Ore wa Mada, Honki o Dashite Inai

62. Canoe Chooses No Sword

The kingdom of Aiguina, the king's capital Letim.

In the heart of the palace, between the thrones, I was on one knee and bowing my head to the king.

"Hermes Canoe, we have responded to your summons."

"Ooh, Dr. Hermes. Raise your face. You don't have to do that."

"No, because this is the real deal"

"That's tough. You'll have to thank your apprentice for the rest."

"Ugh."

Stuck in words, I bothered around.

The King's "teacher" call plunged in that ministers and nobles around him and my swordsmanship guide were not just titles for decorations.

The color of the eyes that look at me changed even more when the king knew he was going to.

It's a bad flow, I was observing normal courtesy as a subordinate, but I think it's going in a bad direction.

If the king is a disciple, what kind of attitude is normal?

Uhm...... I don't know.

I don't know, so I didn't want to leave myself to the flow.

I stood up and acted in the guise of normal so as not to be as big an attitude as possible.

"What can I do for you?"

In a slightly shattered tone to try, the king just got a little in a good mood.

"Um, I thought I'd give it back."

I don't remember lending His Majesty anything.

"Technically it wasn't like that. You're talking about Serene and her ancestors."

"Yeah, well."

"My ancestors left behind some swords. Since then, anything that serves as the royal swordsmanship guide has to be lowered as a sign. So it's part of the costume."

"I see."

"I said I'd give it back because my ancestors left it behind."

And the king was so proud, that he was distracted.

I see, the story swallowed.

I'm a little relieved.

I mean, the place is tight.

It's best to protect it and make it right if it's tight.

I decided not to slap him for nothing, but to receive the sword normally.

When the king called, several servants came out of the side.

All three of them, each of them pushing something like a wagon, one sword being waved per wagon.

I mean, three swings.

"Your Majesty, is this...?

"Um, everything was left behind by my ancestors. Take a swing of what you like out of it."

"Ha."

You mean you can choose one of the three?

I knew as soon as I thought of why I did that again.

The three bottles were clearly different.

It doesn't look so different, but the one on the far left is the goods there.

The one in the middle emits a tremendous presence and is a substitute for the position where even children can see the difference.

The far right feels nothing in particular, how many swords are sold all over the city.

I remember the coin.

The ceremony of the inauguration of the Canoe family principals, I remember being told that it would be amazing to go home with the coin that I had the most power at that time.

That's the same thing, right?

No, it's quick to decide.

There may be some further traps.

"May I touch it"

"Uhm, fully compare. And take a swing at what you like."

"Thank you"

Get close to the wagon, take each of the three swords, and compare them.

Observe the subtle surroundings.

I can clearly see the ministers swallowing their hard spit and watching me.

I knew I was calling something.

The feeling in my hand is the same as my first impression.

The left is the power there - and it's an industry to which magic has been granted.

The one in the middle is probably a tremendous sword that seems to have the pillow word "legend" on it.

The one on the right is a normal sword, after all. How much mass produced is a mountain for better or worse.

If it starts with these three... this is it.

"I'll take this one"

That said, I took the right sword, the most ordinary sword in my hand.

Pfft, I know it was a trap you wanted me to pick the guy in the middle, but it's too much.

That power, even a kid who doesn't know anything, is on a level where you can tell "something's amazing".

It's too much, you can't be caught in such a visible trap.

I'm a man who can learn from failure.

and so on, and that he is secretly proud to win.

"Ooh......"

"I didn't know you'd choose that."

"Well, I guess that means the Canoes."

What?

Look around, the ministers were all very impressed.

What's this all about? Did I make the wrong choice?

Stare at the chosen sword again, check things out.

But there's nothing strange about it, after all, it's a normal sword.

"Ha ha, I'm happy for the rest, Doctor."

"Duh, what do you mean?

"The teacher doesn't understand how amazing he is. Well, geniuses often don't understand why ordinary people are surprised by what they do."

"Yep..."

Seriously, what's going on?

"The three swords were used by the teacher's ancestors when they were young, middle-aged, and old."

"Ha..."

"At first I used the sword there. As he gained strength, he shot down his mighty enemies and got the sword inside. So the sword in the middle, Foss, was exactly the symbol of her power."

I see, was that the substitute?

"And later in life, no longer the strongest, she no longer needed a famous sword. Even the cheap sword around it could reign on the strongest throne." Canoes don't choose swords, "the proverb says."

"Ah..."

You may have heard the proverb.

……

…………

Huh?

That means...

"Canoe didn't choose a sword, and they showed me exactly that. That's the rest of the teachers."

My stock went up again because the destination I avoided was where my ancestors had arrived.
