Not only is it a major event, but it is also urgent!

Radar bases stationed in Zhejiang and Hainan, Jiangnan provinces and the coastal areas of Mocheng City reported that hundreds of unidentified fighters entered our aviation identification zone. The situation is extremely urgent!

The local air force departments have rushed off several fighters to the target airspace to perform verification missions, but there is no new intelligence yet!

General Liu did not hesitate at all. He immediately ordered all air defense forces and air forces in the southeast coast to enter a first-level combat alert state, and immediately reported the situation to a higher-level leadership agency!

The so-called first level combat alert state for air crew means that all pilots board the plane and enter the cockpit on standby, ready to attack at any time. At this time, even if the pilot wants to go to the toilet, he is not allowed to leave the cockpit, but only in the cockpit. Solve it!

For the air defense forces, all the long-range and short-range air defense radars are all turned on, the fire control radars are warmed up, and all ground-to-air missiles and antiaircraft artillery units are ready to enter combat positions, ready to fire at any time!

At this time, it manifested that a certain moth who likes to stir his wings indiscriminately is better. Because he used every opportunity to continuously promote the advantages of the C3I system on various occasions, he did not hesitate to try in the "Hongqi Security Company". A full set of experimental systems were installed, and during the "Desert Storm" operation, the actual effect of this system was tested with a lucky "anti-missile" combat. At the same time, the large orders from Ibos and Haosha promoted China's In-depth research in this field, at this time, China has finally equipped a similar system experimentally within a certain range, which is five years earlier than another time and space!

It just so happens that the two provinces and one city in the Yangtze River Delta are all within the defense area of the Ningdu Military Region. The Ningdu Military Region has the deepest connection with Tan Zhenhua and became the first and the only one in the military that has achieved military-level C3I management and command. The military region and the military region even took the lead in the entire military to conduct experimental equipment tests on the mobile C3I system-the system equipped by Ding Wei's "Tiger Division".

So what was the state of combat command before this system was equipped?

The basic process is that after the long-range early warning radar finds an air situation, the radar station needs to upload the air situation in the form of voice or message to the Radar Information Division of the Military Command Air Force Command for summary processing and then hand it over to the command post.

There is nothing to say about the voice communication method. The connection between fixed locations is through military communication lines, and the data transmission is transmitted through the telex line. Both are copper cable connections. Due to the limitation of copper cable bandwidth, data The transmission rate is very low, the backbone network is about 512-768B/s, the fixed radar station is 256-384B/s, and the mobile radar is connected to the wired communication network is 128-192B/s... To illustrate more vividly, if you use this rate To transmit a high-definition movie, it will take about N hours to transmit only one frame...You can't even watch a cartoon.

Therefore, for clusters of scattered targets and high-speed targets, due to the large amount of data, the reporting speed is very slow. If multiple radar stations send back information to the radar information office at the same time, then the line there can only have one result— -Being blocked.

Therefore, the method that can be adopted is to receive the feedback information of each radar station in time sharing, and everyone line up one by one, and the efficiency of this method is...

After the radar information office receives the data, it needs to trace the flight target to further judge the target's nature and intention. What is the method?

The answer is very sad, because the method is all manual work.

The specific method is to plot the map on the plexiglass board or translucent sulfuric acid paper by the staff, and then superimpose the map on the map to accurately depict the target track. This efficiency can be imagined. Normally, A staff officer can only have enough energy to describe one or two trajectories. If the air situation has multiple targets, the trajectory map sent to the combat office or the command post needs to be superimposed on several pieces of sulfuric acid paper.

It’s troublesome to speak of, and the specific operation is even more complicated. For example, long-range warning radars are mostly two-coordinate radars, and the altitude measurement radar or three-coordinate radar is needed to calculate the target height; in the current altitude measurement radars in China Many of the old UHF band radars relying on multi-path effect for altitude measurement are not very sensitive, and the measured altitude difference of thousands of meters is normal. This has caused a lot of trouble for the commander to judge the air condition...

Some classmates are about to ask, with Tan Er this "hanging force", shouldn't Huaxia's radar already be very good at this time? Why does this happen again?

Um, this, because China has a huge land area and many radar stations. Should all of these radar systems be updated? The money will be lost. Therefore, the "military must make way for economic construction" In the context of the times, if you can do it, let's do it first...

Moreover, the radar itself has the problem of data update rate. The data update rate of large-scale early warning radars of fixed radar stations that use mechanical rotating scanning antennas is very low. It takes an average of six or seven seconds to update, and then the ranging error is superimposed. In many cases , The target’s track curve needs to be judged and described by the staff based on their own experience. If you have to understand it as a "brain supplement", it’s not much worse... It’s really hard to say the accuracy of the data with such manual intervention. The business proficiency and familiarity of the airspace of the staff officers performing this task are also extremely important tests.

There is another problem with the fixed warning radar station-affected by the terrain, it has blind spots. Therefore, terrain blind compensation radar and mobile blind compensation radar must be added to the entire radar network. If these radars are more sensitive, they will be better. Almost, the target can be treated as a new target by the radar system as long as it drops a height and leaves radio contact for a period of time.

You see, this is just an empty information reporting process that is already so difficult.

In the next step, after receiving air information, the military area must have an information verification process. This task is usually completed by the aviation and other services in cooperation. The aviation unit will dispatch fighter planes that are on duty for combat readiness for verification. The occurrence of false alarms leads to unforeseen consequences, such as the shooting down of a civil airliner by the former Soviet Union. This type of verification usually requires the pilot to visually confirm the accurate information of the target. It will take a long time for this information to be transmitted from the pilot to the air base to the air division to the military region level by level. Correspondingly, after the military region makes a decision and then feed it back to the pilot, this time has to be doubled. .

It can be seen that the process of operating under this air situation processing method has very limited command capabilities. If the air situation is accompanied by natural or man-made interference, it will be very difficult to verify the air situation, even if there is no interference. For large clusters of high-speed targets, the final aggregated track is also difficult to fidelity.

Obviously, this is very unfavorable for the commander to make a correct judgment on the air situation, and it is even more difficult to conduct a unified command.

Just like the current emergency situation, I am afraid that the only comfort is that the C3I system equipped by the Ningdu Military Region performed well in the uploading and distributing of air information and command information. The first military optical cable was laid under Tan Zhenhua's strong recommendation. Also played its due role-but at the moment, these are not the key.

The key is, who is coming?
