Silver Wish

When she returned the next day, Kiryu dropped her near the house. He wanted to return her directly, but he spotted some people from that side. Lila didn't have to walk a long time alone since Shichiro found her, which brought her to this present situation. He was giving her one of his famous lectures.

Lila, however, could not focus. She recalled something she saw this morning when Kiryu was leaving the shower. Small traces of circles on his body. A needle jab?

It seems like she will have to ask him another time.

"--are you even listening?"

From: Kiryu

Hey...could you come with me somewhere for a bit?

Her eyes widened when she saw the message.

"Lila, you have to attend the hanyou society meeting. All the important people are there." Shichiro suddenly looked towards Eijiro. "You go to, don't leave her alone again."

Lila shook her head. "I know those places make him uncomfortable, so I would rather not. It's okay. I will go there myself."

Along the way, she can find out what Kiryu wants.

For someone who coldly stated to forget him. Kiryu is very lenient with her. She thought after that first time, he would coldly brush her off. He gave her the location of his safe houses, but he also texts her goodnight and good morning. Lila glanced over at the man who was walking a few steps ahead.

"So, did Shichiro say anything?"

"He gave me his famous lecture."

Kiryu chuckled. "Well, that's like him. So what excuse did you have to go out?"

"I usually help Hyou4 with their patrols anyway. But today? I have to go and meet those people." Lila looked over at Kiryu. He treats her so well and seems to be his usual self. So why can't they stay together? Moreover, he told her to forget about him.

"Well, I hope I am not taking too much of your time then."

"I hope this takes long, so I have an excuse to skip."

He ran his hands through her hair. "Silly girl."

It really is strange. The more she examined his behavior, the more confused she became. Kiryu is his usual kind and gentleman like self. Sure his appearance has changed, but he hasn't done anything harmful. In the time since she met him again, he seemed even nicer than before.

But she can't bring herself to ask. Why do people think he is a murderer? Sure, most rumors are false and things people made up. However, rumors usually come from somewhere.

She does not think people would come to that conclusion without any evidence. Other than the blood at the scene, what else is there?

"Watch your step."

His warning came far too late before she could lose her balance; however, Kiryu grabbed hold of her waist and pulled her towards him. Her head landed on his ċhėst, and she heard the sound of something beating rapidly.

But that moment vanished in an instance when she heard the sound of something cracking. Lila turned to the source and saw a huge hole where she stood moments ago.

"This is why you don't space out when your walking moron."

"R--right." Lila knew she couldn't refute him this time.

"But, I guess this means we have to take the long way round."

She wonders what is so important for him to take her out like this. Then again, it isn't a bad thing. Lila didn't want to attend the meeting for specific reasons. Those people only care about taking advantage of the current situation. Somebody suggested they use their abilities to act as saviors and then make demands later on. A deep sigh crossed her lips as

"Are you comfortable?"

She felt the heat creep up onto her face at that comment, and she quickly pulled away. But the moment she did, she felt unsteady, and suddenly dizzy. Kiryu pulled her back into his embrace.

"You know your still sick, at least take it easy."

"Take it easy?"

Kiryu sighed and grabbed her hand. "Don't let go. There are many dangerous pathways in this area. The road won't be smooth from this point onwards. This path was supposed to be safe, but I guess not now."

"I see."

"Are you feeling that bad? Your not talking that much."

Why did things end up this way? If she made a different decision back then would the situation be different now? If she rushed out of the train and ran back to him, would they still be able to speak now?

Would he not have left her and allowed her to share whatever burden he is carrying now? Lila still wanted answers. But she knew this was not the time for it. Right now, it must be hard for Kiryu to just walk with his own two feet.

Her gaze darted towards their intertwined hands. His hands are cold, and yet what is this warmth she feels whenever they are together? Is it because its Kiryu? She doesn't understand this even now. Why does this person make her feel emotions she would rather throw away?

"So, you know, I thought this through, but I wanted to take you to a nice place."

Lila blinked when she heard this. So the urgent matter to attend to is this? "A nice place?"

"Yeah. I figured with everything happening, and you haven't gone anywhere nice for a while."

Going somewhere nice is the last thing on her mind. But if Kiryu thinks this way, he probably wants her to cheer up. Does she look that sad and miserable?

"Thank you." Lila managed to say.. She does need some free time to relax, so maybe this won't be bad.
