Chapter 48: Screw Over Oneself

“Something’s not right…”

Li Huailin hadn’t seen a single player ever since he entered Lava Crack ten minutes ago. Li Huailin started to feel suspicious.

“Are they waiting for me at the main city gate?” Li Huailin thought for a while and murmured to himself, “No… their men who were collecting materials here earlier are also gone. Did they leave already?”

This was too bad. Li Huailin frowned. His plans for making a fortune out of them had been interrupted.

“In case they can’t find me, I should add them as friends first.”

Li Huailin came up with this idea and immediately added Ask Sky as his friend.

Li Huailin was slightly surprised. The fight hadn’t come to an end yet! What happened to him? Did he encounter something urgent he had to do in reality?

“Well.. their official’s name is called…” Li Huailin tried to recall Nine Song’s name but failed. He searched his battle record and didn’t see his name anywhere.

Finally, Li Huailin decided to add one of them as friends randomly. He guessed that they were looking for him right now and he could do them a favor by telling them where he was currently located. Li Huailin found a name in his battle record, it was a player who was killed by him earlier, he then sent him a friend request.

“Deputy Leader, Kickass Brother just sent me a friend request,” a player exclaimed on World Destruction guild’s channel.

“Just ignore him and refuse the request.” Nine Song thought momentarily about it and informed the rest of the guild members, “Everyone! Refuse his friend request!”

Everyone nodded and did as Nine Song commanded.

After receiving the rejection notice, Li Huailin was slightly confused.

Li Huailin found a few more names and then sent the corresponding friend requests, however, they were all immediately rejected.

“What’s going on?” Li Huailin scratched his head.

He wondered if his path to wealth had been discovered by the World Destruction guild. But he also couldn’t believe that Ask Sky would just let this matter go. If he were to Ask Sky right now, the latter would probably try his very best to take revenge.

Li Huailin’s head started aching. He thought that he had finally found a way to make a fortune, and yet, after two successful attempts, the path had already been blocked. Li Huailin was hoping that he could rely on the World Destruction guild to cover all of his expenses, this beautiful fantasy went away so fast.

“Damn. I thought those guys were good people. I thought we were so close with each other.” Li Huailin now started to dislike Ask Sky. Since this place was the World Destruction guild’s turf, Li Huailin decided to stay here and kill anyone he came across, he wanted to see how long they could hide themselves.

Li Huailin didn’t notice the fact that several men were secretly following him, they continued reporting to the guild which direction Li Huailin was going.

“Attention, everyone. Kickass Brother is heading northeast of the canyon. Members from the logistics department there, please immediately finish your work and move to the southeast,” one of the Rogue players following Li Huailin said on the guild channel.

“This is Yellow River. Roger!” one of the players from the logistics department responded.

“Come on! How old are you? That’s so childish.” A player beside him jokingly patted on his shoulder.

“Don’t you think this is interesting? The same routine every day was figuratively killing me. We basically just collected ingredients and the Heart of the Fire Elemental these past few days, it was so incredibly boring. But today, it’s so much fun. We’re hiding while collecting things,” the player said with a smile.

“I think you have a point.” The other player nodded. “This indeed is much more exciting than before.”

“That’s enough talking, the ghost is coming to this spot. Come with me, everybody,” the leader of the team told them.

“Yes, leader,” both of the players replied.

Li Huailin had no idea that this had become a hide-and-seek game. After wandering around the area for about a quarter of an hour, Li Huailin still hadn’t seen a single person.

Did they all really leave? Li Huailin found it rather suspicious and soon denied this thought. He believed that they must’ve been waiting for him to leave first. Once he left this place, they would immediately come back.

This game had become quite tricky. Li Huailin didn’t know how to collect herbs or ingredients at all. If he asked Red Moon and the ladies to come and collect the flowers, the members from the World Destruction guild would kill them for sure.

Li Huailin didn’t expect this move from the World Destruction guild at all. For a while, he had no idea what to do.

He finally decided to just stay here. Li Huailin believed that the World Destruction guild would suffer a much greater loss than he would, this was an opportune time to test their patience and see who would win. However, what Li Huailin didn’t know was that people from the World Destruction guild were still collecting the flowers while playing hide-and-seek with him.

Without thinking any further, Li Huailin continued wandering about aimlessly inside the Lava Crack. After half an hour, Li Huailin couldn’t bear it any more.

Wandering around while doing nothing was absolutely boring. Li Huailin’s patience had reached the limit since he was literally alone and just walked around like a zombie. He couldn’t even kill the mobs around here to level up. However, he also didn’t want to give up.

This was the World Destruction guild’s fault! Li Huailin wanted to teach them a good lesson. Just when Li Huailin was trying to come up with something to kill time, the magma pit which was covered in heat waves suddenly caught his eyes.

This area was extremely hot because of the magma coming out deep in the canyon. When Li Huailin went deeper into the area, he started to see more and more magma pits. In the center of the canyon was a giant magma pit. The size of the pit was close to a basketball court. Because of the heat waves that were emitted from it, the extremely high temperature made players very reluctant to get close to the spot. In this game, of course, even though the magma wouldn’t really hurt a player, the direct brain stimulation could still be very unpleasant.

Li Huailin suddenly hammered his hand with his fist in a light-bulb moment. “That’s right! I should jump straight into the magma! I could simply level up like this! It takes around 15 minutes every time for me to come back, the World Destruction guild would definitely be unable to bear this! I’m so fu*king smart!”

“Where is Kickass Brother now?” The players from the logistics team asked.

“How many Flame Flowers did he take?” Nine Song also questioned to know about their losses.

“He’s now in the center of the canyon, the Magma Area. I haven’t seen Kickass Brother pick up any flowers, deputy leader,” one of the Rogues responded.

“Not even a single one?” Nine Song was surprised.

“Oh sh*t!”

The Rogue player let out a scream.

“What is it? What happened?” Nine Song hurriedly asked.

“Sh*t! Kickass Brother just jumped directly into the magma!” The Rogue player exclaimed.

“Jump… jump into the magma?” Nine Song repeated his words. “Are you kidding me? For what?”

“I’m not lying! I really saw it with my own eyes. He jumped into the magma himself, it wasn’t an accident,” the Rogue player quickly said.

“Damn! He’s a psycho!” Nine Song suddenly understood why he came out of nowhere just to cause some trouble to the guild.

Although Li Huailin had been registered as a psycho by the World Destruction guild because of his actions, he was now in the middle of the magma pit and was totally speechless. A new buff had appeared in his status bar.

Burning Lava: Increases 1,000 Health Points per second.

“Sh*t! System, do you really have to do this?! Couldn’t you just have made it into direct damage? Why does it have to be a debuff?” Li Huailin couldn’t help and complain while he was in the middle of the magma pit.

Even though this area wasn’t going to make him lose any health points, Li Huailin still felt extremely uncomfortable standing in the magma. It wasn’t only because of the extremely high temperature, the stimulation was causing discomfort to his brain. He had to leave this place.

Obviously, he didn’t have any experience when it came to swimming in magma. He could only try his best. The visibility in the magma was so bad that Li Huailin couldn’t see his surroundings at all. He had no idea which direction he was going. Even after a while of swimming, he still hadn’t reached the surface.

Just when he was about to quit the game to take a break, his hand suddenly touched a rock.

Li Huailin felt instantly encouraged and hurriedly grasped the rock. He quickly pulled himself out of the magma.

While lying on the ground, Li Huailin gasped hard. This time, his big-brain ideas screwed him over.

After looking around, Li Huailin realized that he was no longer in the middle of the Lava Crack.
