In the eyes of Taoism, life and death are just a state.

Just as the Tao Te Ching said: "Everyone in the world knows that beauty is beautiful, so it is evil; everyone knows that good is good, so it is not good." It is believed that good and evil are subjectively determined by human beings, and there is no good and evil.

Therefore, people with the right way have no intention of good or evil, and they do things based on the way of heaven.

That's why: "Heaven and earth are not benevolent, they treat all things as straw dogs, saints are not benevolent, and treat the common people as straw dogs."

If there is good and evil, there will be discrimination, and if there is superiority or inferiority, it will definitely bring troubles. This must not be the way!

In the past, Gao Jing really wanted to join Taoism, but after years of edification, he no longer has such thoughts—after all, he has received modern education influenced by Confucianism, and has his own moral concepts and standards of right and wrong.

This is also the reason why he left Xiaoshengxianzhuang and avoided Heguanzi.

It is because Xunzi has reached the realm of "being able to do whatever one wants without going beyond the rules of etiquette"!

He Guanzi and Xunzi were very friendly, so he knew about it naturally, he was silent for a while, and then said: "I have also heard of a kind of person who said something like "a gentleman is always poor", but at the same time pursued hard to be an official. .

While talking about "agriculture, the foundation of the country", he belittled farming, calling it "not done by scholars".

He said "govern the country with propriety" and followed the example of the previous kings, but he also said "you can't punish a doctor"... Do you think this kind of person is ridiculous? "

What a scolding!

Gao Jing barely kept his smile, and said: "I've heard of such people, who say they want "no desire", but they want "no desire", and they say "learning can't be passed on, karma can't be done." You can help, but you can't solve the confusion", but they are running all over the world to recruit disciples..."

This is Zhuangzi's theory.

Zhuangzi said in "Knowing the North Journey", "There is no question about the Tao, and there is no answer to the question."

It is said in "Dasheng": "Wandering around outside the dust and dirt, carefree and carefree."

It is said in "Heaven and Earth": "Three people walk together and one person is confused, the one who is suitable can still be successful, and the one who is confused is less. If two people are confused, they will work hard and not be successful, and the one who is confused will win."

All in all, Zhuangzi believes that "Tao" cannot be taught, "karma" cannot be helped, and "confusion" cannot be solved.

He Guanzi frowned, and opened his mouth to say more.

Gao Jing hurriedly said: "Taoists, animals are not as good as them!"

Dianqing and Yan Lingji had been listening to the sidelines. Although they couldn't understand what was going on, they could still feel that the two sides were arguing with each other.

But Gao Jing suddenly blatantly scolded "Taoism is not as good as animals", which still shocked them.

He Guanzi frowned, and the hair on his head straightened.

Gao Jing hurriedly said: "The crow feeds back, benevolence! The deer sings when they find grass, and the bees gather when they see flowers. This is righteousness! The lamb kneels down to breast, the horse does not deceive the mother, this is courtesy! The spider snatches the net for food, and the ants fill the hole It is wise to avoid water! Chickens do not crow unless they are at dawn, and swallows do not come when they are not in society. Believe it!

Benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and faith are the principles of heaven. Confucianism follows them and Taoism abandons them. Are they not as good as animals? "

He Guanzi was speechless immediately, and looked at Gao Jing silently: "Are you a disciple of Confucianism or a famous school?"

Gao Jing breathed a sigh of relief, and saluted, "Confucian Gao Jing, I have met Uncle Heguanzi!"

The same words, the same ceremony, but the meaning is different.

He Guanzi sighed, and his whole body withered: "Is that why you look down on Taoism?"

Gao Jing shook his head quickly, and said, "Where did the uncle say that? In my opinion, Confucianism is Taoism, and Taoism is Confucianism."

He Guanzi was speechless, and laughed: "Do you dare to say that? Are you afraid that Confucianism will drive you out, and Taoism will hunt you down?"

Gao Jing smiled calmly: "I've been reading the "Book of Changes" recently, apart from the "easy" of "difficult and easy" and the "easy" of "changing", I have read a new feeling, that is, the "easy" of "difficult". !"

He Guanzi curiously said: "Tell me and listen."

"Book of Changes" is the first of all classics, and all schools of thought can read it, and each has his own understanding.

Gao Jing sighed with emotion, and said: "Everything in the world is constantly changing, but the principle of "constant change" is indeed always the same.

It is this "Tao" that Taoism seeks, and it is this "reason" that Confucianism seeks!

Everything in the world changes but my "reason" remains the same, the mind is the reason, and my heart remains the same!

There is a saying in Fu Gua in "Book of Changes": Fu, does he see the heart of heaven and earth?

Heaven and earth have no intention but reason, so Confucianism seeks "reason" and establishes a heart for heaven and earth with the original heart..."

"A heart built for heaven and earth?"

He Guanzi's face was complicated and shocked, and he couldn't help but said: "You have attained the Tao!".

Chapter 57 Communication

The relationship between Taoism and Confucianism has always been cursed.

Among them, Mencius scolded Yang Zhu the most.

In this era of cursing, it is natural to quote the other party's words, and then refute the scolding, so there will be a lot of "out of context" to distort the facts!

Mencius did just that, intercepting a paragraph of the conversation between Yang Zhu and Qin Huali recorded by Liezi and taking it out of context.

In the past, Qinzi asked Yang Zhu, "Remove the hair of the son's body to benefit the whole world, what do you do?"

If plucking a single hair on your body could benefit the world, would you do it?

Yang Zi said: The world is solid and cannot be saved by a hair.

The problems of the people of the world cannot be solved by pulling out a single hair.

Qinzi said: "Fake economics, what is it for?"

If possible, would you like to?

Yang Zifu responded.

In this passage, Mencius said that Yang Zhu advocated "for me", even if plucking a single hair on his body would benefit the world, he would not do it.
