"They say that a great war ravaged the land so long age, humans and there weapons destroyed mountains. Humans cut every tree, turned the water black and the clouds ruthless. Humans had destroyed their world and even after they knew that it could be saved continued their idiotic fighting."

Elias sat at a desk in front of the old man as he lectured. Although Elias was young he had an aptitude to remember even the slightest details. But because of this he forgot the little and important things.

"After so much destruction the continent was at its break, and a last ditch effort a group of people made a plea of the world. They asked it forgiveness even though they knew that they had not deserved it. That was when the Drako came into our existence."

At the sound of the word Drako a small creature fluttered into the hut through a window. The creature had the head of a cat and the small winged body of a bee. It landed on Elias's desk and stretched out it's six paws and laid down with a small meow. Elias attention drawn to the little creature stroked it's furry head. Jahrico sighed at his small friend.

"And there you go distracting my student again. With this new foe came the birth of magic, the manipulation of elements. The five great heroes were the first to use these magics. Elias, what are the four core elements?"

"Earth, water, Wind, and Nature right?"

"Very good boy, now why are these the core elements?"

"Because they were used by the heroes to reform the continent."

"Yes, after the Five Heroes along with their beast stopped the war and reconstructed and healed the land. The earth Drako reforming the earth, the water Drako cleaned the oceans, wind Drako rid the land of the pollution of war, nature Drako sprouted new forest and greenery, they also healed all the wounds of the people and Drako who fought. That is why they are called the Core Elements."

"But Teacher, what about the others?"

"Oh you mean Fire, Ice, Light, and Dark. and of course the all to rare Serpents or Dragons."

--

"So are you enjoying my lectures Elias?"

"Yes grandpa, my favorite things to learn about are the heroes and of the beast."

The old man looked at the young boy and grinned. He reminded him of a man he once knew, the same love of learning. The old man held the door of his hut and motioned the boy to follow.

As the two walked through the forest the same thing as always happened. Many drake followed and looked after the boy.

As they walked many Drako either walked behind them or stayed close, as if they were protective of the child. One, a small mix of a squirrel and a bird perched on the boy's shoulder, while another, a wolf with red fur walked closely by the boys side.

They soon reached a ledge overlooking the sea. The waves crashing against the cliff echoed into a violent melancholy. He turned to the boy who was at the moment in awe of the setting sun. The old man got down on one knee to be more eye level to the boy.

"Elias, you see the beauty of this world, the gift that was graciously given to humanity even after such atrocities. Do you want to protect it?"

The boy although he was young and didn't understand a lot of the things the man said did recognize one word, "Protect." As Jahrico explained the word Elias needed to say the sun had just reached the horizon. The young boy than stood at the edge of the cliff and held his hand over his heart.

"I, Elias Stormbrew hereby acknowledge my duty. My duty to this world, it's forest, it's seas, and its sunsets. I swear upon my name, the name of my future beast and my soul, that I will protect this world to my last breath."

"Elias Stormbrew, you are hereby accepted into the Knight of the Setting Sun. You will fulfill your oath and train in the art of magic and the sword. To protect your fellow knights, your fellow Beast, and your world. Turn!"

Elias turned and looked at the old man who held out two items. A short sword, and a pendant. Elias took the sword and lowered his head. Jahrico then tied the pendant around his neck.

"Elias you are still young, but your duty remains the same as any other human on this world, the duty to keep it protected and to sustain the beauty of the sunset."

Elias unsheathed the sword and looked at its shining blade. In the blades reflection he saw the sun and his own Golden eyes.
