it, and they are the ones who are living with her right now.

It seems like she has no choice but to tell him.

_______

In K Region

Her name is Terashima Sumire, and she is the mother of those children. The two children that will save the rest of this world from crumbling apart. It isn't just Lila-chan but Kyoko too. Those people must have figured it out including Kyoko, that is why the girl went into hiding.

When she saved the world back then, Sumire knew that a day like this would eventually come. She understood that peace would be temporary. They fought so hard but it wasn't enough.

Her thoughts broke off when she hears the sound of approaching footsteps but she didn't detect any malice.

"So, did you think I would let you come here alone?"

Her eyes widened when she recognized the voice. Sumire turned and saw her husband wearing a similar cloak to hers but it was pitch black. Sumire laughed softly. "You followed me?"

"Well yeah of course I would." Yuhi ċȧrėssed her face. "You look cold."

Sumire laughed. "I am okay Yuhi. But well, I guess its a good thing you decided to stalk me again."

He flicked her forehead. "Brat. I already contacted your brother. He will open up the barrier for a brief moment."

At that comment Sumire looked down. "I didnt come home for years, even when Mother found him. Do you think he will get mad at me?"

"Silly, if he is angry at you he wouldn't let us in."

Indeed that is true. "I'm not very good at this family stuff Yuhi." She thought for so long that her own family was dead.

Yuhi cupped her cheeks. "But you have me now Sumire. You don't have to worry about anything like that."

Her gaze softened when she heard his words. "I wonder why you can still say such things that make my heart beat."

Yuhi sighed. "Well it is easy to get you flustered my dear."

Sumire laughed. "Is that so?" She glanced over and spotted a small spec of light from the corner.. "I think that's the signal lets go."
