Naruto - A Cursed System

Chapter 20 - Admission

Dango learned a lot about his Cursed Dungeons and gained a lot of rewards from them. He found out that dungeon clear missions were repeatable, allowing him to grind them.

Every dungeon he created so far had housed a Rain-something else cursed spirit. And not every boss dropped something. So far, every boss dropped a specified gradeless cursed seed. He collected four in total.

He also learned that the Fly Heads, or gradeless cursed spirits, didn't drop anything. That, or the drop rate was just too rare.

Dango planned on planting the seeds to advance his taming skill just in case the fish plan didn't work. However, the moment he brought it out, Hex appeared right by him with its drool dripping on the ground.

Being the loveable trainer he was, Dango happily fed the cursed seeds to his beloved pet. Screw his taming skill! Hex matters more!

'Would it get spoiled if I do this? Nah! It shouldn't since it's hunting on its own. I'm so proud.'

On the fifth day of being alone, Yahiko, Konan, and Nagato finally returned. They came back smiling to ear-to-ear and brought back good news.

"Dango! Good news! The war ended!" Yahiko said while he hugged Dango.

"Oh, wow! Yay!" Dango responded, trying to be surprised.

That day, the trio brought back news of the war ending, believing that it would be the last war for a long while. However, even they knew that the third shinobi war was coming soon.

Dango continued training himself, worked on his skills, and tried to get some new ones.

Dango wanted to advance his [Intermediate Hiding] skill due to its usefulness. Whenever they were all free, they would all play hide and seek with each other. Unfortunately, it didn't advance. Likely because Dango never successfully hid from Nagato's Rinnegan.

He also worked on [Intermediate Searching] but couldn't successfully search for a bird nor an object lost to time. As for finding someone stronger than him, Dango believed Nagato fulfilled that part of the advancing requirement.

On the bright side, he did get the [Basic Origami] skill soon after he was taught origami by Konan. He didn't expect it to be a skill and was interested in how cool and pretty it looked. Surprisingly, he even managed to advance the skill soon after he got it.

[Intermediate Origami]

Description: Moderately boosts your proficiency in making origami. Your origami is naturally more resistant to detrimental elements. If you display your origami, their beauty will encapture perusing eyes.

To advance the skill, produce an origami with advanced-level complexity and sell it for 1,000,000 ryo.

It was a neat surprise, but Dango didn't see any use for it in terms of combat, 'Maybe I could learn paper ninjutsu?'

In addition, Dango somehow managed to convince his siblings to allow him to go on a one-year trip. He told them how he was going to train for the entire year, and when he came back, he would surely surprise them.

Unexpectedly, they agreed quite easily. Dango even got the skill [Basic Persuasion]. No matter what, Dango couldn't wrap his head to why they were so easily convinced.

=====

[Basic Persuasion]

To advance the skill, persuade several individuals into making simple decisions.

Truthfully, they trusted Dango's strength. They already knew he was quite strong and smart for his age. They even saw how good he was at stealth, though his actions were a bit risky. In the end, they believed that he would survive on his own. However, if he suggested a timeframe any longer than a year, they would probably disagree.

They sternly warned him to be careful and forced him to bring stuff with him. Once Dango was ready and all necessities were packed up, they bade farewell to each other. Dango also brought Hex along with him.

He thought the spirit would feel lonely without him being around it. He also wanted the centipede to experience what the modern world was like. However, he needed to be very careful with handling it in public. Who knows if a sorcerer or someone capable of seeing spirits would come across the child-spirit duo.

After they bade farewell, Dango and Hex traveled a few kilometers away before stopping. He looked around to make sure no one was spying. Once he confirmed it, Dango secretly hid most of his gear away like the bow and sword.

Since he was going to the modern world, he didn't think bringing similar equipment would be a good idea. Hence, he removed any piece of equipment that might elicit any unwanted attention. He kept a spare kunai and two shurikens for protection, though he planned on relying on the Shiny Kunai.

While he was hiding his stuff, he realized that there was an uneven number of arrows inside his quiver. Despite being nearly a week since he fought the first dungeon, he never replaced the lost arrow.

'I should make some more.'

"I'd like to partake in the second part of the rank-up mission required to advance to a grade four sorcerer!"

[Admission accepted. Beginning trial 'December 7th, 1994.' Be careful, Shard.]

'Huh? Shar-'

*blip*

Dango and Hex were gone.

They're dead.

That was it.

Goodnight.
