Naruto - A Cursed System

After Yukio spoke with his clones, they finally decided on an appropriate schedule.

Yukio would have his clones out whenever he was sleeping. Once he was awake, he can grab something to eat and then disperse them.

Once they dispersed, he would receive all of their experience including their fatigue. Thankfully, he could handle it if he used [Slumbering Pillows: Sweet Dreams] to go to sleep.

After they were gone, Yukio would create more shadow clones. If Yukio's chakra pool increased enough, he would create an extra shadow clone.

Once he sent them out, he would practice on his lonesome, especially with his cursed energy manipulation. Despite being a replica of the user, Yukio's shadow clones didn't have access to cursed energy. So he would need to spend the effort.

Finally, he would go to sleep.

This cycle continued for an entire week before Yukio had to stop it.

As for why? There was only one reason: Sasori's friend, Komushi, had returned from his border patrol mission. And like in the canon timeline, he was missing an arm.

According to what he had heard, they weren't supposed to return from the mission so soon. Komushi's injury was the primary reason. That day, they encountered a small group of unknown shinobi who possessed malicious intent. Komushi's team was able to defeat them but at the cost of Komushi's arm.

Since the injury was recent, it'll take at least a month before it could heal. However, that is if it's healed without chakra. If there are skilled medic-nins, Kumoshi's injury should be healed within a day to a week.

It was also possible for Chiyo to personally heal him due to his relationship with Sasori, so it might take less than a day.

Yukio gave himself a deadline of one week. One week to persuade Sasori to join the Akatsuki.

Since he began to use the clone schedule, the gambling clone had successfully ruined 11 gamblers. For six days, he planned on having all of his clones focus on gambling in an attempt to raise it.

Speaking of gambling, he obtained the skill, [Basic Gambling]:

Description: Slightly boosts your proficiency at gambling. When gambling money, the odds are slightly in your favor.

To advance the skill, gamble with all your money and win without using any of your skills.

With that skill, it became somewhat easier to cure others' gambling addiction. The money he would occasionally win was a bonus.

A few days after he changed his clones' tasks...

Yukio was inside his personal dungeon playing with chakra threads. He had been looking through the book he obtained as a reward for meeting Chiyo, the Advanced Puppet Mastery book.

As the term 'Advanced' suggests, the information contained inside the book was complex and required high comprehension from the reader. With [Intermediate Research] and his intelligence stat, it made learning the technique easier.

Surprisingly, the book looked like it was personally written by Chiyo as it included her own insights and understanding.

He wasn't sure if he wanted to incorporate puppets into his fighting style. It was a neat thing to learn about. But would it work well with chains?

'Meh, I'll just use puppets to carry stuff for me. The chakra threads I make would be invisible to others. If I use puppets, people won't ȧssume that I am the one controlling them. They might even think that they were alive if I disguise them.

Hm… If I get the cursed puppet technique, they might actually become alive.'

Pushing back those thoughts, Yukio returned his attention to the chakra threads. He wondered if he should try creating 'cursed threads'; basically, chakra threads coated in cursed energy.

It didn't take long for him to accomplish that.

Wanting to test it out, Yukio left the dungeon. As he expected, nobody could see it as he was able to make people trip or stumble.

Another interesting thing about the cursed threads was that, unlike chakra threads, they could bend into sharp angles. They reminded him of metallic wires instead of strings.

He returned to his personal dungeon again but in a field-like environment. He took out his chains and started attaching cursed threads onto them.

When he woke up, he dispersed his clones. His eyes sparkled as he looked at the blue window that appeared in front of him.

"Pakura? How was your- Huh? Did you stay up all night?" Asahi asked as he greeted Pakura who looked at him with bags under her eyes.

She sighed, "Hey Asahi. Yeah, I didn't sleep at all."

"No, I don't insomnia. I just stayed up all night gambling."

"I didn't think you were a gambler."

"I'm not. I just wanted to play a game, but somehow I played all night."

"Well, try to make sure not to play too much. You are a shinobi, don't neglect your duties."

"I won't," Pakura ġrȯȧnėd.

"So…"

"Hm?"

"How much did you win?"

"Heh heh," a deprecating laugh answered his question, "Nothing. I don't have any more money. I am broke, so I'm planning on completing some missions."
