Nihilist

Chapter 23 - ( • society • )

The endless exchange

Giving a piece of our lives

With every purchase

We spend our valued time

Working under the control of others

We believe ourselves that we are not to be dominated

That we are the primal species

Yet we dominate each other

In an endless chain of industry

Pulling against our freedoms

And painted with the image of happiness

We are climbing a mountain

And whoever holds enough luck

To rest at the top

Will only be overthrown

And deemed as old

Not worthy of climbing once more

For our lives are useless pawns

In a game of attention

The idea of popularity distracts us

From the tasks we have ourselves

Is shifted to nothing

As everything is adapted

To act as if something new

A mask to climb the mountain once more

A chance to stay dominant

In a world full of hungry slaves

That chained themselves

To hang below the surface of the earth

And watch the mountain fall
