Nikita

Chapter 129 - Tomorrow We Deal With It

[NIKITA]

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, we'll heal. But I didn't understand her. Why go through all that trouble? Why cause so much chaos when all she wants is to protect you, supposedly? Who in their right mind even does that to someone they care about?" Rael asked angrily.

She was mad about the whole situation and even angrier when she thought of her hopeless defeat. She wanted a second chance with Arya; she wanted to show that wolf girl or whatever she was, that Rael was a strong woman who knew where to hit.

Unknown to Rael, the only thing that could break Arya was if Nikita was hurt, but then that was also not certain because the woman had run away from home at a young age to seek her freedom. She had left her parents, and she adored her mother.

She was the kind of girl who would do anything to make her mother happy, but even then, even with all the love and adoration she had in her heart for her mother, Arya Knight still walked away from her pack.

She still walked away from the father who loved her, her people, her everything. So who was to say that a HUMAN mate was going to make her change her mind and suddenly want to go home? It was a gamble.

Everything Was always a gamble when it came to Arya, everything.

"And Jacob?" Nikita asked. If his best warriors were beaten to a pulp, what of the huge man he had hired to keep the woman in check? Hopefully, he didn't get beaten too because that would be a shame, but then he couldn't quite put it past Arya to leave the man alive and breathing.

"He's untouched. I thought he was in liaison with her, but all the records are clean. There is nothing. If anything, Jacob was more scared of her than he was scared of us," Rael added.

Her skepticism was well-founded because it just didn't make sense that they were beaten up, and Jacob was left without even a scar. It had seemed like they were working together, but they weren't. The footage was enough proof of that. And that raised even more questions about the wolf.

Maybe she truly is a wolf, but what if she was something else paradigm as a wolf? They didn't have proof, just the sign that the woman would do anything to get what she wanted and that, at the moment, was Mykolajki Pavlenko.

"I have this annoying feeling that she truly cares about you, doc. Sure she kicked my ȧss and broke a few bones, but she seems to be out to fight anyone who is against you," Morgana said like the words were poison to her.

She didn't want to admit it, especially with the way the woman had acted since she had shown up. They knew so little about her, and even then, she hadn't given them a reason to think she wanted the Pavlenko wealth.

It was crazy, but that is what everyone who had ȧssociated with the alpha female of the moonlight pack had to say about the rebel.

She was unique in her own way.

She was perfection.

She was everything that intrigued Nikita, and for the first time, Nikita was scared of his mind. This wasn't supposed to happen, and this wasn't how everything was to pan out, but then they had never thought they would have a face-to-face with a wolf either.

"It doesn't make sense," Nikita said.

"I know, right? Any woman who wants you is always ready to worship the ground you walk on just to have you notice them, and she's using the hate technique. What's her endgame anyway?" Rael said.

It was pretty hilarious how she had managed to gather so much about Arya even with her battered state. The irony was all up in the air, but she didn't want to see it.

At the moment, all of that seemed like a theory, one that they all needed to validate because otherwise, it would all have been pointless.

"I don't know, but I have a feeling we will find out soon enough," Nikita said after giving it thought.

The woman had the chance to kill his soldiers, but she didn't, which meant that she was still hoping to see him. And she would. He would give her what she wanted, the chance to see each other, and then he would make her answer all his questions.

"I hope so too. Because somehow, she knew everything that happened. She was so mad about the crash and everything that had happened. And the worst part is that she isn't obsessed with you, and that pisses me off because we really didn't know what she's planning," Rael said.

If Arya was obsessed with Nikita, it could have been straightforward to eliminate her because they would also be able to get the sympathy of the public and all that shit.

They could have dragged her through the media and made her out to be the wrong person, and eventually, they would have won the fight, but she wasn't obsessed.

If they went out to the media with the obsession theory, it would be crazy because the woman had made it clear that she didn't want Nikita.

She had made the world know that she would always oppose Nikita no matter what happened. It was like a default setting that she had cemented in public, so there was really no point in wasting resources to make her look bad.

"Did you track her?"

"Yes, we did. Her interaction was with Natalya, though it seemed like she was holding the poor woman captive from the footage. I don't understand this, Arya really," Morgana growled.

She had just about had enough of the woman, but from what Nikitga was seeing, Ariel and Morgana needed to get some rest and heal. They looked pretty beat up.

"Maybe you should ask Natalya," Rael suggested. Clearly, that was the logical move; otherwise, what was the point of all this, right?

"I don't think she knows anything. We could have already known last time," Nikita responded.

"Well, that makes sense," Rael said as she tilted the camera. Her arms were hurting from holding her phone for a long. Nikita saw that and decided that tomorrow was also another day, and they would meet up and sort their issues then.

"Okay, you guys get some rest; we'll get to the bottom of this," Nikita said with a tone of finality. However, before he logged out, Morgana spoke up, shocking even Rael herself. They were all clearly tired, and Nikita didn't have to go to them anyway, so what did she want from the doctor?

"Wait, doc, I have a question."

"What is it, Morgana?" Nikita asked.
